"As sure as I can be right now." she replied. In truth, she didn't really know how safe they really were. She didn't know how long it would be before the rogue pack came back and launched an attack, or tried to steal the kits again. But instead of saying that, she asked "Hey, why don't we play a little game of moss ball with your brother?" She hoped it would cheer up the poor, frightened kit. "Mmm... I'm sure you would have, you tough tom." she joked with Bearkit, whom she could tell was scared, even just a bit.

Vinekit squeaked when his brother nudged him, but looked up at Spottedkit. "I guess," he said, looking down. "But I'm real scared. What if she comes back?"

Being comforting wasn't exactly something she was good at, but she tried. "I'm scared, too. Everyone is. And it's OK, because even the toughest warrior gets scared." she said, and looked out the mouth of the den. "Great Starclan, is it still raining?" she asked, then came up with an idea. She looked over at her leader, who was obviously very confused about what had just went down. She leaned in and whispered "I have an idea... Just watch. It'll be good." and smiled. She grabbed a stick from just outside the nursery with her mouth and got a big gobbet of mud on it. Then, after looking back at the two kits in the nursery, walked up to Rainstar and, when she was a couple tail-lengths away, flung the mud onto her. She then dropped the stick and ran back the the nursery, giggling.

She purred "Okay. Be good, alright? I'm always here if you need me."

He purred happily "Bye, sis!" he turned to Orchardkit "Amazing. I finally get to talk to her sister without her tearing my throat out."

Vinekit forced a smile and looked up at the older kit. "Good one," he mewed, but he still could not hide the worry he felt.

Rainstar - Female - 80 moons
Rainstar jumped slightly as something semi-solid and cold collided with her. She spun around, eyes wide, to see a muddy stick near her and a silhouette disappear into the nursery. Rainstar opened her mouth to say something but quickly closed it again, shaking her pelt off. She turned and started walking, "I'm going back in my den." As she walked she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Though the threat was gone, her body was still full of adrenalin and anger. "Someone please patrol the west border and make sure our scent marks are strong." were the last words she said before her tail disappeared into the darkness of her den.

Bearkit watched with wide yellowy-green eyes and giggled. "I think you broke Rainstar!"

He slowly padded over to her den and took a step in "Rainstar, are you okay?" he asked quietly.

She smiled in amusement, looking from kit to kit. She knew Vinekit was still a little scared, but that was inevitable. Who wouldn't be scared when a rogue just attacked... Or rather, threatened to attack and almost followed through with it, and is a part of a larger pack of cats who could be more dangerous? Let alone, them being surprisingly related to one of her new clanmates and leaving so abruptly. You're overthinking things, you furball! she yelled at herself in her thoughts. At Bearpaw's comment on Rainstar's reaction, she chuckled quietly. "I just may have." she said, but was actually a little worried she had made her really mad. Did I make her mad? Is she gonna throw me out of the clan for that? Should I have done that? Will I get punished? No, stop criticizing yourself! "Now that I think about it, moss ball is probably not a very good idea with all this rain and wind. What do you wanna do?" she asked the younger kits.

Fogpelt was now thoroughly confused by the events that had just taken place, but decided not to think much of it as Rainstar called for a patrol to go check out the integrity of the west border. He sighed, shaking his head and looking at Sparrowclaw, "We might as well go take care of it since she's asking. I'll explain on the way."
