Vapor collected the papers and started to organize them. He started to create a small system on the floor; there was a stack for battle plans there and a stack for maps and bases here. Quiet things soothed Vapor but he could never really be that quiet himself. Silence was calming to him and scared him because silence gave people space. Space to hide, space to run away, space far from him.

"Carter, tone down the violence, will you? You're older than me you're supposed to be a good role model," Sadie said as Carter walked into the room. "Plus there's a new person here, you'll scare her off."

Carter grinned. "I'm rolemodeling being a strong, independent woman, it's a good skill," she told Sadie in a matter-of-fact voice. "And she's gonna have to get comfortable with me."

"Threatening to beat up everyone who annoys you is not the same thing as being an independent woman," Sadie said in a sing-song voice before moving to make sure she was out of Carter's reach. It wouldn't be the first time Carter had smacked her.

Aaron laughed. "Okay, woah," he said, hoping to keep the bruises to a minimum. "Addie, this is Carter- she needs her beauty sleep, but she could totally kick your rear. Carter, Addie. The new girl who soul probably appreciate you not kicking her rear. Or mine, for that matter." He smiled, then nudged Carter in the ribs. "Strong, independent woman? Hmmm... does that sound like our Carter?"

Vapor rolled his eyes at the current conversation. It was nice to hear them have a playful argument of sorts. It was always nice for Vapor to see happiness in dark times, it was like a small sliver of hope.

Sadie shot Carter a grin, "Strong? Carter's not strong. She's just over dramatic." Before she was even finished Sadie was moving to increase the distance between herself and Carter. While she might have ignored Sadie's last comment, there was no way Carter would let this one go.

Aaron smiled at her and led her back to the blue house. "Come on. And... just don't be scared, okay? I won't let any of them hurt you, promise." Without waiting for a response he flung open the door. "Hey guys?" he called, wondering if they had already split up, like they were planning. He turned to Addie and smiled. "Let's hope they didn't leave without me again."

Addie ~ Tagged Aaron
Addie's whole face was red. "They-They let without you? That's terrible!" She whisperd. Without even thinking she leaned over and hugged Aaron. "Sorry," she mumbled. "Just being little ole' me," she smiled at Aaron. She couldn't believe that this boy wouldn't let her get hurt. She held both her hands togther in a cute, innocent way.

Vapor carefully stacked the stacks of paper he had organized and put them back in the file. He rubbed his eyes and let out a heavy breath. "I'm going to go outside for some fresh air. I'll be back later." He announced and proceeded to leave. The house felt constricting to him, grasping at him tighter and tighter.

Carter scowled and smacked Sadie's arm and slapped Aaron across the face. "Don't test me," she said, standing on her tiptoes to seem taller, but it didn't add much height.
