if you are starting I suggest that you don't do anything crazy for the first two or three posts, like you probably shouldn't have a monster attack happen in the first post (but that would be cool o3o)

Well, a crossover is in order!
Hunger Games, Divergent, or your favorite TV show is good!

I started doing a Shadowhunter Chronicles cross-over, though you already know that, Panther. But a cross-over is really fun! Or you could even create a totally new thing, like a new powers thing, or a new secret organization or something. I dunno, just be creative!

Normally you introduce, but you can do something like
This is my CIA handbook, and I am writing in between the briefing and gun loading. So, this'll be short.

Yeah, usually your first post is a basic introduction of you and possibly your family, friend/s and pet/s (If you have any). Some people add in their character's first day of school if their pet is still in school, and sometimes it's simply a really quick "Hey this is me, this is my family, this is my friend, this is my pet. Oh, and this is what you're called because diaries are stupid." and bam, it's over. Some people go back and edit their first post to add things, such as banners, a table on contents, links, and whatnot.

WAIT diary is too girly/mainstream/etc. I'm calling this a *item/food/animal*
Gotta go it's time for dinner

And then they're left to rot

I think this can be considered out of hand when all of the things on the first page in "Discuss & Share your writing" are diaries
Maybe I'm just a hipster, anyone else feel this way?

In my opinion, I think there should be a separate spot for the diaries, for the very reason of there being so many.

Yeah, I've seen some where the writer doesn't really have a plot in them, and others with great potential but no effort. I don't mind if people have different dairies, since writing for a certain plot can get boring and then writers block and eisvnsg D:
I just wished people planned out their dairies before starting them and put effort into their post |D

Also, I don't post here a lot since I haven't caught up on most of the other dairies yet [Strange Diary, Potato, Piefan's ones] But do people prefer reading 1st person point of view dairies over a mix of 1st and 3rd? ovo

Like, I can't remember any conversation I've had in like the past day, but these guys remember actions too ouo
I'm just curious, since I think the mix brings more character views and makes longer entries, but they take a long time to write as well |D
