wolves - your opinon?

i LOVE wolves. i don't mind hunters in general, the ones i DO mind i the 'Trophy' Hunters, the ones looking to tack a skin on their wall. i don't mind those that hunt to eat, and ONLY to eat. Wolves are amazing animals. yes, they may hunt cattle and whatnot, but that's ONLY if they can't find any other food. a wolf hunts to eat, and ONLY to eat. compare that to humans, who hunt for SPORT. disgusting. and people wonder why so many animals are on the Endangered Species List. why, just this year hunters tried to get wolf-hunting legal again. Thank goodness it didn't pass. i voted 'no' to both options (both wanted wolf-hunting legal). what's worse, Hunters who hunt for sport take the ones that WOLVES need. So wolves go hungry.

Most trophy hunters take the meat as well. Also the reason animals are endangered are because of poachers, not hunters. Hunters can only kill a certain amount of the species and it is heavily regulated. Poachers are illegal.

So hunters do have some effect on wildlife vanishing. Also, 'cause of UNREGULATED hunting, the bison nearly vanished. Still hasn't fully recovered from the millions there once were. And what of fur trappers? Do you know they skin the animal ALIVE, then let it die slowly? Its true. Don't get me started on Animal Rights. You won't win. Wolves and other animals shouldn't be hunted UNLESS the majority of the animal is gonna be eaten. Scratch that, WOLVES shouldn't be hunted at all, no matter WHAT they do.

Thats POACHING not hunting.
Poaching the illegal act of taking animal with out a licence or regulations.
Hunting is the act of taking an animal with permission of the land owner or with a licence which states how many animals can be taken.

Fur is damaged if an animal is skinned alive leaving I worthless as blood and what not staines the pelt which can not be washed so why would someone who uses furs as an income want it damaged by skinning alive. Peta propaganda got to love it.

poaching= unregulated hunting= illegal hunting

hunting= regulated lisenced hunting= legal hunting

how long ago did certain animals go extinct because of sport hunting, you'll notice it was a LONG time back when hunting wasn't regulated now we have better awareness about these things and have rules and seasons in place. Anyone breaking those rules is a poacher.

Also i don't understand why people say hunters etc skin animals alive, i'd imagine it to be to much of a struggle for the hunter and especially to get a nice pelt to use. Why not wait until the tissue is dead, Oh wait a huge amount of people DO.

Someone who cares NOTHING for the suffering of animals. I would DIE to protect an abused or neglected animal. Would YOU do the same? Or would you just stand by and watch, making you just as guilty? Unless you can TRUTHFULLY say you would do the right thing and STOP the abuse, you are JUST AS GUILTY.

..Poachers are hunting to sell. If an elephant's ivory wasn't considered valuable, they probably wouldn't be out there.
Also, passenger pigeons went extinct about a hundred years ago, when hunting wasn't regulated(the same goes for bison). Currently, in the US, you can't just go out and kill something whenever you want. There are hunting seasons and you are limited to how many animals you can kill.
Also, the "skinning animals alive" bit was something staged and spread by PETA, I believe? If you skinned an animal alive, you'd have to deal w/ the animal struggling, and blood potentially ruining the pelt. It's not practical.
I understand you have very strong views on the subject but it's always good to be open to other people's views and information so you can develop a more well-rounded opinion.

Anyways -- I don't have much of an opinion on wolves as I do on other animals, but I don't think NA species like grey wolves really need the attention they get. After all, there's dozens of other animals going extinct around the world - not all due to poaching, but also environmental change and increasing levels of pollution. (edit: also habitat loss and a dozen other things )
Wolves do have a niche to fill in their ecosystem but as long as their population numbers are stable, there's not really any issue in regulated hunting of them.
