Redstar looked at Partridgepaw. "If they are, then we will fight back. They don't outnumber us, so we should be ok," he replied softly.

Evaan pushed his way through the bracken into a clearing filled with weird stones. He lifted his nose and scented the air. That foul cat-scent was strong and fresh here. "Evaline," he meowed to his little sister, the white she-cat, "be on the lookout. They could still be here." He looked around. He saw a fluffy tail poking out from behind one of the rocks and growled. "Hey!" He called to the cat. If she was the only one, they could easily take down this territory and live here. It was perfect. "Shard, be ready to fight. This will be an easy takedown." He began advancing on Moonsong.

Redstar heard the conversation and snarled. "They're definitely a threat." He gave a flick of his tail and slid from the bush unnoticed. He whispered to Partridgepaw, "If you have the element of surprise, always approach from behind your enemy. The advantage is gaining the higher ground is that you can charge at greater speed at the enemy, who will be weakened by having to fight uphill. Also keep downwind of the trespassers so that your scent doesn’t give you away." It never hurt anyone to give some last minute tips.

[ partridgepaw - she-cat - apprentice ]
the brown-furred apprentice gave a quick nod, peeking above the fronds. "they must think that moonsong is the only cat who lives here!" she whispered, her pale gaze lighting up with fear. "they won't lay a claw on my mentor." taking the advice her father offered, she raised her hackles before preparing to pin the small white she-cat who seemed to go by the name of evaline.

[ shard - male - rogue ]
the russian blue tom lifted his head, his narrow face lit up by the faint sunlight flittering between the trees. "yes, sir. it's a small she-cat, nothing we can't just drown." the words rolled off his tongue nearly lackadaisically, venomous sarcasm coating them.

Redstar snarled and waited a heartbeat before letting out a furious screech as he charged the trespassers with his daughter behind him. He tackled the blue tom with teeth bared. He pinned him to the ground and kicked at his belly before the tom even knew what was happening. "Moonsong, get the brown one!" He ordered through the tom's fur as he bit down on his shoulder.

Evaan froze in shock as he heard a screech behind them. He didn't have time to react before that silver she-cat was on him, tearing into his flesh. He raked his claws across her face viciously and scrambled away from her grip. He looked at the odds. Three on three. There was a muscular red tom grappling Shard, Evaline and a brown she-cat fighting, and then the cat they called Moonsong fighting him. From the looks of it so far, Evaan knew they would win. He tackled Moonsong to the ground and bit into her leg, grinning as he heard her screech.

the blue tomcat hissed with anger before kicking the larger red cat off and leaping to his paws. his punctured shoulder stung, but he ignored the pain and rammed himself into the leader. after he had him pinned, he bit down on his scruff until he tasted blood. "take that, weakling," he snarled through stained fur.

[ patridgepaw - female - apprentice ]
the she-cat wildly kicked and clawed, unaware of who she was brawling. she'd never been the best fighter—hunting had always been her forte. feeling claws rake her skin and teeth sink into her leg, she yowled in agony before falling limp to the ground, dazed.

Stallioncry smiled. "That's great!" he mowed. "I'm sure with you as his mentor, hell make a fine warrior!" the tom purred. He pushed the prey over to Beartalon after having taken a bite.

Beartalon let out a hearty laugh. "All in good time!" He mewed, taking another bite of the prey. Pushing it towards him with a gentle brown pay, he asked, "Hey, do you want the last bite?"

Stallioncry shook his head. "No thanks, You can have it," he meowed. He tried to ignore the blush he felt under the fur on his face. Beartalon was a magnificent tom, and Stallioncry couldn't help but feel drawn to the handsome warrior. He admired Beartalon's resolve and kindness. In the whole time he'd known the big tom Stallioncry had never once seen Beartalon resort to violence. He admired that.

he watched as beartalon and stallioncry spoke and couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy. ignoring it, he reminded himself that he had never wanted a mate. he especially never wanted kits. ever since he was an apprentice, he was devoted to becoming a warrior and serving his clan only. he couldn't fight what he had set in stone so many moons ago.

"What are you looking at?" came a cool voice from beside Falconheart. It was Raptorfang. The dark she-cat looked at him through amber eyes, her face a mask of boredom.
