trying to survive is like trying to get warm in the freezing cold.
some cats still live in their house, believing nothing has happened. what will you do?

She padded through the trash, sniffing some piles for food or shelter. Finding a small space
between two couches, she explored inside and marked her scent.

Ratter

The ginger and white tom walked stiffly across the old, cracked road. He couldn't help but glance swiftly in both directions, even though he knew that the cars had long since stopped running. He quickened his pace and padded past large piles of garbage. A mottled black tail disappearing between two couches caught his attention, causing his pace to falter as he stopped to test the air. The molly was marking her scent. He padded closer, his hackles bristling defensively. "Who goes there?" he called, trying to get her attention.

She yowled abruptly, being surprised at the voice that came from aways. "I'm a cat." She said. "And my name is Blinky." She hissed and poked her head out of the corner of the first couch.

Ratter

With a lash of his tail, Ratter opened his jaws slightly to take in the molly's scent. He peered at her as she stuck her head out of her hiding place. She appeared to be frightened by his sudden appearance, which he had guessed by her yowl. He snorted and let his fur lie flat. He sat down and licked his paw, trying to be nonthreatening. "Hello, Blinky. I take it that this is your territory?" he inquired, tilting his ears toward her.

Her fur settled as she looked around then spoke, "Well, just this teepee of couches, I suppose. I was looking for a safe territory, but i guess this isnt as inclosed as id like..." She meowed with an open of the jaws, trying to scent him, then noting, if they ever crossed paths again, he is not a sign of danger. "What's your name?"

Ratter

The ginger and white tom flicked his tail tip and looked at the couches, noting the many awful stains and tears in them. "So it seems," he said quietly, before turning his pale green gaze back on her. His left ear twitched as she asked him his name. "I'm called Ratter," he replied. He then proceeded to lick his right paw and draw it over his ear.

"Okay then, Ratter." She meowed. "How about you and me explore this lot?" She asked the stranger, then came out of the couches, revealing the rest of her body.

The ginger and white tom nodded as the tortoiseshell molly stepped out from her hiding place. He stood and flicked his tail. "Sure. Would you like me to lead the way?" he asked her, turning his light green eyes on her brown ones.
