Mildtail dipped a solemn farewell to Bluefeather and followed the leader to her den with her tail drooping and her expression deep in troubled thought. When they were in the privacy of the den, Mildtail sat and curled her tail around her paws anxiously as she gazed up at Rainstar. Clearing her throat, she finally spoke, "First things first, what do you think of the new kit?" The tip of her tail twitched every now and again though her body seemed certain and relaxed.

As the duo walked along, Fawnstep suddenly felt the warmth of Venomfang's side fade from her her own. The automatic fear that she may have done something wrong lingered in the back of her mind as she turned to look for the elusive tom. Instead of heartbreak, the she-cat was faced with an actual miracle. Before her very eyes, a never-before-seen event was taking place. Venomfang, cool and collected Venomfang, was leaping with pure joy into rather large pile of leaves. Fawnstep was soon showered in said leaves as they burst in all directions and landed on her back and head. She shook her pelt free of them, looking at the tom with a rather amused expression. Of course, what ensued afterwards was a slew of empty threats that made her grin as she stifled a bought of laughter. As the leopard-pelted feline seemingly dissappeared into his new home with a silently mouthed 'good-bye', the she-cat approached the occupied pile with a playful caution, gingerly sticking her paw inside. "I can only imagine the vast number of spiders crawling all over you in there. Gross."

Venomfang felt the pile move and watched as a paw entered his silent domain.as the owner of the paw muttered something about spiders. He let out an amused chuckle swatted at the paw lazily before shooting back up and into a sitting position. A rather large leave was currently pretending to be a hat and he shook it off, smirking at the she-cat a mouse length away from him, "Don't tell me that our very own Fawnstep is afraid of spiders or anything?" His tail worked and flicked leaves at Fawnstep from in the pile. Though it was so hot all the time, the leaves were cool and damp against his pelt. Fawnstep was missing out. Really, she was.

comet narrowed her eyes as well. she replied harshly,"i sincerely apologize. but with your mindset, are you saying we shouldn't fend for ourselves either?" she didn't like this cat at all, for her mouth to feed was hers and she didn't get the aspect of sharing fresh kill when what's yours should be yours.

He seems fine and I see he's already making friends with the other kits. I am concerned though that he may take after Bluefeather - I haven't forgotten her.. incident when she joined the clan. Hopefully he is young enough that he can be well socialized to life in this clan." As she spoke Rainstar crouched down, tucking her paws underneath her and letting her tail absentmindedly sweep the floor behind her.

"Should we ask the kit of his history or leave the past in the past. He is, after all, merely a kit of three moons and can be easily taught the values of a warrior. But the issue is not particularily Blood in this case. I fear Bluefeather's mind is clouded and her motives will be changes. We can not have a medicine cat who disregards the path of a medicine cat so easily," Mildtail hung her head in a troubled manner. Her eyes looking at the ground with a deep concentration and a furrowed brow as she continued, "Truth is, I'm not sure what to do. But I know that she cannot be a medicine cat and care for a kit at the same time."

Silvertail dropped her jaw in disbelief at this she-cat's reaction and Silvertail pinned her ears back and her eyes narrowed. "Fend for yourself anywhere but here, rogue. As clan cat's we share our kills honorably and with selflessness. All you ever do is steal for yourself with no regards for others. By all means, live by yourself and feed yourself. But do not feed yourself with the food you find here." Her tail lashed irritably from side to side and her claws unsheathed themselves again as she watched this rogue cautiously.

Fawnstep frowned, her ears flattening in embarassment, "You wouldn't like them either if you'd ever been bitten by one. I missed a whole week of training as an apprentice because my paw was so swollen." She shuddered at the memory. Fawnstep, Fawnpaw at the time, had been playing with one of the small eight-legged creatures after it wandered into her nest. It was actually quite fun, but things took a turn for the worse when said spider sank it's fangs into the pad of her forepaw. She didn't think much of it since the bite didn't hurt, but, low and behold, a few days later she was going to the medicine cat with an infected spider bite and an incessant urge to chew her foot off. Fawnstep sighed, feeling kinda defeated, "...But yes. Yes, I may have a teensy fear of spiders."

"What were you doing? Playing with it or something?" Venomfang asked, hopping out of the piles and shaking the leaves and dust off his pelt with a wide yawn to complete. He joined the clan as an apprentice after Fawnstep had been newly named a warrior. He still remembered the naming ceremony and watching her sit vigil for a couple minutes before retreating back to the apprentice's den for much need sleep. His mentor had worked him hard to make up for his loss of claws, but for the most part any fighting moves that the tom picked up were self taught. "Don't answer that, I hardly care," he flicked her with his tail and didn't say anything else, his colder and distant personality returning ever so slowly. It was about time to. He'd begun to fear that he was getting soft all of a sudden over some she-cat. "Well, distractions aside - sorry about that - we should continue back to camp. Wouldn't want any spiders crawling out from their holes to prey on cats a hundred times larger than them, eh?"
