Where...who...what am I?
Pale eyes fluttered open as they stared up at the clouding sky. " WAKE UP! " a voice screamed. Yet the female the pale eyes belonged to just stared blankly at the sky. Who was...talking? her mind questioned as the voice spoke again.
" Melody please, just wake up! " the voice begged as the female began to slowly sit up and look around the burnt down house. Her back had been on a cold, stone fireplace ledge and the surrounding wood had been burnt, luckily her body unharmed.
The female looked around the empty space blankly before the voice spoke again. " Melody, thank god your okay...now look at me darn it! "
" W... " the female began to say before she shut her eyes and took a shuddering face and spoke again. " Who is...speaking? Where...are you? "
A sigh was heard, the female locating it near her waist so she looked down but no living being.
" Melody " the voice said with a worried tone as it spoke from a strange pendent attached to her clothes, " do you know who I am? "
The female slowly shook her head. " No...I'm...sorry... " she said with an absent-minded look on her face.
It was silent for a long time as the darkening sky finally allowed the rain to pour down. The water splashed off the female's smooth face as the burnt roof of the cabin failed to protect her and the talking pendent.
" Melody... " the voice spoke again, " do you...remember anything? "
The female stared up at the sky, her face blank. " No... "
The kept falling before the voice spoke again. " Well...I guess you don't remember me... " a sigh was heard before the voice kept speaking. " My name is Shade, I am the pendent on your belt and your name is Melody "
Melody slowly nodded as she looked down at her belt, the rain running down her soaked face as she stared at the black and white pendent. " What...are you? " Melody asked before raising a hand and staring at it. " What am I? "
" I am a Shadow, and your are a doll. We are partners and must never leave each other " Shade strictly informed her as Melody nodded along. " Now...I will try and help you to recover your memories...but I suppose...it is better you forgot them... "
Melody looked at Shade with a confused face. " Better...if I forgot them? " she questioned.
" Nevermind, ignore me " Shade instructed before he spoke again. " Now...let's go find shelter, we are getting wet "
Melody nodded before she stood up, and walked as Shade guided her while they talked.

Why is it better I forgot my memories?
Why was that house burnt?
What happened to me?

Hello, I'm ~Silver! I've been silently stalking Dollhouse waiting
for a perfect doll to try out for and cherish forever. I'm found in a few
other adopts but I tend to not be as active because of my shyness. ^^"
Either way, I hope you enjoy reading my form I have put together for

Focused

Cynthia is a very straightforward individual and tends to
stay focused on one thing at a time. It's not that she
doesn't multitask; she would rather just get things done by
staying focused on one task rather than too many and
getting overwhelmed.

Realistic

Something that may bother a few dolls quite a bit is that
she is a very realistic doll, unlike some others. She doesn't
really believe in using her imagination much unless she is
forced into a situation which she has to "be creative" and
get herself out of it. Rather than that, if something doesn't
look like it's possible or something is fake, she'll clearly tell
you so, unless your a kid, that is.

Caring

Even though she may not look or act like it, Cynthia can
be very caring. Once you get to know her and gain her trust,
then she seems to do tiny things such as smiling at you or
listening and helping give you advice to let you know that
she really does appreciate your company and friendship.

Thoughtful
Arrow is the kind of shadow to always plan ahead
and takes his time when it comes to answering you.
He is just the type of shadow to consider all of the
consequences if he said the wrong thing.

Modest
He's also very honest and will even tell you if you
look bad in something! |D Only if you were an adult,
though. He isn't as honest around children because
he doesn't want to be the bad guy and ruin their
childhood, but sometimes he struggles with having
to lie and often needs comfort about it.

Sensitive
Unlike Cynthia, Arrow is openly sensitive and will
get offended and/or mad easily. He acquires a lot
of attention and she has to sometimes take him
off of her belt and wrap him up in her hand so that
way he doesn't feel like he is "just an accessory that
can't even get a good view of his surroundings". He
can be a bit of a whiny crybaby when he wants to,
but most of the time it's only when he is alone with
Cynthia so that way he doesn't embarrass her.

Cynthia was hand-made by an old lady who lived all alone in a little hut. The old lady made a living by
making wooden dolls and made a special outfit for each of her dolls. The lady sometimes thought of them
as friends since she had always lived alone in the poor little town. She was notorious for being called "the creepy
doll lady" by the younger children who ran around the filthy little town covering themselves in dirt.

The lady would often spend weeks making the doll perfect and almost human-like. If it wasn't perfect then
she would take it and use the scraps for emergencies such as a doll's arm breaking or a piece of the doll
was missing. Cynthia would quietly sit and watch the lady make more and more dolls as each week passed by.
It intrigued her that a lady would spend her life making dolls such as herself and just sell them. It wasn't an
easy task, but she truly enjoyed what she did and that made Cynthia feel warm and like she was at home.

One day, though, a little girl had wandered into the hut where the lady was polishing and dusting her dolls
off. Cynthia was immediately hostile and protective of the old lady, for she knew that children didn't give
her the respect that she deserved. She judged the girl and waited for her to shout some insults or try to
destroy some of her precious dolls, but it never happened. Instead, the girl sat down and complimented the
dolls and the lady's lifelong work. The old lady smiled and was truly happy that someone from the town
seemed to appreciate what she did. Cynthia sat confused and watched the girl walk around each of the dolls
that perfectly sat aligned on a board of wood. She looked very focused, like she was watching and waiting
to find one that caught her hazel eyes. Suddenly the girl stopped and admired in awe the doll before her.
"Your dolls are so beautiful... They're not like the cloth ones that my mommy finds abandoned." The girl
whispered as she reached her hand out to the doll but hesitated and changed her mind. "I would buy one
and cherish it forever if I had the money..." The girl smiled and turned away from the doll. Cynthia's mind
was swirling around. Her? Why did she like a blue haired doll when there were millions of blue-haired dolls
who had much prettier eyes and lips than her? Cynthia's view of the old lady was being hidden by the girl's
dark brown hair that seemed to curl towards the ends. "No one has money here..." The old lady whispered
and went over to Cynthia. "But no one appreciates my dolls here, either." The lady looked at Cynthia for
a long time and stroked her short hair before coming to a decision. "You aren't like the others here, though.
You are different. You have a heart of gold and you will go far." The lady smiled as she picked Cynthia up
and gently put her in the little girl's hands. "A girl like you deserves to have someone to watch over you.
Take my doll and take good care of her." The lady instructed to the little girl. The girl looked down at her
and smiled with tears in her eyes as she looked back up at the old lady. "Thank you... I'll take really good
care of her." She vowed as she left the hut.

It took Cynthia a very long time to adjust to her new life. Her new "home" was much dirtier than her
previous one. The behavior in the town was worse than what the lady had told her about. They were all
cold and heartless people who didn't care if they worked you to death or not if it meant their own personal
gain. It bewildered and scared Cynthia, but she was often comforted by the girl who was now taking care of
her. As well as the behavior, she wasn't used to being played with and given direct affection by anyone. Yes,
the old lady brushed her hair every day and polished her, but she didn't love her like this girl did. The girl
would play with her and she would always play as the poor girl who sailed across the sea to a new world that
was known as "America" or the "Thirteen Colonies." Cynthia learned to love all of this new attention and
liked to explore the forest with the little girl, even though they weren't supposed to go because of the
undiscovered animals that may lurk around there. She would always be in the girl's hand or sat down neatly
somewhere always watching over the girl. Cynthia even picked up some things from the girl from being
homeschooled, too. She would listen and watch the girl learn how to read and write. Cynthia adored listening
to her family's old customs and their history before having to move to the "new world". As each day passed,
the girl grew older and had more and more chores to do. She still kept the doll in her room though and talked
to her every day despite her mom telling her that "she's just a doll" and that "she isn't really alive". Cynthia
got more smart and wise as the girl grew up though, too and knew that it would soon be time for the girl
to pass her down to somebody else.

That day, though, wasn't quite what Cynthia had thought it would be.

Cynthia often sat under the floorboard of the girl's room and thought to herself a lot as she listened
to the girl clean and sing to herself these days. Cynthia couldn't help but long for the days when they would
giggle and pick flowers together for the girl's mom to lighten their mood up. She missed hearing the girl
talk about what she had learned. The one thing that hadn't been forgotten yet was the diary. The girl
would get Cynthia out and would put her by the diary as she'd get some ink out and write about her day. It
was Cyn's favorite time of the day and she'd sit and wait as the time passed for the girl to come and get
her out of her hiding spot to write her diary while admiring the doll.

Cynthia's daydreaming was abruptly cut off though by the sounds of screaming and guns. What was going on?
Was the girl she loved okay? Where was she? Cyn's mind spun around as she heard footsteps invade the once
peaceful household. There was a lot of blunt shouts and orders to rummage through everyone's houses and
grab what they thought looked valuable. Cyn felt herself break emotionally as she heard crashing noises and
lots thumping around. She could hear the mom cowering and crying while pleading for them to not destroy
everything, but she assumed she was being ignored. Cyn could only focus on the girl and pray that she
was okay and in a safe place and would soon come back to retrieve her.

The doll waited weeks before realizing that the girl wasn't going to ever come back for her. It killed Cyn
but she had a feeling that the girl was still alive and managed to escape from whoever did this to them.
She waited to be discovered by somebody but she was so well hidden that no one seemed to find her.

"Should I just tell her that she can move?" Arrow thought to himself as he laid in the girl's lap.
Arrow had previously been a good luck charm back in Britian but never was sold because they believed
it was some sort of "witchcraft". He was originally a necklace but over the time, the store owner threw
him out and a mother had picked him up and put him in her pocket. He traveled over the seas and
eventually the string broke on him. The mother had settled into a house and had left Arrow on the
ground on a mountain trail. He was discovered when the old lady was looking for more cloth to make
clothes for her dolls. She had taken him and cleaned him up and added him as a little "charm" to Cyn's
belt. Ever since that day he had bonded with the doll and had given her a conscious.

Arrow was a quiet shadow who preferred to not really talk for fear of Cynthia freaking out and rejecting
him for some reason. He believed that she had no clue about the bond or the fact that she has always been
a living doll with a consciousness. Arrow sat bored in silence as he waited for her to finally try to get up
and walk to find herself a new home or an adventure of their own. It occurred to him that he was going to
have to explain himself to her and she'd be very freaked out. He waited a few minutes before finally saying
something.

"Do you know that you are a living doll that can walk, right?" Arrow told her. Cynthia suddenly jerked
her head down in the direction which the voice had come from. "Who are you? Who said that? I'm alive? How
is that possible?" Cynthia asked as she looked around confused. "I'm your Shadow and we are bonded. I've
been here ever since you have been made and now we need to go."
He told her. Cynthia frowned as
more of what her belt was saying made no sense. "So, you are my belt known as a shadow and we are bonded?
How does that even work?" Arrow made a sigh-like noise as he realized that this was going to be a long day.
"I'm the little charm that hangs off of your belt. I can explain the rest as soon as you stand up and get moving.
We can't just stay here forever. We need to go and survive on our own. We don't need anyone else to take care
of us now because we have each other for company."
Cynthia looked uncomfortable and slowly moved her
arm around. "I can move. I've been able to move by myself this entire time and I didn't know about it!" She said
to herself still stunned. "That's what I've been trying to tell you for the past ten minutes!" Arrow watched
her move her arms around like the humans did but was waiting for her to still stand. "Okay, I'll try this..." She
said uneasily as she got in a crawl-like position and slowly stood up. "Whoa! This is really hard!" Cynthia clung
to the wall for support as she looked around bewildered. "Great job! Now how about you try to take some
baby steps?"
Arrow suggested to her. Cynthia nodded her head and quickly learned how to walk. "I can move!
This is amazing! Can every doll move?" She asked Arrow as she lifted up the hidden board and crawled out from her
hiding place. "Only the dolls that are bonded with a shadow." He simply answered her and then grew quiet
as they looked at the destruction of the house. Cynthia stood there stunned for a moment before finding her way
out of the house. "So where should we go now...?" She asked as she looked at the destroyed and abandoned town.
"Anywhere. We can go explore and see things that others haven't ever seen before." Cyn nodded her head
and walked in a straight line away from the town and never looked back.

Cynthia and her shadow bonded more and more as they walked on their journey and were faced with dangers
every day. She soon decided to name him "Arrow" because he always seemed to have a sense of direction at all times
and it fit him. Cynthia has only ever shown this emotional side of herself to Arrow and he only talks when they are
alone, when someone is talking down to her and takes up for her when angered enough, and when she needs support
if she ever breaks down and feels like she couldn't do something.

Now they roam around the world together and meet new and interesting people every day. Cynthia's favorite place
would be a little town in japan. She adores their customs and attire a lot and hopes to stay there one day if she ever
wanted to settle down and find a little dollhouse of her own. Arrow doesn't mind it either but would slightly prefer the
mountains rather than the flat and beautiful town there. Despite this, though, they have both agreed that if they did
find a place one day, it would lie between the mountain and town so that way they get what they both want.

Believe it or not but there actually is a reason as to why Cynthia wears her hair the way she does. When she was first "made" by the old lady, her hair was always down because the lady saw her with long and beautiful hair that went down to her waist. When the girl got her though, however, she always got the ends of Cynthia's hair knotted up and it got little things like dust and crumbs in it. One day while the girl was out in the woods, she saw an Indian wear her hair like that and the girl loved the hair style. She was too scared to wear it herself, though, because she would have been shunned and would have been called a "disgrace" by her family. Instead, she decided to give Cynthia the hair style so that way she would still get to see it every day! When the girl left, though, Cyn found comfort in knowing that it was one of the only things she had left of the girl. (besides the red cloth that the girl had wrapped around her wrist to match the girl since that's the only thing she had that matched both of them) She decided to continue wearing it instead of taking it down and it eventually grew on her. Now she never goes out without her hair being up on the side of her head. It makes her feel uncomfortable and "not like herself."
