Delta Velorum Foxes are tall looking foxes that are only located on the remote planet of Delta Velorum.
Standing between 2 - 2 1/2 feet at the should, Delta Velorum Foxes are very tall in appearance compared to Red Foxes on Earth. They tend to be long legged in appearance and are well known for their endurance and agility. Males tend to be more muscular then females while female are more slender and elegant in appearance. A Delta Foxes fur tends to be very soft and short, and come in a wide variety of natural colors. It is not uncommon to see them in roans and dun colors similar to horses and are commonly seen in cat colors and patterns as well (such as calico, tabby, bengal markings ect). However the combination of colors and patterns are limitless, and each Delta Velorum Fox is different from the next. No two are ever the same in looks. Delta Velorum Foxes can come in any eye color and combination - no matter if it's natural or unnatural. A fox with two or more eye colors (known as Heterochromia) is uncommon but not unheard of.
Variety: Relaxed tail, Custom facial markings (x2). Custom mane/bangs/braid, Heterochromia.
Genetics Code:
0 / 0 - 0

So full of hate were our eyes
That none of us could see
Our war would yield countless dead
But never victory
So let us cast arms aside
And like discard our wrath
Thou, in faith, will keep us safe
Whilst we find the path

----------------------------~*~*~*~*~-------------------------------
A vixen who is hard to describe, both in appearance and personality wise. She is ever evolving, and will surprise you almost everyday if you stick around long enough. Cherokee has survived though hard times and know a lot more then she lets on. Take heed and listen when she speaks, you might miss something if you're not careful.
The W a r.
Unlike many, Cherokee was in the war from start to finish. She joined as soon as she was considered a teen, and grew up in it. She became a scout and worked her way up in the ranks (and earned the respect of many), until eventually she became a Scout group leader. She has seen many battles, and was the first in line with a handful. She has lost friends, family, and even a mate in the war. The war is now over, her clan is on the loosing side, and now she is forced to move and leave the only home she has known.
H i s t o r y.
Because of things being so different then they are today, she calls her past her "past life". Back then she had a role in her clan, a family and more. She was happy, and felt that she had a purpose. Now? She feels she is disorientated, and inwardly lonesome. Things now are very, very different then what it was. She was born as a healthy kit with two brothers. She had loving parents who taught her many things on survival and life. They were not shy foxes, you ask any question and they would tell you, no matter how embarrassing it might have been. She loved her family no matter what, and grew up well. By the time she became a teen, things started to change.
Her clan went to war with another neighboring clan. For more land, food, Cherokee never really knew. She was never allowed to go along with the clan when meeting were held and most fellow clan mates refused to tell her any details. To this day even the subject of it brings her utter frustration and quite a bit of anger. Although she was young (and to many, too young) she took part in the war and became one of the Lead Scouts withing the clan. She was fast on her feet and had good eyes and ears for scouting, she was perfect for the job. She wasn't afraid of being the first in line on the battle front and unlike other Scouts she saw the war and death first hand. She lost the hearing in one ear, gained a large mount of scars from battles, almost starved on several occasions - but somehow this vixen survived those years of hell. During the end of the war she become mates with another Scout, a handsome young todd by the name of Than, who unfortunately later died during a ambush from a enemy group. Most of scouting group died as well, which left her grief for the next year. She was never able to have any kits with her mate and as the war went on her clan became less and less - scattered, confused and broken. She lost her brothers, her parents went completely missing, and most of her friends had died. She never connected well with the rest of the clan (and the long days away from the clan doesn't help that) and felt that she was surrounded by complete strangers, especially the younger newer scouts who seemed oblivious of what happened.
P e r s o n a l i t y.
Cherokee is a extremely intelligent individual who can be stubborn, independent, and loyal to the end. She will take her duties within the clan first over the needs of herself and is known to be gone for days on end before returning with her job of Lead Scout. She has memorized dozens of tracks, sounds and smells with her job. She is a observant vixen who doesn't do well with strangers. Meeting and welcoming someone new is not her strong point - she might give them a smell to memorize their smell, ask a few questions, and determine if they are to be friend or foe. She has been nicknamed the "Ice Queen" for her attitude towards newcomers for the first month, but although she maybe cold at first she will always remain a professional tone towards strangers and clan members - no matter what age or rank they maybe.
Cherokee can also be easily annoyed at time so watch your tone with her. She has very little time to herself with her job, and frustration comes easily when someone interrupts or removed that said time away from her. She is constantly overworked, overstressed, and with very little sleep; this can leave her in a very snappy mood. She can be downright aggressive if told to go scouting with a partner! The few things she despises is being belittled, mocked, or underestimated. If given a few days of rest she can and will ease up with her harshness (vacations are something she isn't allowed, but very needed) - showing a more soft, motherly side of her that can be very friendly and warm so long as you treat her well. She can be a very good babysitter for other vixens, allowing kits to jump on her/play fight with her while she keeps watch over them.

T r i a l . T w o. .Moving Day.
For a day that troubled so many, it's weather was quite lovely. A soft, cool breeze blew in from the south as flower peddles fell from the forest canopy, along with the distant songs of a variety of birds. The smell of rain was in the air but there wasn't a cloud to be seen. To would be considered a wonderful day, if you weren't Cherokee.
A vixen laid below a tree along, under what looked like a carpet of purple peddles. A few inches from her head was a moss covered stone with runes etches into it, and a necklace draped over it. She laid there silent, not uttering a peep. She looked both lonesome and tired, those who were nearby left her be and went to do their own thing. She was thankful that most in her clan are respectful to her. Her name was Cherokee, the last of the few remaining scouts in the little Delta Velorum Fox Clan. She and her clan were preparing for a long journey that day, everyone was getting last minutes tasks finished and making sure everyone was ready to go. She knew the journey was going to be long and hard, and was torn between wanting a fresh start and not wanting to leave the only home shes ever had.
"I miss you everyday Than, I wish I didn't have to go..." Cherokee said softly to the store, tears brimming in her eyes. This was her final chance of saying goodbye, and she knew she would never be able to come back here again. The stone was the grave marker for her late husband, who had died almost several months past during the war. She had lost him, a good many friends, and her hearing in one ear that day. She hadn't been mates with him for long, only a few month before he passed away. But she still missed him, sometimes waking up in the middle of the night still thinking he was beside her. Before she could say anymore goodbyes, her ears jerked back with the sound of footsteps behind her. She quickly wiped away any stray tears and began to let out a low, grow at whoever it was. She was very willing to lash out any frustrations of hers on the fox who interrupted her. "The Alpha said I could have ten minutes! now if you-" She growling, but stopped when she saw the cowering figure behind her. It was one of the younger members, who looked utterly terrified of her.
"S-sorry Cherok-kee, but Alpha said we gotta go now o-or your butt gets left behind." He said while visibly shading and took a few steps back when he heard her growl louder. "Please don't k-kill the messenger" he whimpered, before turning around and leaving Cherokee alone. When he was out of sight she let out a frustrated sigh. The only Alpha had died in battle during the war, and his replacement was far from being considered as good as he was. This new alpha was known for taking back promises and changing orders without warning, which annoyed Cherokee greatly. But she was still the Head Scout within the clan, she had duties to preform and had to follow orders, no matter how annoying they may be. She looks at the grave for one last time, and turned around towards the rest of the group.
Cherokee kept her pace at a brisk trot, trying to ignore the eyes that watched her. Some she gave a curt nod to as she passed, a few other Delta Velorum Foxes she ignored as they stared coldly at her. Some might not have liked her attitude, and many weren't used to the scars on her face. She went past her friend, Tobi, but didn't say anything to him. She didn't feel like talking at the moment as her thoughts raced with worry about the move. Her mind quickly snapped back into the present as she neared the Alpha. She lowered her head in respect and greeted him. The new Alpha and Cherokee were not close, nor on the best of terms with each other.
"Cherokee." The Alpha said in a cold, yet smooth sounding tone of voice. Cherokee gave him a curt nod in response. "I want you to scout ahead, we will be moving immediately. And don't be such a fool with your time, I want you to check back with the groups a least a couple time a day. No running off for days on end, unless you enjoy being left behind." Cherokee was about to say 'Yes sir.' but was dismissed before she could complete her sentence. The vixen bowed her head again and turned away to start scouting. She could hear several loud barks telling the clan to start moving out. She quickened her pace and leaped over some bushes, and ran past countless trees. She mentally noted landmarks and the sent of the land, but tried to get as much distance away from the clan as possible.
Soon she broke from the tree line and entered into a clearing. She could still hear the clan but knew they were a good deal away from her. She slowed down to a slow walk to allow herself some air. Cherokee sometimes felt that the clan was going to smother her, and the Alphas stinging words didn't help a bit. She looked ahead and refused to look back, wondering what the future held for her and the clan. The move had started, and she prayed things would get better.

-Days and weeks past by, but the clan moved on.
Cherokee was seen little with the move, only stopping by in the clan two or three times a day, exhausted but still giving the report of what was ahead. When seen at night she would almost collapse asleep, unless the Alpha was in a mood and made her take first patrol and watch. She tried to talk to it to her friend Tobi, but fell asleep halfway through her sentence. Blisters, sprains, and minor injuries were a common thing among the small clan, but they kept moving. They rarely stopped for a break during the day, and it was starting to take it's toll. Over time, and with each new day, foxes started to disappeared. At first it wasn't that many, only one at a time. Search parties were sent out and either came back empty handed or not come back at all.
Paranoia spread like wildfire among the clan. The Alpha told everyone to no longer send out search parties - if you were missing for a period of time you were assumed dead and was left behind.
