"I... uh... I said..." Shandra stuttered as she realized what she had let slip. She tried to think of a cover up, but decided to just be honest when nothing came to mind quick enough. "I... I said that I thought you are almost perfect," she said sheepishly, and closed her eyes, waiting for him to be angry.

"Not as good as you, then." said Ali.

Shandra opened her eyes in surprise and looked at Ali. "You mean... your not, angry?" she asked, her tail tip beginning to twitch.

"I'd have to say, I'm the happiest I've been in years!" said Ali. "The whole reason I wanted to talk was to say that, well, I love you Shandra."

"Really?! Do you mean it?" Shandra asked hopefully as her tail began to wag.

"Yes." was all Ali could say. He was so happy that Shandra seemed excited.

"Hearing you say that makes me happier than I ever remembering being, because I love you too," Shandra said ecstatically, a smile spreading across her face and her tail thumping audibly against the ground.

Ali put his paw on Shandra's. "I'm so happy you just said that." He said.

"Not as happy as I am," she said and nuzzled his neck affectionately.
