Username: Dark.
Doll Name: James "Jim" Crowley [though he is commonly known as Crowley]
Phonetically: Cr-OW-lee
Meaning: Of Heroic Descent
One Sentence: Suave though not entirely sophisticated
Favourite Quote: "I don't see the world unless I see it in ink." ~ Jewel
Birth Date: 8 September
Theme Song: Wake Me Up - Avicii
Orientation: Heterosexual Male
Occupation: Tattoo Artist
After he moved to the dollhouse and finally perfected using his left-hand, Crowley became a tattoo artist. He'd always shown a talent for designing and sketching, finding a certain beauty in body art. It took him a long time to perfect using the needle with his left hand and at first he was frustrated with the imperfections in his designs. With a lot of practice he can now confidently transfer pieces of art from paper to skin.
Pastimes: Amateur Poker player [aspires for it to become an occupation], socialising, drawing; via any platform - though his forté is ink or pen, he also enjoys working with mixed medias such as chalks, aerosols and sculpting.
Why he wears the contacts: Naturally, Crowley has a grey-blue iris, though he chooses to wear a contact with white slitted pupils. A long time ago he was told he could never play poker, as his eyes gave away his hand. Specifically, the dilation of his pupils gave away a bluff. So, in an attempt to hide his thought, Crowley adopted the contacts. He found himself winning a few games for once. Taking a liking to them, and the mysterious cloak they cast, Crowley adopted them permanently.
Personality: [Ostenacious][Arrogant][Charming][Humorous][Good-Natured]
>Ostenacious< Almost everything Crowley does is designed to impress. He puts a lot of effort into maintaining a suave overall presentation; with often immaculate clothing and hair. People have called him vain, though he tends to pull a face at the remark. Never one to shy away from the limelight, he has a loud personality with quite brash tendencies. Crowley is quite theatrical, and never does anything by half; particularly where emotions are concerned. If excited, everyone can tell; if he's angry, stay out of his way. That's probably why he's a bit of a hit-and-miss poker playing; others can often read his expression like a book. Since his accident, Crowley has changed a little. He no longer seeks the limelight so persistently; though he has become more outlandish and theatrical in his ways. Though he wouldn't admit it, his ostenacious ways are a way of him detracting unwanted attention from his missing limb.
>Arrogant< Crowley exudes a self-confidence, one that rivals arrogance. People should takes his opinions with a pinch of salt and he has been described before as marmite; people either love him or hate him. He can be quite dogmatic in his viewpoints, and will argue his case (even if he realises he is wrong). Rather annoyingly, Crowley is not often wrong when it comes to proving a point and he is not a great winner, with his characteristic smirk and smug 'I told you so'.
>Charming< If you aren't deterred by his initial cockiness, Crowley can actually come across as quite the charmer. His smooth-talking and smouldering gazes make him as many enemies as they do friends. He loves to flirt, and has some interesting pick-ups lines, his most cringe-worthy of which are "Hi, I'm Mr Right, I heard you were looking for me?" and the classic "Do you believe in love at first sight - or should I just walk past again?". He won't disclose any evidence that those lines have actually worked for him, though he swears fervently that they have. Joking aside, he can be quite the hopeless romantic, though he keeps that to himself, just in case it damages the suave persona he's built.
>Humourous< Crowley can definitely give a joke better than he can take one, but that said, he can also give as good as he gets. He enjoys playful banter and easily gets bored if his target cannot hold their own. His style of humour can sometimes be misconstrued as light teasing, though he always intends it from a good place. If he is ever taking things too far, Ink will be the first to tell him with a small knock to the leg.
>Good-Natured< Despite all his flaws and his past, Crowley is actually quite nice natured. Prior to the incident, he was quite a hot-head and frequently instigated many fights. Now he has mellowed, he regrets the past though does not dwell on them. In his mind he has more than paid penance. Crowley will still stand by what he believes and will jump protect anyone he considers weaker than himself, such as children, women or shadows. How he would actually fare in a fight now though without his mean right hook is another story entirely.
Quirks:
• Whenever anyone asks about his arm he will not tell them the actual story, rather he will skirt around the truth with an overly theatrical tale. The story he tells changes every time he tells it; varying from he lost it as part of a gambling bet to he gave it to an armless homeless man.
• He always has to be doodling. Be it on scraps of paper or on the back of napkins or handkerchiefs. Often, if he's talking to someone, or sitting with them, he will draw them without realising.
• Never touch his bow tie. Yes, he knows it is undone. No, he does not require any assistance with it. It is perfect as it is.
• Expect frequent hand-running-through-hair moments; particularly when he is either flirting or a little nervous.

Shadow Name: Ink
Gender: Biologically genderless, Crowley identifies Ink as male and often simply refers to him as 'he/his'.
One Sentence: Impossible to dislike. Adawrable squishehness >u<
Theme Song: You've Got A Friend In Me - Toy Story
Personality: [protective][affectionate]
>Protective< Before Crowley's incident, Ink was quite a timid little shadow. When around large groups he would prefer to hide as Crowley's tattoo sleeve. After they were attacked, Ink changed. Disgusted that he hadn't stood up for his doll, Ink blames himself for Crowley's missing arm. So, now, Ink has sworn to protect him. He stays in his physical form most of the time, never leaving the doll's side. He can become a tad overprotective at times, and Crowley will gently let him know.
>Affectionate< Watching Ink with Crowley is quite a sight to behold. It doesn't matter who is around; it is quite obvious that the shadow dotes on his doll. Ink craves contact and will stop at nothing to get it, whether it be a simple pat or a full blown hug. He also has a lot of love to give to those he meets, particularly other shadows; and dolls both he and Crowley totally trust. Some may find him annoying, though Crowley will always stand by his adorableness.
Quirks:
• Ink loves to sit and watch Crowley draw. Sometimes, he tries to get involved and 'help', though he normally just ends up smudging the design. His favourite thing to do is study Crowley's most intricate drawings and try to recreate them as part of his tattoo sleeve.
• He loves pretending to be a puddle, then, just as an unsuspecting doll is about to step on him - bam! He jumps up and surprising them. Ink only likes to prank in a kindhearted way however, he never wants to genuinely scare anyone.
• Ink is completely mute, though he chooses to communicate through telling stories with ink. Usually he will form pictures if he wants to explain something; only when something is utmost urgency will he attempt to form words.
• Occassionally, when he is very happy, Ink emits a small humming noise, though this is the only noise he does make (except from the obligatory squelchiness).
The relationship between Crowley and Ink:
Their relationship is definitely something to behold, and is akin to the bond between that of a boy and his dog or an older sibling and their younger toddler. They have quite a mutual fondness of eachother, with neither one holding back on shows of affection - even if they are in public. Often Crowley can be seen holding the shadow to his chest for a gooey embrace or ruffling his head lovingly with his left palm. Likewise, it is clear that Ink thinks thinks the world of Crowley, he will carry out any tasks in an over eager manner and loves to be in contact with his doll. Sometimes he will do silly things to try and impress him or make him laugh; particularly when Crowley is a little blue.
Though the pair are relaxed most off the time, should someone appear as a threat they will immediately step to protect eachother. Crowley often is the one to step infront Ink first, as he feels responsible for the smaller creature. Ink himself used to be a bit of a coward and veered away from any confrontation. Now however, after the incident in which Crowley lost his arm, Ink is ferociously protective and if anyone aggressively comes at Crowley, Ink is unable to be restrained. It is funny how a blur of black barraging towards you can unsettle even the most malicious dolls. There have only been a few times were Ink has overstepped the mark with new acquaintainces and tried to see them off where if was not needed. In these instances, Crowley has to take him aside and reassure him that these new people are okay, and that he doesn't need protected from everyone.
How did the doll lose his arm?:

Crowley lost his arm many years ago now, and although he has since adapted to the use a single appendage, it was something that took him a long time to get used too. His right arm was his dominant limb and something he depended on more than he knew. His hand was used to write, catch, eat and even (arguably most importantly) slick his fingers through his hair. It was also where Ink decided to take residence when the pair first met.
Not long after he signed his contract with Ink, Crowley set out into the world, in no haste to get to the dollhouse. His tastes were focused on exploring - and boy was it a big world out there. No fear of the dark, Crowley would often travel under the cover of darkness, with nothing but the moon and stars to guide his path. Ever the impulsive hard-head, he mixed with all sorts of characters; taking up the unsavoury habit of gambling - there isn't much Crowley won't bet on. He made a few friends - and enemies -, and ended up in a fair few scuffles; however somehow he always came up smelling of roses. That was, until he decided to start his journey to the dollhouse.
One night, Crowley was travelling alone through some back alleys. He'd been caught cheating in a highbrow poker match and had been not-so-gentley escorted out. Most people would have a slightly tinted pride, but Crowley was used to that sort of treatment. Ink had long decided to 'go to bed' and take up his residence as the tattoo sleeve on Crowley's right arm. Crowley kept his head low, a slight chill in the wind. Skirting his way round a puddle, he took the time to eyeball his reflection; no moon or stars were reflected in the clear black pool. Then he heard a scuffle.
Without stopping, Crowley flicked a slitted pupil behind him discreetly; gaze locking onto the figure that tailed less than twenty feet behind. The doll frowned. Sure he'd been caught cheating but the security was rarely persistent enough to follow him. Balling his fists, he increased his pace, veering sharply off into an adjoining alley. That was his mistake.
Crowley stopped dead. Two figures emerged in front of him, the other appearing behind to block him in. All were dolls, burly and fierce looking, three he'd never had the displeasure of meeting before. Crowley had been in enough fights to know where this was going - outnumber him and beat him up. Well, at least he thought he knew what was going to happen.
These weren't his normal fare of angry acquantainces. Crowley had manage to stumble right into the trap of three corrupt dolls - a trio who took joy in trying to seperate other dolls from their shadows. Spotting Ink on Crowley's right arm, they force ably restrained him, ripping away the arm from his ball-joint. Ink panicked dropping to the floor and scurrying away into the camouflaging shadows. Thinking they had somehow destroyed the shadow, the gang then left Crowley in the alley - not without giving him some bruises to remember beforehand. In shock, Crowley had sat in the alley for sometime before Ink finally reappeared; visibly shaking. Ink had sat on his knee for a while. When the pair finally decided to leave, Ink assumed his position as a tattoo; this time a mirror image on Crowley's left arm.
After the incident, Crowley kept his head low and headed to the dollhouse with Ink, where his retrained himself to be sinisterous; left-hand dominant.

I want to start off with apologizing for this taking a bit longer than expected, because I ended up being out of the house for the majority of the last few days and wasn't able to access my computer for the longest time. So, I've finally gotten some time to sort through all of the forms and pick the winner!
First off, I would like to thank everyone for trying out! There were so many beautiful forms and different concepts for this guy, and each one of them were fantastic!
So, I would like to congratulate draumr with Theo and Quark! I loved how you portrayed him in the story and how he handled himself. Your form had stood out to me, and your delivery of both his story and personality was fantastic!
I will be doing two runner-ups as an apology for not having announced the winner for some time, and those two will be ~Soul~ and .chamomile.!
Thank you for all who tried for him and congratulations to the winner!
