So, when I attempt an Oekaki, it opens fine. I can draw on it, but it won't let me save!

It gives me this error message:
"Error: access denied ("java.net.SocketPermission""www.chickensmoothie.com" "resolve")

Your drawing has not been saved.

The router to the internet has been unplugged+plugged in at least once during the weird blockage, and I've had CS whitelisted for a long time. It keeps saying that Java won't let it run, and I'm getting worried.

Thanks!

(Also to absolutely, positively, anyone else getting an error that says socketpermission, or get this kind of access denied error:)
Switch to v2 here: http://www.chickensmoothie.com/oekaki/settings.php
This error is caused by an unsigned certificate; V1 is unsigned, V2 is signed. ^^;

I do know Chrome Dropped Java Support or something like that, Firefox or another browser supporting Java will need to be used for anything that uses Java.

There is a temporary fix for this listed on the front page:
DoctorDraca wrote:“I have installed Java but it keeps telling me I don't have Java installed?”
    For Chrome (since April 2015):
Since April 2015 Google Chrome will be dropping support towards Java and other applications. This will cause you to see the 'install Java' screen even if you already have it installed. There is a temporary fix until the support is lost entirely. Just follow these instructions and you're good to go. Be warned, this takes away your pen pressure so you'll need to install JTablet again after this and relaunch your browser.

I highly suggest to switch over to another browser like FireFox in the end, since this work-around is only temporary.

but at some point or another Chrome is going to drop support for Java entirely (seems like a very stupid decision for them to make to me, but there's not much we can do about it) so ultimately Firefox is going to be the way to go unfortunately.

(Do try and check the front page before posting your issue by the way, the mods don't have a heap of time to have to go through and answer everyone individually and quite often your problem will already be solved on the front page! easy C;)

Thank you so much, I did look but I must have looked over it. I'll be sure to double check next time. :)

I have downloaded JTablet twice already, doesn't work, I've restarted my computer loads of times, cleared my catche, nothing. I'm using Chrome, windows 7. On top of all, I don't even care about the pen pressure, but what really pisses me off is every single time I draw a line, it freezes for a few seconds, before actually doing anything. It worked fine the first time I used it, with pen pressure even! But after that, things just went down.

Quick question for anyone who uses JoinMe as well, is there a reason why every time Im interact with the joinme screen (like the chat box or anything like that) it turns off my pen pressure in oekaki? I always end up having to reload the page to get my pen pressure back and its kind of annoying.

I've been trying to read through this thread to see if this have been answered, so if I missed it please direct me!

For months I've been using another computer when I draw on oekaki, but that computer is really frustrating to do anything other than game with. So I thought I'd give another go at getting oekaki to work on any of the browsers.

Safari:
Java isn't loading at all. I'm just getting the text "Drawing on the Oekaki requires the Java plug-in to be installed in your web browser. Click here to install Java!" despite the fact that I just downloaded the latest version.

Firefox:
Java loads properly and work, until I get the pop-up that jTablet is experimental and may crash. Once I get that message I can't click on anything in the oekaki window, and the top menu on oekaki only show empty white boxes when I hoover with the mouse pointer over it.

I got cs whitelisted and use V.2 of oekaki.

EDIT: Got oekaki to work by removing jTablet completely. It was installed both in the ~/Library/Java/Extensions and /Library/Java/Extensions which is why the problem remained the first time I tried to remove jTablet.

i've updated java, switched browsers and re-downloaded jtablet, but i still have the same problem.

whenever i draw with my tablet on oekaki, it works fine until i draw several sharp edges. it kinda follows my pen, even if it isn't on my tablet and keeps making a little trail until i tap my tablet.

    i currently use google chrome.

I know this probably has an easy solution, but my little issue here is with editing.

So, on the editable forms, it lets me change opacity, delete layers, and everything else; but when I actually go to draw in, it won't let me. It just doesn't do anything. I know I'm using the brush, but it just won't do anything. Nothing at all. It drags it across and everything remains unchanged. Just for reference if it's needed: I use Oekaki on FireFox, because Chrome- which I usually use- is just a pain in the neck for it.

Is there anything that I might be doing wrong? Am I just being stupid with it in some way?
Anyone know what to do here? Thanks for any efforts made.

More of a question than a problem.

So I drew my picture longways, and now realize I need everything shortways. I thought the layers might correct themselves when rotated with the canvas but uhm nah. Is there anyway to fix this? Or did I shoot myself in the foot? : P

No big deal if I've messed up. Just curious.
