It usually takes her about 3 weeks to one month, depending on how many positions and spots there are to fill.

I was wondering if we don't get accepted ( and I'm sure a lot of us won't) when will the next opening be?

And if we do get accepted, and we have something in rl that makes us not as active, will we have to be demoted to being a normal user again?

Tess usually opens up applications once a year. You can apply again then, if you do not get chosen.

No, unless you go away without telling anyone for an extensive amount of time. You can send a help ticket in to the admins to let them know you'll be gone, and you can always step down from your position at any time.

You may apply for as many positions as you would like, as long as you meet the age requirements.

The only changes you get as a General Helper is that you get a salmon colored name so that newer, or older, members may contact you with questions about the site. You will also get access to some of the tickets in the help ticket system, other than that there are no other special benefits.

If you don't know the answer to a question then you let another General Helper/Staff member who knows the answer get to it or if it is a PM you can ask for help from other General Helpers/Staff.

And also, I think it would be useful to have a poll on this thread, so people know how many people applied for what, and therefore how good their odds are of being selected. If that's not an option for this thread, I wouldn't mind opening a discussion thread to host such a poll.
