"Uhh sure." She stammered, being forced out of her thoughts. She stood and raised her voice, saying, "Pebblestep was optimistic, yet brave. He was very cheerful to his clanmates and while he did make trouble sometimes, nobody's perfect. He hardly got to enjoy his warrior duties, but we can all agree that he had the heart of one. He will be missed, but i know that Starclan will welcome him." She sat down silently after her little obituary.

She nodded lightly at the queens words."Thank you GrainClaw. Who will go next?" She questioned, a tired tone in her voice as she spoke.

Arropaw said " I'm heading back to camp." She started padding off with her hare and vole, and then she started breaking into a run. She smelled blood as she got closer to camp, hoping everything was ok. When she arrived, she saw all of the cats circled around a body. She saw black fur, a bit small, then whispered in deep grief " Pebblestep..." She ran over, dropping her vole and hare, and then started crying. " No... who did this!" She had an expression that was sad, yet full of rage at the same time. She fell to the ground in tears, saying " Why... why did you have to go?"

She looked up as ArrowPaw appraoched. Her gaze quickly dropped."ArrowPaw..." She meowed, lifting her gaze."PebbleStep was killed. But the killer is now dead." She meowed.

Pikefang continued mourning silently, unable to say anything else. His throat was dry, yet his entire face was saturated with tears. How could this happen to his apprentice? Laying down, he wrapped his bushy tail around his face, hiding his glaze jade eyes. Nothing would be right after this.

Batpaw glanced at her, smelling her grief. Hearing her words made his milky turquoise eyes widen. "How?" he mewed, unable to fathom it. But, unlike the others, he didn't cry. As soon as he smelled the salty tear on Sunpaw's face he stiffened, but didn't back away. Continuing his listening, the ebony tom shook his head. "I hope she did," he said, his calm voice slightly colder than usual. Unable to take it, he lifted his tail and flicked the tear away gently. No one deserved this... pain. Turning, he sniffed the air, hearing Snailpaw and Anterlclaw come in; he guessed that the she-cat apprentice already knew what was going on, being able to seem unlike him. Just as he was determining whether or not to say anything Arrowpaw burst in wailing. His jaw tightened. "If only I could see.." he hissed lowly, trailing off realizing his voice coated with an icy venom that really wouldn't help the situation. But if I could...

She sighed sadly and looked towards PikeFang. The mentor was broken. Her ears lowerd sadly and she gave a few licks over PebbleSteps forhead. It was going to be SunHigh soon, and so the elders had to go bury the warrior in the burial place.

Arrowpaw growled " Whoever did this deserved to die." She sniffed, then put her nose in Pebblestep's cold fur. A tear rolled down her face, then she said " He didn't deserve to die." She closed her eyes, her heart filled with grief and pain.

Sunpaw sighed, then said " He didn't deserve to die. Not like this." She looked up at Arrowpaw, then said " I'll get the chamomile and thyme. Maybe a poppy seed." She padded off into the medicine den, coming back out, then padded over to Arrowpaw, saying " Take these. It will help you calm down and sleep."

Antlerclaw bristled in annoyance, but watched his apprentice leave. He carried his own vole back towards the direction of camp, feeling ridiculous, but stiffened at the scent of blood. He followed it, finding it led to ghe body of a young rogue. Alarm shot through him and he sniffed the pelt, picking up Pebblestep and Ivyvine's scents. They must have killed him. He hurried to camp, but stopped upon seeing his apprentice with her muzzle buried in Pebblestep's shredded and bloody fur. His throat tightened, and he carried his and her prey to the pile before seating himself down, watching Arrowpaw mournfully.

Snailpaw crouched down where she was, curling her tail around herself. She didn't want to be in camp right now. But she also didn't want to leave. What if there were more out there? How did whoever killed him get away with it? How did they do it without being caught?

Batpaw watched her go, wanting to tell her to save the herbs; if anything, Arrowpaw would reawaken and grief harder after resting better with dreams of the past and perhaps future. But, he kept his maw shut; the blind tom padded over to Snailpaw, head lowered. "How are you faring?" he asked then, his milky turquoise eyes locked on Snailpaw. He imagined not well... after all, a life was taken, unfairly. It was just... wrong.

Pikefang shifted numbly beneath Ravenstar's tongue, hardly even feeling a thing. But her words struck a cord. He was going to be buried soon; the tom wanted go grooming him one last time. Forcing himself to his paws, the large tom hobbled over wordlessly and pressed his nose to his dead apprentice's pelt.
