Those symbols on the scythe are just some old runes, I believe. Only Grim knows what they mean. (;
And, considering Grim is a 7"5 bulky lord of death, with great strength as well as powerful soul magic, lifting heavy objects isn't very difficult for him. He probably likes it to be heavy, too, that way no one else can use it 8D
