Royalty in Disguise(Midieval/Kingdom RP, Semi Lit+)

For centuries, the kingdom's of Costia and Terrae have coexisted peacefully together, as their Kings were brothers who got along very well. But, a year ago, the king of Costia died of a sudden illness. His son, who disliked Terrae because the disease that killed his father originated there. He thought that it had been spread intentionally to displace his father, so a month after he was crowned, he made war on Terrae. Costia was weak from the sickness already, and he overthrew the rival king easily. He combined the two kingdoms into an empire he named Bellos, and he brought his brother and sisters, as well as his widowed mother who had caught the sickness, to a fortress in the nearby mountains. He stopped supplies to the people of Terrae, claiming it was to protect merchants from the sickness, and ordered that no one go in or out, posting heavily armed guards at each gate to enforce this.
The royal family of Terrae was also devastated. The queen and her three daughters were publicly degraded to commener status, stripped of their wealth and titles, and let out onto the street. The lone son, who was to be heir one day, was humiliated further by being made to be the new king of Bellos' personal servant. Will these royals turned paupers ever get back their rightful places? Will the new empire ever fall? It's up to us roleplay era to decide!

You may make your character(s) another species, but they can have no other special powers other than being another species. I may allow some minor powers related to their species, but Pm me about it. Also, I would like a majority of the characters to be human.

Personality:

Rowan is a gentle creature, as far as satyrs go. His species is known for being trickers and theives, attacking those who travel through their forests and kidnapping young women from villages for their own brutish sport. Of course, in actuality, it's a fairly small part of the population that do these things, but they give the whole species a bad name.

Rowan tries to overlook the labels shoved on him by the humans he works with. He understands that they know no better, and hopes that, once they get to know him, they'll see past the stereotypes. This isn't always the case, however. Despite his immense amount of patience, Rowan isn't too fond of the new royal family. The king in particular. Being forced to live in the barn with the animals was the last straw; the only reason Rowan stays is because A: The guards leave him no other choice, and B: he has nowhere else to go.

Other: Although most satyrs aren't thieves and muggers, the species as a whole aren't overly fond of humans. When Rowan took interest in human culture as a boy, his clan did not approve. He crossed the line when he began working in a human village as a blacksmith. His clan saw this as servitude towards the humans, and deemed him unworthy to live in their midsts. Rowan is no longer welcome in the forest outside the kingdom, and if he enters there, he is treated as a trespasser.

Aside from his blacksmithing, Rowan enjoys gardening as a passtime. When the old gardener was let go, he took over caring for the castle's vegetable, fruit, and flower gardens. He also cares for the horses in the stables, since he lives there now anyway.

He's a vegetarian, able to eat just about any plant, no matter its toughness.

Appearance: Rowan is a full blooded satyr. His human half has olive skin and curly, reddish brown hair. He has a bit more hair than your typical man, his arms sporting shaggy, almost furlike growth near his elbows. His form is muscular, particularly his arms. Working with heavy hammers all day does a body good.
He was cursed with a boyish face, which he hides under a trimmed beard and mustache. His goofy, floppy goat ears don't help. He's rather big, standing at nearly 6'5". The horns on his head curl backwards and are very strong.

His goat half is that of a tahr, with long, brown fur and smaller hooves. He's very nimble on his feet, faster than a human, and able to climb and balance uncannily well. As for clothing, Rowan often goes without. With his bottom half so heavily furred, he doesn't really have anything to hide. If he's attending a more proper occasion, he has a couple tunics to pick from in various colors.

History: Rowan grew up in the forest outside of the city with his clan. When he was a young boy, he grew curious of humans, and ventured close to the town to study them. His clan did not approve of this, but Rowan was never one to obey orders.

When he was a teenager, he finally ventured into the town to meet the people. He found a job with a local blacksmith, and began work as his assistant. When his clan found out, they banished Rowan from living with them. Once he had nowhere else to go, Rowan mostly lived at the shop and improved his skills. He became very good at what he did; good enough to attract the eye of the royal family.

When Rowan was offered a job at the castle, he was very eager to take it. This was a couple years before the take over. These days, he wished he would have turned that offer down.

(I had him take over for the care of the gardens and stables as well, since there was no position for a gardener or stable hand. I figured, since he's not allowed to live in the castle anymore, he may as well take care of the grounds. :3)

(Yeah that's good. It would make sense for the new king to hate inhuman creatures, as he certainly treated everyone else badly, and to treat them as inferior.)
