Palkir's are a mix between a Griffin and a Kirin. Both species bred when their populations became overlapped due to shortage of land and resources, and at that time both species were going extinct. The mix created some crosses,the Palkir, that was viable and able to breed with others of its mix. Thus creating Palkir's.

Like the Griffin's, they are a proud and am impulsive species. They are quick to anger, and quick to act upon it. Though, if befriended, they'll protect you with their life. With their Kirin bloodlines, they are protective and just. They will defend the innocent, and punish the bad. In all, it is in your favor to be on their good side.

Palkir's have a unique characteristic that they've developed on their own. On the top of their skull is a large gem
set in place. The gem can be anything - ruby, sapphire, opal, etc. We believe this is due to having Kirin
bloodlines, since the Kirin's were depicted in being bejeweled. The jewels themselves serve no physical
purpose, though the Palkir's take great pride in having them, and will associate status with the rarity
and color of their gems.

When Paklir's mate with different gems, the offspring will have their mothers gem, or in rare cases the
gems will be combined either creating a conglomerate or an entirely new gem.
