Sleetpaw spotted a vole apwigglign through roots under a tree. He crawled down swiftly and got into a crouch. He moved towards in swiftly, and pounced on it, biting its neck killing it,

The brown tomcat laughed. "Oh, just thinking about a minnow makes me hungry," he said. Licking his jowls, he began padding in the direction of the stream.

Hailstorm scaled a thin oak tree, noticing a robin and snatching it with a hefty forepaw before dispatching it. "That's one," he said beneath his breath.

"Nice catch." The gray apprentice shook his pelt, getting rid of some of the rain. He dug a hole for his thrush and covered it.

Crowpaw padded after them, taking up the rear. "Well we better make sure to catch a lot for a feast later on," she mewed happily. Crowpaw thought of the freshkill pile full of fish and her mouth started to water.

Petalpelt caught a smaller bass, biting down hard on it's head, killing it.

Duskstar crouched, noticing a vole on their way. She pounced and snapped it's neck. She stopped and buried it, "We're almost at the river," she said.

Antpaw glanced at the leader and his fellow apprentice. He turned to Crowpaw and said, "I think this may be the final time I'm going on a hunting patrol as an apprentice. At sunrise I'm starting my assessment." The apprentice puffed out his chest and smirked.

Hailstorm dipped his head. "Thank you, Sleetpaw," he meowed. "Let's see . . . Okay, we only have two more pieces of prey to catch. We'll be done before we know it.

Aspenheart purred,"Nice catch." He smiled and sat, licking his paw,"Shall we try another hunting area?"

Sleetpaw looked around. Something was rustling no in the bushes. Sleetpaw crouched down and went after it. He jumped on it, killing it swiftly.

"Really? Congrats, I'm sure all of us will miss you as a denmate," she purred happy for her friend. Crowpaw turned to Duskstar, "yay, I can't wait to hunt fish!"

Hailstorm purred. "Well done, Sleetpaw. We just need one more piece of prey before we can return to the place where we're meeting Duskstar and her patrol."

Antpaw smiled. "Thanks, Crowpaw. I'm gonna miss you and the rest of the apprentices. I'll miss Sleetpaw always losing clumps of fur in his nest, and Quickpaw being so jumpy, and of course, you and I competing to see who was the best sparring partner."

Duskstar smiled, "I hope you succeed and join us as a warrior." she purred to Antpaw. They were at the lake now.

Petalpelt smiled, "Thanks," she said, "Do you just want to hunt around in the forest?" she asked.
