I smiled at Marshcloud. Then I frowned over at Graypaw. Well. I couldn't worry about him right now. I needed to check on the sick cats.

Greypaw smiled at Flarepaw. "How are you?" he asked the other apprentice.

I closed my eyes for a moment. I had to check on the sick cats. Now. I stood up and coughed. And froze, rooted to the spot. To most cats, it would be natural sounding. But I could hear the thickness of it, the gunk in my chest. Moving as though nothing was wrong, I pressed my muzzle to Graypaw's ear. "I love you, Graypaw." I whispered before heading to the twoleg den.

He stopped talking to Flarepaw and froze in place as Sparkpaw coughed. It was defiently not a normal cough. He remembered Dovekit coughing earlier and gasped. "Sparkpaw wait!' he called after her. "I think you have... black cough!"
