Apparently snk was just supposed to be one season since the author was just going to kill all the characters off, but then it became popular and he had a fandom to please. My guess is that he has writer's block or something. Smart of you to buy the manga, aha.

Apparently the part one of the movie is coming out this year in August (I think; I can't quite remember). However, im not trusting them with release dates anymore.

i only skimmed through the article so forgive me if i missed something important but i think it's kind of silly to say anime is going to die off just because one person thinks so. yes it's inevitable that the anime industry is going to fail at some point but going as far as saying it's definitely going to fall in 5-20 years is incredibly bogus i'm sorry
of course, things that go up always come down which is really cheesy to say but even if it does happen i doubt anime is going to disappear entirely

He's just butthurt that people don't care about his new Evangelion crap like they did in the 90s

Plus he's personal close friends with Miyazaki. I'm sure hes making some point that there will never be anime of quality again now that his bff is retired

He needs to pull his head out of his rear. Anime is changing. People care about different things than they did 20 years ago when his series was relevant. That doesn't mean it's dying or going downhill. I'm sure in 5 years another trend will surface and he'll look like a fool for saying those things so publicly. It frustrates me that so many people are taking his word as gospel when he hasn't made anything of real note since like 1996

As a side note I started watching Death Parade and OMG i love it so far!

I love madoka magica.
for me, it's one of those series i just can't stop loving.
admittedly, it was the first anime i watched and completed i didn't finish vampire knight bc they didn't air them all on tv at the time. but it's how i discovered pmmm. yeah they had pmmm on abc3 once. abc3 is aimed at kids. though it was aired later in the day,, im sure many children watched it lol
i read complaints about it too lol but im so glad they aired it
i've watched it many many times and oh god i just crumble into a pile of feels when I listen to any of the ost

i found SAO really boring with bland characters tbh, i couldn't get far in the anime at all. i'm not sure how it's so popular now but oh well;;;

I watched all of SAO and some of the Gun Gale Online arc, but honestly I dislike it. The animation and idea is all cool, I love video game anime so much, but honestly SOA is just badly done in my opinion. They skip around a lot, and either go too fast or too slow with pacing. I also don't feel like any of the characters feel realistic or fleshed out enough. Watching it through once is fun, but after that it just seems like there are a bunch of small issues(and some large) that lead up to it being mediocre in my opinion.

for any of y'all who don't know me already (i was p inactive on the old thread), sup

but ye i pretty much agree w/ u on sword art online

i thought the first season of sao was pretty good, but only bc it had quick pacing so u didn't really have time to analyze the characters and plot and notice their flaws
once alfheim online started, it really really went downhill from there . . .
i HATE HATE HATE how every female character gets a crush on kirito. it is kinda demeaning bc literally every. single. damn. girl. is swooning over him, wthhhhh
they kinda tried to fix it in the second half of the second season w/ the whole asuna character arc, which i appreciated, but by then i was already sick and tired of watching the anime and just wanted to finish it.
and UGH THE FANSERVICE
(also all of the villains are kind of . . . predators /i'm not really gonna elaborate on this/ but it makes me reALLY uncomfortable and i wish they didn't always have to include that)

so basically, i'd just recommend watching the first part of the first season and stopping there bc the rest is very subpar imo
