"First, a kit old enough to be an apprentice named Flamekit appeared in Snakescar's den with a broken leg and tail."
Whispers of excitement rippled through the crowd.
"A few days later, two other kits, Nightkit and Dawnkit, wandered into the camp by mistake."
The crowd went silent.
"Snakescar went to the Moonice for advice, and got a prophocy:
When the Night loses the Light of Dawn, the bright Flame will lead the way."
Nightpaw looked wide-eyed at Dawnpaw. She would lose her?!
"Nightkit and Dawnkit were given their apprentice names, Nightpaw and Dawnpaw, but Flamekit's ceremony was delayed because of his leg. Soon after, a loner named DarkClaws turned up on our territory, hunting. Send out extra patrols, keep a look out for him."
With that, Whitestar stepped back.

Just because you have so much news doesn't make your Clan better than any of ours! Sandpaw thought, clawing the snowy grass beneath her paws. That mousedung eating jerk! Suddenly Sandpaw thought how foolish she was acting. She sighed and continued to listen.

"But Whitestar forgot something," Breezestar said. "A few cats from NightClan turned up on SunClan territory. There was no fight, because they were tracking the loner. But still, once he crossed onto SunClan territory, they shouldn't've gone farther. But the first cat who did was apprenticed yesterday, she didn't know."
Yowls of dissiproval and angry looks at the NightClan cats erupted from SunClan cats.
