Isn't Acana wonderful? Pricey, but so worth it! :'D Glad to hear Dixie's doing great on it (nothing worse than dog toots ;-;).

Are you still doing agility with Dixie? Kora and I will be doing some agility stuff at a friend's place with our trainer and a few other people over the summer, just for fun, so I'd love to know how your pup is doing at it! c:

Unfortunately, not yet. D; I missed the last session because there was so much going on at the time and I didn't have any means of transportation; and the next session won't start up again until after August. Unless I can convince my Dad to drive me a wee bit more distance than the fairgrounds (where the club holds lessons) to a private trainer just outside of town. Otherwise, I may have to wait until I get my license (which is hopefully soon-ish now) and a car. :/

You're going to have to update me regularly and take lots of pictures to help my crave to start! :'D

Kora! She's so gorgeous! That reminds me, I need to take home more Chewie pictures lol. I've been soo busy with Annie that I keep forgetting lol.

Speaking of Chewie, tomorrow we are going on a nice long walk if the weather is good! (It's been too hot to walk him recently. Last two days have been nice (of course I was busy all day for both) so hopefully tomorrow is nice too!)

Princess is her normal spoiled self, she rules the sofa for the majority of every day. (I don't even try to exercise her in this heat, she does very well for a branchy dog but I don't risk it)

Annie is doing very well too! We did our first clicker lesson today and she quickly picked up sit and down! Her down might be the cutest thing ever, she lunges her little paws forward and like falls into the down position because she gets so excited lol. Had a mild mishap with the duck, she thought he was a toy... So tomorrow starts her spending more time around the poultry! (They weren't a big focus, but she does need to ignore them and not chase since they will free range in the pasture with her and the goats.)

I tried to snap a picture, but Jake moved before I could.

He's taken to sitting on the lower end of my chaise lounge chair that I sit in while on the computer. But he wont jump up here unless I tell him it's okay(that's only if I'm sitting here. If I'm not it turns into "move your meat, lose your seat"). And he especially knows he isn't allowed up here while I'm eating. So, I was eating my supper and he was standing near the end of the chair where he stands when he wants up here(He doesn't beg for food, he was taught that was no no while he was still a tiny puppy). When I finished eating and sat my bowl to the side, he gave me the most adorable puppy eyes and placed one paw on the chair! It was the cutest thing I have ever seen!

I was able to snap this picture though: (That's my mom's Rottweiler in the background. Her name is Roxie)


Jake had jumped up in the chair with me and lay down facing my leg. The entire time he was up here, he kept his nose pressed to either my foot or my leg. If I moved, he moved.


He is slowly becoming my little shadow and I'm dreading August. When I go back to college, I'll be living in the dorm, and will only be home on the weekend. I went to my home town a few weeks ago to visit my aunt and my dad and I was gone from Wednesday to Sunday. When I got back Sunday and sat down in my chair, he laid on top of me for a solid 30 minuets. I hate that I will have to leave him every week. I think I'll do the blanket thing again for his separation anxiety. I'll wash his blanket a couple times with my cloths, and then sleep with it for the week before I go back to school. I love him being all cuddly, and I'm not going to turn away his cuddles. But I worry about him when I leave.

Worked with Izzy again with some obedience more or less, it kept raining so Blu and I decided just to go home. Izzy and Ace were able to get a good run though.

Izzy is starting to do better with the whole listening thing now. She is obeying a lot better but this morning I hd to get upset with my mom. First of all she gave Izzy some coffee.... two I was cleaning the rabbits pen and let her run around the house and I told Izzy to lay down while Simona was out. (My mom was watching them and I was too, plus Izzy would never hurt her) anyway I just had Izzy do a sit stay and she listened. But eventually she got up and went to my mom and my mom started petting her and giving her snacks. Which I had to explain to my mom that it wasn't okay for her to do that because Izzy needs to learn to stay when I say stay. Because by my mom petting her and giving her food she is rewarding Izzy. Now my mom is more on board with it because I had to explain how she already ruined Izzy when I left to college......
But despite how stubborn Izzy can be she is being really good! Now I just need to work on a better recall and heel if I can figure out how to train it.

Blu and I will be taking Izzy and Ace hiking tomorrow morning so I am sure there will be pictures and updates

Her coat, I've always felt, was soft; but it's SUPER soft and shiny now. Everyone she meets always comments on her coat. ;v; She hasn't been having terrible farts or bouts of extremely bad breath (seriously, her breath would have occasions where I'd have to leave the room, because she'd "polluted" the entire room and it. was. rank. >__<)

That's supposed to be unusual for goldens, haha! They have a reputation for having comparatively better breath for some reason, which I'm pretty sure has to do with their drooly nature and cycling of saliva or something. Either way, it holds true for Edgar in that his breath is significantly better than my parents' more tight-lipped/jowled Shiba Inu mix. I'm glad Dixie is doing better now!:)

So proud of Foster-Mutt's (now known as Grace! It fits her <3) new mum. <3 Grace has been showing a bit of separation anxiety, so she's doing a lot of good reading and research.

I jinxed myself.
I have a hunch there was another factor at work, but Grace's mum called me last night and long story short, didn't think she would be a fair home for Grace since the dog was showing such severe signs of separation anxiety. (It had escalated to where she had busted out of her crate twice when she left to do laundry in the basement and her mum would have to be touching her and talking to her or else she would start whining and howling).
It was only 4 days - new place, new faces, new routine; so I kinda feel like if she had given her more time maybe? Who knows. :/ And what's done is done.

She really did try her best (in her defense, she'd never dealt with SA or any serious behavioral issues), but I don't think she was prepared at all. (And, btw, Grace is not showing any signs of SA since we picked her up last night - she went into her kennel readily for bed and settled down right away.) She'd spent over $200 at the vet, getting her shots, heartworm test and preventative, and 2 month flea and tick tablet. She'd even scheduled her spay appt for August and offered to pay for that. She was so upset and seemed like she'd really wanted it to work out. :/

For the most part, her breath never smelled (unless you count a very light doggy-breath smell - nothing unbearable). But oooonce in a while, she would have a day where her breath was UNBEARABLE. Like, REALLY bad. It was super odd? She hasn't had any bouts of it since we started on the new food though, so I'm hoping there was a connection there and we won't be enduring that anymore! :'D

To everyone: What could cause momentary bouts of terribly bad breath, but the rest of the time the dog's breath is fine?

This vacation has reaffirmed repeatedly that I am at max a 2 dog person. Dealling with 3 larger young-ish dogs is driving me banana's. It probably doesn't help that they are all under-stimulated and allowed to exhibit super rude behaviors like counter surfing/snatching right under your nose, jumping on you, stealling items.. ._.; It makes living with Juniper a pleasant experience.. Which is a pretty huge feat.

Yesterday I was in the kitchen pulling a hot pan of chicken from the the oven, turned, and immediately tripped over a dog laying in the very middle of the kitchen?! WHY ARE DOGS ALLOWED IN THE KITCHEN WHEN WE'RE COOKING. So last night and today all three have learned 'out' and know we mean it when we say it. My mother-in-law isn't pleased with us "Being mean to her poor abused babies" and I rreeaalllyy don't care at this point, being shoo'd out of a room is way better than having a hot pan dropped on them.

I Decided not to Adopt Jackson.If i did then i would need to wait a while in order to Foster. ANyways they accepted me. I start fostering in 4 months though.


Good news! Rolo and Twix got all of their papers and shot done! everything is done.
