He pounced on the moss ball and tore it to shreds. "I WIN!" He yowled triumphantly.

Frostkit reached her brother just as he finished shredding the ball.

Specklefrost approached Featherstar. "I'm worried about Amberkit." She confessed. "She won't play with the other kits, and she doesn't do anything except sit in the elders den and cry about her dead mother."

Amber kit sat watching the other kits tail curled around her legs. She already only had three legs, and she would never be a warrior. She missed her mom so much.

She looked over at Amberkit. "She may never be a great warrior, but we should at least teach her how to hunt or fight, in case anything should happen." She murmured. "My kits will be apprenticed soon, and when Amberkit's old enough, I'd like permission to mentor her. She can't just sit with a kit name forever!"

"So, Shadowpelt, how are you doing as a deputy? I mean, like, how hard is it?" Cheetahheart asks as she makes a scent mark afterwards.

"Well," he said. "Featherstar tried to let me help out when she was Deputy, so when I got the post, it wasn't all new to me." He paused to sniff a rabbit trail. "It's not particularly hard, although I do sometimes make mistakes, like sending an apprentice or a mentor on dawn patrol if they're having a training session early in the morning." He shifted his paws.

She nodded sympathetically. "When she's old enough, you may be her mentor, but we must be careful. She hasn't fully recovered yet from the badger attack." Featherstar said.

Amber kit sighed her wound where her missing leg was stung. She sighed she didn't even know how to walk, she wanted to be a warrior desperately though. She wished for her mothers condert and warmth. She began to sobnext to Nutkit and Frostkit

Frostkit took no notice of Nutkit and walked over to Amberkit. "Hi Amberkit." She mewed cheerfully. "Want to play with us?"
