Sam paused at the shoreline, thinking Carter would maybe want some help entering the water. He was shocked when she went straight in, and he quickly followed after. The water was still warm, rather odd for a sunset, but a good surprise nonetheless. Suddenly, he felt the splash of salty water hit his face, and laughing, he ran his hand over his now wet hair. With a mischievous grin, he dove in after her.

Swimming deeper into the water, he finally felt Carter's presence in front of him and quickly took the chance to place his hands around her waist and lift her from the water, chuckling. "Welp, I just did." He teased with a smirk.

I squealed when I felt hands around my waist and I immediately knew it Sam. Twisting my body so I was facing him, I punched his arm lightly. "You scared me!" I exclaimed before pushing my hair back with my fingers.

Sam chuckled, then quickly put on another joke. He pretended to gawk, looking hurt at her 'punch'. "Oh, that hurt!" He murmured, laughing quickly after. Turning, he looked at the sky. Several blurred colors of purples and oranges washed over him, and he couldn't help but enjoy it a little bit. The water was beginning to turn cold, so he looked back at the pretty brunette he had been spending time with.
"Well, it's getting a little dark. Do you want to go back or stay here and be little miss rebel?" He said, his lips turned upwards in a smirk.

"We should go back." I said with a shiver. Crossing my arms over my chest, I began to walk towards the shore rather then swim. The sun was almost completely gone, only leaving a few colors over the sea. Once I was back at my towel I picked up my phone and placed it on my shirt before shaking my towel of the sand. "Did you bring a towel?" I asked Sam as I huddled the cloth for warmth.

Sam nodded, walking out of the water alongside her. It was then he realized how cold it had suddenly gotten, but not one to appear "weak", he braved through it and walked to his shirt. He ran his fingers through his wet, unruly hair and grabbed his shirt, sliding it on his torso. He looked at her as she held the towel tightly for warmth. Samuel simply smiled, "Nah, I'll be alright. Let's go." He said, walking with her back to the house. He desperately wished to put his arm around her, simply out of habit, but he decided it probably wouldn't be the best idea. After all, maybe this girl had someone else? Despite the grief that would cause him, he repected her still and continued to walk alongside her.

Sam followed her inside, greeted by the pleasant warmth of the house. He couldn't help but grin like a fool when she asked to exchange numbers, but quickly wiped the childish look off his face. "Oh, uh, sure," He said, regaining his thoughts. "My phone is in my room. Maybe you could come with me? It'll be quick." He said, feeling rather embarrassed that he had left his phone. However, if it meant more time with her, Samuel had a list of excuses prepared.
