(Accepted! Swimmer my wonderful friend, could you come up with a sign from the Glowing Ones saying that Mottled is to be the next leader? Petrichorwhisper will be Palekit's mentor. Mottlestar will be Inkpaw's mentor)

Okapicloud looked hopefully at Oddfoot. "Have you received a sign?" she asked. The prolonged silence from the Glowing Ones troubled her deeply. It had been four moons since Stripestar's death. IncandescentClan needed a leader.

Inkpaw awoke, lonely in the apprentice den. He stretched, his glowing yellow claws sliding from their sheaths. He got up and groomed his fur quickly, after doing so e set off to his older brother Oddfoot the medicine cat. Inkpaw felt as if he had let his parents down. His older brother Oddfoot was the medicine cat and his younger sister Ashpaw was the medicine cat apprentice. But Inkpaw, Inkpaw was just an ordinary apprentice. Oddfoot and Ashpaw had been chosen by the Glowing Ones to carry out the sacred role of medicine cat. Inkpaw hadn't been chosen for anything. He wasn't extraordinary in anyway. His hunting skills were poor his fighting skills were no better and he wasn't a handsome tom either. He'd been Stripestar's apprentice. But Stripestar was dead now. Inkpaw presumed that the next leader would take up his training.

Oddfoot's odd eyes fixed on Okapicloud. "Yes. They came to me last night. They..." The white tom stopped. "They chose Mottlednose for the next leader of IncandescentClan." The tom spat, flicking his tail. The usually cool tempered medicine cat was very, very mad, but he knew he couldn't lie. With a sniff, he added,"Sorry."

Okapicloud relaxed. Relief washed over her. IncandescentClan would have a new leader at last. "Oddfoot," she meowed, noticing his anger. "Why are you so angry?" she asked softly. She pressed her nose against her friend's shoulder, worry etched in her slim features.

Inkpaw listened outside the medicine cat den. Mottlednose? She was a good responsible cat, Inkpaw knew she would make a good leader and a good mentor. He'd always secretly looked up to Mottlednose. After all, she'd been taken by twolegs and she'd escaped!

(*Pants from exhaustion* Okay. I've finally finished coding all of the pages. Everything is up to date. Also the relationship post is up, so check it out and tell me if you want your cat to be on there!)

Oddfoot quickly regained his composure. "I'm sorry, my Clanmate, I don't know what came over me." He mewed, the quickly added, "Come, we must hold the ceremony at once!" With a blink of his glowing blue eye, the medicine cat padded out of his large den, still smelling strongly of herbs. The small tom leaped up onto the highrock(?) and called out. "Clanmates, it is time for IncandescentClan to have a leader!"

Inkpaw was knocked over by the force with which his brother came trotting out of the den. Just as he stood up his paws were swept from under him as another cat knocked into him. "Watch it!" he hissed furiously as he scrambled on his back.

Okapicloud blinked down at the tiny apprentice. "Oh Inkpaw! I'm sorry, I didn't see you there!" she meowed. She felt guilty for mentioning the black and white cat's size. Everyone knew that Inkpaw was small, unusually so, and height was a touchy subject with the small cat. "I wasn't watching where I was putting my paws-" Oh I did it again. "I wasn't paying attention, I was-"

Inkpaw sighed as he managed to right himself. He sat hunched, a sad look on his face. "Yeah I get it," he muttered. "The only way anyone ever sees me is by looking at their paws." The only thing that made Inkpaw different to his siblings was that he was small. Tiny. Even his sister Ashpaw was bigger than him. Looking up at Okapicloud made him feel like an ant. Okapicloud was a tall she-cat, but even Inkpaw from way down where he was could see that she wasn't sturdily built. She was just freakishly tall.

Petrichorwhisper was woken by Oddfoot's call. He groaned but got up and shook out his pelt. He stretched his back muscles and with a yawn, ambled out into the clearing. His thick fur made him oblivious to the chill that gripped the clan.

Tigersky groaned in disapproval, blinking open one teal eye. She sighed. It was a cold morning and she had been hoping to sleep in. As she walked out of the den the cold morning air hit her and she scoffed in annoyance.

[Silxe]

Mottlednose stepped out of her den, a small bundle of fluff bouncing after her. She took a seat and sat down next to Inkpaw. Palekit plopped down beside her, while Stonekit stayed in the back, away from all the others, but watching intently. She gazed over at Palekit and frowned. "Palekit, let me fix your fur. Your pelt looks like it got mauled by a badger." And she began to clean it.

"Aw, mom! I look fine!" Palekit protested, despite knowing it not to be true. "C'mon! They're announcing the leader! Just wait a bit." He meowed.

Mottlednose sighed and halted the grooming session. She turned her head back to the matter at hand.

Oddfoot sat down on his perch up above the Clan, waiting for his Clanmates to gather. Does it have to be her? I could still lie...choose someone else... The odd-eyed tom looked down at his claws as he sunk them in the earth. Looking up, he decided there where enough cats here to get this over with so he could go throw up in his den. "The Glowing Ones have spoken to me. They have chosen a leader for our Clan. Mottlednose, step forward."

[~Totally Insane~]

Petrichorwhisper nudged Mottlednose. "Stay here Palekit," he told the light kit.

Beside Oddfoot, Okapicloud stared down at Mottlednose with a smile. It was time for the new leader to be sworn in by the former leader's kin and the medicine cat. "Mottlednose, you were a good friend to Stripestar and are like family to most of us. I know Stripestar would have approved of the Glowing Ones' choice." Okapicloud knew that her part in this ceremony wasn't important. But clan law dictated that the closest kin of the former leader must say whether the former leader would have approved or not. She could have simply said 'Stripestar would have approved', but it was a special moment for Mottlednose, one the deputy did not want to ruin.

Oddfoot looked at Okapicloud with a smile. "Come forward, Mottlednose, and receive you new name." He mewed. Oh The Glowing Ones, I don't know the proper ceremony! Will she be rejected? He wondered, keeping a smile plastered on his muzzle.

[Silxe]

A surprised look crossed Mottlednose's features, and she rose up and padded up to where Oddfoot was perched. She took a seat next to him and briefly let a bashful smile cross her face. "This is an honour, Oddfoot. I will do my best as new leader of our clan. I hope I can live up to and surpass Stripestar's and the glowing one's expectations."

Palekit was bouncing from excitement. His own mom, leader! He felt such a joy, and barely kept his squeals of delight silent.

Stonekit simply smiled from her spot, feeling happy for her mother, she supposed.
