I don't just like wolves, they are my fav but I don't think it should be allowed to hunt them or any other animal in fact, I mean right so what would you do if your entire family was shot dead for fun?

^^this is just my personal opinion and what I think c: so please do not take offence for it

Sure, there are other options. Options such as placing wolves under significant levels of stress that will most likely kill them anyway in order to relocate them. Or simply allowing them to kill herds of cattle that they don't eat and making it to where farmers simply shoot anything that looks like a wolf rather than waiting for hunting season.

The collar to protect livestock throats would not work because the wolves can still bite other parts of the animal. And it doesn't provide any resolution for the animals already taken by wolves and coyotes. As for hunters such as myself, we don't murder anyone. Terms like murder and innocent are words that are meant to be used towards other humans, not wild animals that have no concept of them.

Subspecies of wolves who need protection are already protected. Grey wolves are not, and should not be, protected simply because they don't need the protection in some places anymore.

I've hunted a wolf. I've eaten wolf meat, and worn the fur of a wolf to keep myself warm when it gets cold. I have no problems with ethical hunting, no matter what animal is being hunted.

What if it was your family hungry? That wolf I killed fed my family for over a year.

hungry? I am not a vegetarian but I would much rather prefer if we could all just eat plants and things vegetarians eat, if I was starving I would find plant mater that you could eat I wouldn't 'murder.' A 'innocent' wolf because I was hungry, I'm not being offensive and this is my opinion but to me that's just wrong, I respect what you do and everything but it would never work for me.

And was that wolf a giant one? I'm pretty sure a single wolf wouldn't feed you for a year, let alone a family for a year, I just don't see how.

We didn't eat just the wolf. He was spread out over the year with the buck I took, and between the two of them I think we were set for a year and a couple months. I should have mentioned that. Having the same thing every night would get boring quickly, no? We ate pretty much every part of him though. I don't remember exactly how much he weighed, but I do remember that the best way to prepare the meat was in a stew haha

Relocating animals always runs a high risk of mortality because of the stress it puts on their systems. Sometimes it is successful, such as Yellowstone, but sometimes it is not. I just wanted to point that out in my post. I apologize for how confrontational it sounded, I was a little miffed from reading the posts from people who "hate hunters".

I'd really appreciate it if you would stop throwing around the word murder. I really don't care if you think wolves are 'innocent', but I am not a murderer and I will not tolerate being called one.

Edit: Yes, I have the money to have power and internet at my home. I said my family was hungry. I didn't say we needed the meat to survive, and where I live now wolves aren't legal to hunt anyway. However, I am fine with hunting even if you're not dying, so that is a moot point. My asking what if your family was hungry was in response to the asinine question of "what if your entire family got shot." It was a ridiculous question in response to a ridiculous question.

Im sorry for my use of the word 'murder' but I feel strongly for wolves and I agree with Shebawolf, if you have internet you surely must not have the need to hunt wolves?
