I was walking back into school when I heard a voice in the hallways. My voice - or you could say, the robot's voice. Surprisingly it doesn't sound robotic or anything, like in those movies. So of course, I went that way, and I saw.... Robot Me, of course. What did you expect? A cow?!
Me: *walks right up* Time to show everyone who you really are. *jumps up and grabs the robot's neck and starts squeezing*
Robot Me: *starts pretending to choke while trying to push me off*
Me: Grr.... *squeezes harder*
Then suddenly, a blast of fire scorched my weird white shirt and mask. I jumped back, hissing and growling. I noticed the robot growling as well - probably at me.
Me: Who's stopping me from destroying the Robot -
A gust of wind pushed me back and onto my back. Weird, right? Double 'back' word. Doesn't make sense, but anyways. Cinders was standing there, eyes narrowed.
Cinders: I don't know who you are, but you're not going to strangle my friend to the death in front of me.
Me: *growls* I'm your friend! Open your eyes - see the truth!
Cinders: *blinks* Nope, all I see is a weird Nerd who just tried to strangle my friend.
Me: I - But -
Cinders: *blasts me with flames again* Get out of here. Now.
Me: *gets up and leaps at the robot* You won't get away from this! *wraps arms around the robot's neck, pressing my paws to its back*
Robot: What - WHY IS EVERYBODY TRYING TO STRANGLE ME TO DEATH?! *attempts to grab me*
Cinders: What kind of party is this?! First the nerd, now the fake Skyler! *stamps her paw on the ground*
Rocks suddenly flew out of the ground from cracks that appeared. Robot Me lurched to the side, her paw nearly slipping into a hole. I threw myself to the side, rocks grazing my fur as the robot let out a howl of anger - and false pain.
Cinders: S - Sorry! I'm going to get that fake out of the school - don't worry!
Me: *throws myself at the robot again*
This time, however, Cinders was more careful. She watched, eyes narrowed, a paw up in the air. Suddenly Snowy barged past her.
Snowy: IS THIS AN OUTCAST PARTY OR SOMETHING?!
Snowy breathed. Okay, that doesn't sound so bad, but she blew a cloud of snow towards us. Suddenly, I couldn't see anything - just white clouds. Snowflakes settled on my fur as I attempted to leap out of the way. I knocked my head against the walls, but I could barely feel it. I could hear the robot screeching, but I couldn't see it. Suddenly the robot threw itself out of the cloud, smashing into Snowy. The plan was going wrong. I knew it. As the cloud cleared, I leaped at the robot, grabbing its leg and trying to pull it away from Snowy. Well, I can't just have the robot go and murder even the Queen Bee, right?
I could hear Snowy howling about her makeup and stuff, but I was too busy wrestling with the robot. Again, Cinders was too careful. Suddenly she narrowed her eyes. I had never seen Cinders so angry before - she yowled - "GET OUT OF THE WAY!" - and flicked her paw at us. I grabbed at the robot to keep it from escaping, wrapping my paws around it and digging my back paws into the floor as the wind blew my fur back.
The robot didn't seem too affected - but I didn't care. Lucifer and Link had said we needed all the elements to defeat it - already it had been hit with wind, ice and rocks. I needed the rest - but I didn't even know how many elements she had. Ugh. I rolled all over the floor with it, striking at it with my claws. The robot threw me off, howling with rage. I spun and ran towards Cinders, totally freaking out and her eyes widened. She blasted electricity has me - I couldn't stop and crashed into her, sparks flashing over my fur. None of the electricity had hit the robot - I needed to brace that again, of course. Ugh.
I shook my head, trying to clear the fog in my head. Cinders used her paws to batter at me, sending me skidding across the ground back at the robot. I slammed my paw against the ground to try stop myself from sliding - but the robot placed her paw on my foot, then glared me right in the eye.
Robot Me: You're going to die, and your friends will belong to me. Forever.
So I did a completely reasonable thing. Sneeze in her face. It's eyes widened - I noticed sparks leaping from it's jaws as it tried to wipe my spit off its face. Then the worse thing happened. Sunny - or the clone - rushed around the corner behind me. It leaped at me - I was knocked backwards again. Cinders looked shocked - then her eyes narrowed. Flames spurted from her jaws, and she blasted them at me.
Cinders: YOU DARE BLAST YOUR GERMS IN MY FRIEND'S FACE?! YOU'LL PAY FOR IT!
My bandages and my fur set on fire. I screeched - I admit it - in terror as I fled, trying to put it out. A thought rushed through my mind - Drop, roll and stop - and I did exactly that. I think that was the wrong order, because the fire didn't put out, but I rolled under the robot's paws. A drop of melted metal nearly hit me in the face as I rolled right into the Clone Sunny. I think it was the clone, anyways.
I struggled to my paws, as the Clone grabbed at me. It grabbed at my tail - and it didn't get anything. Her paws slipped through nothing - now I'm glad I have a weird tail. The robot's tail was melting - smoke filled the hallway. I managed to put out the fire by rolling again on the ground - as I got to my paws, my head spinning, I noticed Cinders squinting through the smoke. Light filled the hallway - blinded, I narrowed my eyes. Of course, I don't know how a flash of light can defeat a robot, but.... meh.
I think Cinders decided that even though it's a battle between life and death, she wanted that party Riptide's promised her. That's what I guessed, anyways. The white light suddenly.... changed colors. I managed to open my eyes - the light had lit up everything, and was changing from white to purple, purple to blue, blue to red, and - wait. I think it was the other way 'round... or something. Anyways. Let me continue with the heroic battle.
I managed to crawl over to a shadowed corner. I noticed Riptide's glowing blue fur - he gave me the paws up sign and I nodded. It was totally exhausting... How can I keep up with this? So of course, my smart brain suddenly thought of a wonderful idea. My wind powers. But of course, I hadn't thought about it being on tape that time, so I leaped out again. I really hated doing this to Cinders - but I had to. With a flick of my paw, I knocked Cinders and Snowy back against the wall. The light stopped for the moment as Cinders struggled to get up, as Snowy wailed and froze one side of the wall with a flap of her butterfly wings. Meanwhile, the clone's eyes glowed red - I couldn't get a photo as I was battling, but here is the photo I got from Riptide's IPaw.
I could hear Cinders gasp in surprise. I blasted wind at the clone again - it knocked into the robot, who made a robotic screech. I flew over their heads and landed beside Cinders. I grabbed Cinders' shoulders and shook her back and forth.
Me: YOU SEE?! THEY'RE FAKES! A CLONE AND A ROBOT! I'M THE REAL SKYLER! COME ON!
Cinders: *stares at me, blinks, then topples backward*
I managed to catch her head before she cracked that against the ground.
Me: Oi! Cinders! You can't faint now! I need your help to -
Then I felt something smash into my back. I toppled on top of Cinders, and struggled back up. The robot and clone had revealed their true form - a clone, with glowing red eyes, and a robot, without the hologram. The robot had a little thing that looked like a gun on top of her head. The gun glowed - I immediately raised my paws over my head to protect myself. Instead of bullets, a kind of light blazed out and surrounded us. I saw - Doggyland? (Disneyland)
Robot Me: Heh. Well, I suppose I have to get rid of you and wipe everybody's memories! I didn't get equipped with swords or anything, but I suppose I have to get rid of you with a mere hologram camera!
Me: What's a hologram camera?
I wondered how a hologram camera could battle claws and paws. I still supposed that Riptide was still in his little corner, filming everything. I hoped, anyways. The clone leaped to attack me - I threw myself to the side to shelter behind a character themed garbage can - instead, I smashed into an invisible wall. Okay, maybe a hologram camera can cause damage after all.
Robot Me: *grins evilly* Now you understand. You'd prefer to have your life ended right here in your favorite place as a pup, right?
Me: This isn't even my favorite place. *feels along the invisible wall*
I glanced over at Cinders. She seemed to be leaning against nothing - leaning against air. Snowy had already fled - good for her, anyways. I tried shaking her again. She blinked groggily and tried to get up.
Cinders: W - where am I? Is this... Am I.... The detention room?
Me: No, it's a hologram camera thing of Doggyland.
Cinders: D - Doggyland?
Me: What? It's not Doggyland for you?
While we talked, Robot Me leaped up and tried to strangle Cinders. I suddenly felt a burst of anger - perhaps the same as Cinders' when I was trying to strangle the robot - and I grabbed the robot. I suddenly had a burst of energy and ripped the robot off Cinders - the clone was pacing back and forth, watching.
Me: Cinders! Use your elemental powers!
Cinders: I - I - *holds up paw* ELECTRICITY!
I expected a bolt of electricity to come out, but nothing happened.
Me: Cinders! Why -
Cinders: I - I can't! I don't remember!
Me: B - but you just did it when I was attacking the robot!
Cinders: I don't know! I was angry then - I can't!
Me: You're angry - I - Try to remember!
I spun around to face the robot. I blinked and shook my head, trying to get rid of the hologram. It didn't work. The robot let out the metallic screech again.
Robot Me: You and your friend will perish! I will destroy you - and your friends will be mine!
Me: *growls* Never, you... hunk of metal! *uses wind to blast them*
The clone tumbled backwards - the robot, instead, took a step forwards. I freaked out I punched in the face, in my panic. A piece of its cheek slipped off, revealing sparking wires. Suddenly Cinders cried out.
Cinders: I - You're not going to take my friends!*gets to her paws* You're not going to harm any of them! Not Ryker! Not him!
Me: Since when you thought about Ryker?! *dodges the robot's fist and crashes into a wall*
Cinders: I - I - Let's - LATER! *blasts the robot with electricity*
The robot started to smoke. Smoke came out of it's huge ears (I don't have big ears like that!) and it growled - instead of my voice out came a metallic rasp.
Robot Me: You... will.... regret it. *sparks again* My master will get you!
I noticed a creepy shadow on a photo booth - it disappeared, though. I tried to get my sense of direction and grasped at the air, trying to find a wall. Meanwhile, Cinders looked twice the size and was advancing on the robot, her eyes gleaming with anger. I noticed tendrils of darkness at the edges of her paws - I almost thought it was the creepy shadow until Cinders yelled.
Cinders: DARKNESS! GET IT!
Darkness streamed out of her paws. Suddenly the hologram was gone, replaced with an inky darkness. That made me remember I had more than one sense. I closed my eyes, twitching my ears. My ears aren't huge, but.... I'm glad they're a tiny bit bigger than average as I could hear better. I could imagine the walls around me, and the robot - I attacked blindly. My claws caught on something - a slice of metal - and I managed to rip it off, ripping off a couple of my claws in the process. I managed to find Cinders in the darkness.
Me: Cinders! You must attack it with one of every element! You still have water and nature, if I guess!
Cinders: I - I've got it! Think of natures! Trees! Creepy forests with bugs! Wait - BUGS?!
Instead of glowing green leaves or anything, suddenly bugs filled the air. I closed my mouth to keep the bugs out and glanced at Cinders. She looked completely frightened - I had never seen her like this. I guess she's afraid of bugs, but I haven't asked properly yet. Meanwhile, the bugs swarmed the hallway - or Doggyland, in my eyes. Cinders suddenly got up and threw herself to the ground, sliding into a wall.
Me: What are you doing?!
Cinders: T - The bugs! Wh - Where's the table?!
Me: *grabs her and pulls her back* W - Water! Defeat it! Now!
The bug swarm cleared as Cinders held up a shaky paw.
Cinders: I - W - Water!
Nothing happened.
Me: No! We must! Angry! Think angry!
Cinders: I - I can't! B - Bugs!
Meanwhile, the hologram was gone. The robot was smoking, with lumps of metal falling off and hanging there. Wires curled out, and sparks leaped from its robotic eyes. The hologram camera had been torn off. However, the robot was getting to its paws - now the clone attacked, slashing wildly. I blasted it with a gust of wind and it suddenly stopped, its fur turning gray and dusty. I let out a relieved breath - it crumbled to ashes and scattered on the floor. I took Cinders' paw and stared at the robot.
Robot Me: You. Will. Die.
Me: Robots say that in movies, but the hero always wins. *squeezes Cinders' paw*
Robot Me: But this. Is. Not. a Movie. This. Is. Reality. And I will take your friends. Starting with... this Ryker kid you've been talking about.
Cinders: I - I -No. Never. *blasts it with water*
It howled - then crumbled to pieces of metal. The pieces of metal became ashes, and they scattered. I breathed a sigh of relief and squeezed Cinders' paw.
Me: We... done it...
Then the hallway spun around me, spinning, spinning.... I don't remember much after that. But when I woke up, I was in the nurses' room with Cinders. Someone else was there too - someone unexpected.
Me: Ryker.
Ryker: You look burnt, battered, and buttered. No, wait - not the buttered part. You know? But... what happened?
Now with Snowy not around, I realize why Cinders... likes him, I think. He's kind of funny.... But he doesn't beat Xander.
Cinders: *suddenly gets up* Wha...? I - R - Ryker? *slowly gets out of bed*
I noticed me and Cinders did look kind of battered. My fur was slightly scorched, and I had some bruises and cuts, but the bandages Jewel used on me had been replaced. Cinders had a couple of nasty bruises and cuts, and a bump on the head. Everything else did seemed alright, though.
Ryker: Um, hey. Cinders.
Me: *looks around for the nurse* Where's Riptide? My... friends?
Cinders: *ignores me and gets out of bed*
Ryker had gotten up - he was looking from me to Cinders.
Ryker: I... got the news. You defeated a robot and a clone.
Me: Does news spread this fast in school?
Cinders: *ignores me again* .... Yeah.
Ryker: I'm glad you survived. You know, 'cause...
Cinders: *stares at him, then walks towards him, holding her arms out for a hug*
Ryker: *stares at her*
Cinders: *reaches out to hug him*
Ryker: *steps back* Um, I already have a girlfriend. Though... she's a bit... not my type. Bossy...
Cinders: Oh. *looks crestfallen*
Ryker: Um, yeah. You... survived. *looks around - at the windows, at the door* I - Is Snowy here?
Me: I don't think I've heard you stutter before.
Cinders: *ignores me for the ten millionth time* No.... She ran away before she got hurt.
Ryker: Well... I guess it's safe. *hugs Cinders*
Me: Wow. A jock with an Outcast. Never thought something like this would happen - oh, wait. It's already happened with me and Xander.
Suddenly the door creaked. Ryker quickly pulled away from Cinders as someone came in. The nurse.
Nurse: You're completely healed, now. Just no active stuff and too much moving, Cinders and Skyler. For Ryker... It's just a bruise. You come in every week just for a bruise or a cut. You can go.
Ryker: Anyone would think I'm the nurse's best friend. Coming in every week, you know? *chuckles* Well, I better.... Go back to Snowy now. Bye. *leaves*
Me: Um, Nurse Something?
Nurse: Just call me the Nurse.
Me: Okay, um, the Nurse. Where are my friends?
Nurse: Your friends... Ah. I think about a dozen or more students tried coming in asking for you and Cinders, but I told them you two were resting.
Cinders: *still staring after Ryker*
Me: A dozen?!
Nurse: Um, yes. More if I didn't count correctly. Now may you leave?
Me: Uh, yeah. Right. *grabs Cinders' paw and tugs her outside*
Then I realized there were actually quite a lot of students outside staring at me and Cinders. I was suddenly back-hugged by someone.
???: SKYLER! YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME YOU WERE THE REAL ONE!![]()
I slowly turned around. Fang. I noticed Creek nearby - she looked a little disappointed at first when Fang hugged me, but Fang turned around, smiled at her, and hugged her, too.
Me: *before someone else hugs me* Um, guys. I... I need some peace and quiet. Come on, Cinders! *grabs her paw and pulls her to our dorm*
When we arrived at our dorm, I closed the door and locked it. The room was messy, just like I liked it.
Me: Finally. Everything's... right again.
Cinders: Yeah. Right... But...
Me: You'll.... Ryker... I -
Cinders: Um, you, nothing. I'll be going now! *unlocks door and runs outside*
