He grinned when Foxpaw's eyes narrowed at him abut one look at Snowpaw, he quickly shut up and let the other go on against his will. With the silence, Foxpaw did continue, "I pulled her back up but before I did, I guess she slammed her leg against a tree branch. Now it's broken and she'll never be able to walk again. Ugh... why couldn't she have just listened to me?"

Venomfang had since split off in a different direction and that left Silvertail to head off her own way. After a long while, she caught the sscent of Mistpaw and her head flooded with relief. Still, her apprentice was nowhere to be found and she found him calling his name loudly in hopes that she would get a response, "Mistpaw! Mistpaw, can you hear me?" She knew he was somewhere close...

He yawned and padded lazily through the rain, calling out Mistpaw's name very unenthusiatically. Oh well... I tried. He hopped to the shore of the river and watched that rain crash into the water rhythmically. He was tired and still had his mind on the night previously when he'd snapped at Fawnstep like an idiot. Why? Why do you do these things? I don't know... Things had gone so well earlier, he thought. Maybe it was for the best that he was already pushing the she-cat away. Forming an attachment at this point in the game was ridiculous and he hardly had time for it. How the she-cat had managed to make him forget who he really was, was the biggest mystery of all. Whatever, just focus on the task at hand. Which was? Oh yeah... "Mistpaw," he spoke quietly with a yawn as he kicked rocks into the river next to him.
