okay so i may be wrong but i believe what was messing up the thing was the chess pieces,
so i merged them into one left column and the boxes into one left column as well.
after i did that, the border went back to the top.

here ^^ your entire left layout needed to be changed. just using the [ left ] messes up your layout, and to be blunt, I have no idea how you did what you did. you needed to use left-left and left-right justification classification to tell the browser which object is on the right-most side of the left. to answer your question, the gap/bar break is caused the the large amount of line breaks you used between:

question: when i put in a couple symbols into the colour fader( such as: ▓ ) then it comes out with a weird symbol with a question mark? how do i fix this?

that symbol works fine for me? not only could it be a server problem, or a user-based issue. as chrome said, some symbols are not supported, but have you tried using the alt code rather than direct copy paste? on computer programs, some times the copy-paste method doesn't render the symbol. otherwise, try another script, like this one?

I usually replace those symbols with something that color fader likes, such as a capital letter or a number. Then I go through and paste the symbols back into the code when I've got it back on CS.

So I have a interesting question. How do people get those one url signatures? All my signatures have gigantic codes, and links, and image urls, but how do I get just one?
