People just see the word Satan and immediately think of crazy cults or something. It's understandable, but they refuse to think otherwise.

My cousin is a Nihilist, if I recall correctly.

But you ARE goin' to sacrifice my non-existent baby Q_Q

I still want to speak about satanism in our religion class, but I fear our teacher doesn't share our interest in it ._.

Doesn't share your interest or doesn't wish to hear it because it's a different religion?
I say go for it either way. Tell people about it, let them know it's not some terrible, evil religion that people should be judged for following.

I'm sick of people thinking Atheism is wrong. Like when they ask why I choose to be an atheist. And some people think we don't have morals and stuff like that. Then I have to go and explain myself to them, which I shouldn't even have to do.

As for Satanism. I find it a bit interesting as well. I don't know much about it, but I'd like to learn more about it. I like to research every religion, just to get a better understanding of each one.

As for the Christian Satan, of course sense I'm an atheist, and not a Christian, I don't believe in him either, or Hell. But if there was a "Satan", I'm sure he wouldn't be some red devil that burned everyone either. My opinion is that he was created that way in the bible to scare people into believing in God and worshipping him. I know a few people who believe in God and worship him because they are afraid to go to Hell.

I agree with the whole of this post, I must say.
If I did believe in the Christian religion, from what I've heard from the bible, Satan is something God made up to scare little kids at night.

I know quite a few satanists. And to be honest, these people are some of the
nicest people I've ever met :3 One of them runs a pet store and breeds dogs.

People need to start seeing the differences between satanists and the damn kiddy cults
that worship satan and maul innocent little animals.

Aaskhaklf THIS. People, we are all born atheist. It is our upbringing that teaches us about
religions.
Being atheist is completely natural, and I assure you there is nothing wrong with us.
We simply do not belive in the 'supernatural'. And by this I mean gods, ghosts, miracles, healing , magic etc.
I could not even consider the existance of anything like that. I don't 'deny' it, I simply... well,
it makes no sense to me and never will.

It isn't a 'choice' I make. It is natural for me :3

@splenda: I guess she doesn't want to talk about it in our lessons.I mean, I'm in the catholic class and we only have two teachers on our school who are teaching that subject. And we got the one who is a bit...well...difficult.It least I don't get a worse mark for not believing in God.I thought that a long time since it took me three years to finally get a B.

I think the Christian Satan is more like an-'ah well...we need an explanation for all the bad things happening'-thing, since of course all those accidents and disasters can't be God's fault.
It's more like a metaphor for the bad things, telling the people what you should not do.Be like the Christian Satan - go to hell.Be how God wants you to be- go to heaven.

I don't know... three years for a B?
Sounds kind of biased to me, but I'm also a little bit paranoid.

Yup. >o< People say they were born Christian, or born Islamic, or born Jewish but you can't really decide for yourself until you're atleast eight or nine, I'd say.

This forever.
I seriously don't understand what your beliefs have to do with what kind of person you are.
I actually don't know most of my friends' religions because it doesn't matter to me.

Oh, I like asking for pure curiosity's sake. ^3^ It's a good conversation starter, and I quite like hearing about other people's beliefs, even if they are beyond ridiculous.
I find Hinduism extremely interesting.

Oh, I'm not against asking.
I'm just saying I don't ask because it doesn't matter either way; I value you as a person, not for your religion.
