Smokekit yawned and opened his bright amber eyes. He glanced up at his mom as she entered. "What happened mama?" He meowed.

Melodystar smiled down at her kit. "Nothing to worry about sweetheart." She purred.

Heatherkit blinked open her eyes, peering out at her mother and the world. She let out a little squeak.

Northernfall let out a purr or happiness, curling up around his family.

Acorn kit meowed angrily as his eyes adjusted to the light."Mama?"he asked blinking up at her once his vision cleared up.

"Mama!" Heatherkit yipped, crawling towards Melodystar.

Melodystar purred, grooming her kits happily. She was grateful her life had turned out this way. "Yes dears?" She purred, laying down next to her mate.

Smokekit squealed. "Everything is so... big!"

Heatherkit ducked away from her mother's tongue and scrunched up her face. She began to paw at Smokekit.

He smiled slightly," I never grew up with my family. If I had I probably wouldn't be here right now. I only had a relationship with my oldest sister, Star and my oldest brother Silver. We split up because..." He trailed off for a second before regaining his train of thought," We split up because my parents died of greencough when we were young. I've lived alone ever since."
