She woke to the pitter-patter of rain pounding on the nursery. She could hear the wind howling, but poked her head out of the den anyways. Her head was instantly drenched, but she wasn't instantly weighed down because her fur wasn't too long. With a sneeze, Spottedkit stepped all the way out of the nursery and let the rain wash over her pelt. It was refreshing, but a little cold. After coughing a couple times, she retreaded back into the nursery, where she wouldn't have to worry about getting wet too much.

She closed her eyes for a second, finding what was right. She finally opened her eyes and looked at Mildtail "I love being medicine cat so much. The herbs and helping cats is amazing. At the same time, Coalkit is important to me. I will become a warrior if it means that I can raise him." she said, feeling her heart brake. She was giving up her one true passion for her kit.

He heard Bluefeather and he walked over, tears in his eyes "Mom, no. I want you to be happy. If it means I am raised by someone else, so be it."

Mildtail waited and watched Coalkit silently as he talked to his mother and didn't interfere. She felt like it would be good for the two to talk this out themselves, so she dipped her head and dismissed herself going back to the herbs to organize them silently.

"Maybe we can go pop our heads in or something," Emberpaw suggested shaking out his pelt in a vain attempt to get the water out. Without waiting for her reply, he started forward with a hop in his step and turned to face her, walking backwards and tail high, "You comin'?"

Hollowkit watched silently from the very back of the nursery and followed Spottedkit with her gaze. After a while, she sneezed loudly and a dribble of snot snuck out of her nose which she wiped away quickly. It had rained before in Marshclan but never this hard and she didn't like it at all. With a frown she addressed Spottedkit, "Rain is bad. Whys is it so cold?"

She put on a fake smile "Listen, your needs come before mine. I want to take care of you. I love you so much and even if I have found something I love to do, I will give it up." she turned to Mildtail "I am giving up my position as medicine cat apprentice." she said quietly.

Coalkit)

His tail drooped as he looked at them with big, sad eyes. He walked out of the camp and ran, feeling the rain on his fur.

Snowpaw - Female - 9 moons - talking to Emberpaw
"Right behind you! Or er- in front of you?" She meowed holding back a chuckle at Emberpaw walking backwards. She bounded forward to walk beside him but faltered a bit as a small black kit bolted out of the medicine den and into the forest. "Who was that?" Snowpaw asked.

He growled "They will all be sorry for this someday." he ran faster, not caring where he was going.

She didn't see Coalkit run out of camp, but she did hear Hollowkit's question. She sighed, looked at Hollowkit, and said "The rain makes it cold, but I don't understand how, or why. I don't really like rain." She then decided to brave the rain and dashed out to grab a piece of fresh-kill. She grabbed a small squirrel for her and Hollowkit to share and brought it back to the nursery. "Wanna share?" she asked her friend.

Listened quietly and frowned when the kit ran from the nursery and she dipped her head at Bluefeather's decision, "You are going to be an excellent mother Bluefeather. Coalkit is so incredibly lucky to have a cat like you for a mother. Take your responsibility seriously. I know you must not think it, but this choice you made is a gift from Starclan and they will give you their blessing. Treat it with tender care." She bowed her head to the she-cat, humbled by her choice if not saddened by it. She would need to tell Rainstar about this so she turned to head out of the camp and before she disappeared, she looked back at the she-cat, "I suppose I'd start by bring the kit back and teaching him a bit of clan ways."

He fell in step beside Snowpaw and followed the black kit with his gaze, brow arched and he shook his head, "Who even knows... With so many new cats everyday, I'd say he just stumbled on in and we decided to adopt him like the rest of the clan." He perked up however when they entered the medicine cat den and his eyes landed on who was inside. "Hey... I know this she-cat. This is the one I met earlier. I-"

"Who are you?" Foxpaw interrupted the orange apprentice who entered the den and his fur bristled cautiously. He watched him and the other white she-cat when recognition sparked in his eyes when he got a closer look at the two of them. The orange one he barely recognized but the white she-cat had been in his territory only yesterday. Before he could say anything about it the orange idiot spoke again, his expression the epitome of stupidity and arrogance. "Oi, that's not a very nice way to greet me and my dear friend. And shouldn't I be asking who you are?" Foxpaw shuffled on his paws nervously at the other tom who looked like he was ready to get in a fight at any second. That's the last thing he wanted and he stared at the ground, replying in a small voice, "Foxpaw."

Hollowkit looked at the prey and frowned for a brief second as she usually liked to eat birds because she liked the way teir skeletons looked after you picked them clean but she supposed that the squirrel would be warm and just as tastier. Filled with renewed enthusiasm, she nodded and crouched down next to Spottedkit, "This looks good, too bad you had to go out into the rain to go get it. I wouldn't have." She took a bite and was right when the prey warmed her belly considerably and she didn't feel so crummy anymore.

She smiled brightly at the medicine cat's words "Thank you so much. I promise I will. That means a lot to me, knowing that you support my choice." she dipped her head back and thought for a second "Yes, thank you. That would be a good start."
