So sorry I haven't been on! I'm having the wors trouble with my internet, and we're also about to go on a camping trip in a few days for the Fourth of July here, so I won't be able to get on until next week. We leave on Thursday, so I won't be on Wednesday through Sunday this week)

Redstar smiled at his daughter and then at Moonsong. He wove through the trees, the bright sun filtering through the leaves and warming his back. He twitched his whiskers and smelled the air for a heartbeat before continuing on. They soon reached the Basking Stones, which were a pile of large, flat, sandy-colored stones in the center of a grassy clearing. He immediately caught a scent of mouse and crouched low. He snaked forward and caught a glimpse of the furry brown creature. He pounced and quickly snapped its neck, hoping he killed it quick enough. Thankfully, he did, and it didn't let out a shriek. He looked back at the other two cats with a smile hidden behind the rather large mouse in his jaws.

Beartalon padded up to his apprentice, Darkpaw. "Come on, let's go back to camp. We've gotten a good pile of prey." The giant tom mewed, picking up his catches with a flick of his tail and turning towards camp.

Darkpaw nodded. He trotted proudly beside his mentor with his tail high. He had a slight spring in his step as they headed home.

she watched as redstar caught the mouse before flattening her ears and tasting the air. the milky-white she-cat then disappeared into the fronds, only to reappear moments later with a sparrow tucked in her jaws.

Moonsong and the others reached the basking stones just in time. She smiled and nodded as Redstar caught the plump looking mouse and carried it back to them. Moonsong flicked her tail and scented the air.

Beartalon pushed his way into camp, depositing his kills on the very top of the fresh-kill pile. Good. This should keep it stocked for a while. Looking over at his apprentice, he mewed, "Darkpaw, bring something to the medicine cat and you can eat."

Darkpaw nodded. He dropped his catch on the pile but kept a pigeon. He walked over to the medicine cat den and slipped inside. "Sparrowsong, Songpaw," he meowed. "Beartalon wanted me to bring you something to eat," he called as he placed the fat pigeon on the ground.

Raptorfang yawned. "Stallioncry," she called in her hoarse voice. "Get me something dear brother?" she asked.

Stallioncry, who had returned to camp with his catch snorted at his sister. "Get it yourself lazy!" he told her. But he picked her up a mouse and took it to her. "You're lucky I love you," he joked, dropping the mouse on her head. He chuckled at her indignant huff. He picked up a shrew for himself and headed over to Beartalon. "Want to share?" he offered with a warm smile. "I'd love to hear how Darkpaw is going!"

Redstar dropped his prey on the ground and told Partridgepaw to do the same. "That is a very good catch, Partridgepaw," he praised. He opened his mouth the scent the air, but then his ears pricked up in alarm and his eyes grew wide. The scent of enemy cats drifted towards him. He growled deep in his throat as he caught a glimpse of three cats making their way towards the Basking Stones. They hadn't quite seen him or the two others, so he whipped around and hid underneath a ledge beneath one of the rocks. He beckoned the two others to join him and hissed, "Moonsong, do you see those three cats there? I want you to grab the prey and got awards them. Partridgepaw and I will circle around and surround them. I want to know why they are here." He cast a glance back at the intruders. There was a lean blue-grey tom, a large, muscular brown tabby, and a smaller white she-cat. "Partridgepaw, follow me," he ordered, and slipped away quietly towards the tree line as the three intruders just broke the tree line on the opposite side. He looked at Moonsong and nodded, then circled around silently around the intruders. He froze and ducked himself under a bush, with enough space beside him for his daughter. He kept an eye on the cats.

Beartalon whipped around. He didn't hear Stallioncry approach him. Ear tips growing warm, he gave the tom a warm smile. "Sure, thanks!" He purred. Sitting down with his Clanmate, the tom spoke. "Darkpaw is doing very well- I'm surprised how quickly he's learning." He mewed, taking a small bite of the prey.

quickly following after redstar, she sized up the smaller she-cat and unsheathed her claws. "what if they're hostile?" she whispered in question. "if they have intentions to hurt us, do we fight back?"
