Everyone in the town of Black Oak has seen the wolves who gallop fearlessly among the fresh winter snow, hidden only by the forest. What the sleepy mining town doesn't know is that these wolves are actually a pack of werewolves, "The Forest's Keepers". You see, while most creatures hibernate in the winter... werewolves shift into their wolf form and flee into the forest until winter's chill recedes, for if they stay in human form during winter they would slowly freeze to death. However winter is the hardest time, because it is when the enemy comes around. The Keepers are sworn to protect the forest, and the humans who live in it. When winter comes The Keepers face their one enemy. A rival pack of werewolves with one goal, To wipe out all humans! One cold winter night, the elder leader of The Keepers is found murdered. He was literately ripped apart. A new strong leader has stepped up to take his place and all seems well. Until the new leader proves to be a cruel monster. He forces the pack to join their arch enemies and they begin to kill humans.

Slowly people begin to go missing from Black Oak, only to be found on the outskirts of the woods, torn apart... murdered by animals... All the while a young werewolf named Finn, struggles with his conscious. He knows what is happening his wrong, that they are supposed to protect these people, not kill them. But Finn, like his fellow pack-mates, knows better than to speak out against the alpha. It isn't until one night when a teenage girl is brought to the camp, to be killed the next day, does Finn know what he must do. While the pack sleeps Finn helps her escape, once she is safe he vanishes back into the woods. The pack is baffled by her disappearance, but they move on. Finn however can't help but feel that they will go back for other humans, so he often goes to sit at the edge of the forest that surround Black Oak. Finn did this regularly and a few times humans saw him. However, the alpha soon discovers of his exploits.
