The Heavens were not in Allya's favour. Were she a meeker individual, she would've let out a small whine due to her restrictions. Alyce, at least, gave her comfort as her words met Allya's pointed ears. She could rest-assured that were she in danger, the elf would be staying very close to her indeed - either that or in some tree. The thought of nearing Fabian didn't fancy her at all. The sod was more likely to sacrifice her to whatever beast than to actually accept her aid.

A low hiss escaped Allya's lips as a buzzing assaulted her senses. What was that? The shrill noise rattled in her head, bouncing on the walls of her skull like a panicked jackrabbit. Features curled with distaste, she shrunk backwards, eyes squeezed shut in pain. To her relief, the feeling lessened to a dull hum. Observing the others, she noted that it wasn't just her either. They too had experienced the piercing sound, the infernal buzzing like a million wasps upon her mind. It left her feeling uneasy, even more so than before, and incredibly tense. The huge stallion that had accompanied them snorted in distress; not a promising sign. Even less so when the air suddenly filled with an agonised screech. The noise was painful, if less so than the buzzing, and incredibly loud. Her teeth ground together with irritation. This was not going to go well. Allya had ventured many lands and very few withheld the call of a creature so frightening.

The elf moved with Alyce, like a shadow only one far more panicked and, essentially, helpless. She was certainly glad for the reassurance of the rest of the group - warriors and rogues alike rearing to fight whatever Hellish beast stood in their way - but was anxious without a weapon. The being that seemingly materialised from nowhere made her heart skip a beat, only to thunder faster like the hooves of mighty horses. She froze in her tracks. The look on her face must have been pitiful - green eyes wide with dawning horror, mouth slightly agape. Allya had seen bears. This wasn't...couldn't be...She shook her head, snapping out of her stupor. It was terrible. Matted, bloody fur hung from its lumbering body, patches of raw scabs covered its hide and those eyes...they blazed with a bloodlust the rogue had never seen in all her travels. It's gaping maw was what scared Allya most. Thick, sharp teeth protruded from its black lips, dripping with sticky saliva. Nevertheless, Alyce's comment wasn't nearly as amusing at it should have been.

Almost like magic, she could feel her consciousness suddenly wavering, the dull humming resounding in the back of her head. Had Alyce not almost leaped out of her own skin, Allya too would have surely fallen victim to the beast's great strength. Instead, her heels dug into the earth and she pushed off, wobbling a little as she landed not far from the other rogue. She watched the other man's struggle with the creature, herself utterly useless to help fend of the bear's attacks. Her stomach lurched as the warrior was effectively decapitated. Her pale skin lost its colour, the blood rushing from her cheeks. The familiar feeling of bile rising in her throat was quickly swallowed down. Unlike some around her, never had Allya witnessed such a horrific display of events. It didn't even appear interested in devouring him, only in the chaos. She felt overly nauseated.

Her attention was drawn away from the gory death as her hands were suddenly free. Upon instinct, she caught the bow and the quiver, quickly notching an arrow. It felt good under her fingertips, a sense of strength washing over her body like a cool wave. With a nod of acknowledgement, she kept her sharp eyes trained upon the beast. If it meant they would live, Allya would do anything the party asked.

She had been ready to let an arrow fly directly into one of the creature's sickening orbs when the loud nicker of the stallion disrupted her focus. In a matter of seconds, the blighted beast was upon the horse, tearing through its skin like a knife through butter. The poor animal shrieked in pain. Once again, Allya felt overwhelmingly sick, pitying the agonised mount before her.

As its screams died down to faint, scared nickers, the elf noted their lack of time. It would not be long before the bear grew tired of its current plaything and its attention would direct to them. Allya did not fancy that possibility. Her eyes scanned their surroundings, attempting to find the perfect vantage point - ah! A tall tree, not too far away, stood strong by the scene. It was impossible to climb for any novice, but Allya was no novice. Perhaps she could distract the great beast, get it to chase her as she darted up the branches. Were it to attempt to follow, it would surely reveal its soft, weak underbelly, ready to be pierced by the strong blade of the party. Taking a few, readying steps back, she prepared herself for what was to follow.

Alyce  obias  aux
Human  Spy

With:  the  Party

Alyce skirted around, despite her instincts screaming at her to stay close to the group. She'd be more useful here, but a hell of a lot less safe. Her palm sweated around her dirk, making it slide a little. She sucked in a breath, trying to calm her erratic heartbeat. She could deal with a lot of things. Theft, blackmail, assassination, these were all things she'd been taught how to do. She absolutely drew the line at demon bears, or whatever this thing was. She was careful to not attract the thing's attention, though it still seemed fixated on the corpse of the knight.

She watched with disbelief as Fabian let go of the horse. She had no love for the beasts, but even so, she had no wish to watch the mount be killed in such a monstrous manner. Blood spattered onto her boots (her new boots!) as she turned sharply to alter her course. Its screaming rang in her ears long after the horse had died. The butchering of the animal provided enough of a distraction to allow her to reach the back of the bear. She'd wait for an opportunity here to strike.

The beast raised its blood-soaked head as an arrow lodged itself in its shoulder. It swung its head over to Tauriel, who was standing near the edge of the trail, desperately trying to load another arrow before the thing reached her. She never stood a change. The thing covered the distance between them in a heartbeat, and swatted the slim elf aside as if she was nothing more than a leaf. There was a thud and a scream cut short, and then nothing.

The bear was distracted. Alyce took that as her chance. Clasping her dirk, she jumped, landing now quite squarely on the thing's back. The blade sank into the thing's back, but not very far. Skin like stone, it had. The beast reared, letting out an ear-splitting roar, and swung out wildly. Its howls only increased in urgency as it failed to reach her, as did Alyce's as the movements became more and more frantic, her tight grip not quite being enough to make her start slipping. The bear gave another screech, and then threw itself against a tree trunk, crushing Alyce between a bear and a hard place, as it was. The rogue gave a grunt, hearing something crack, but at least the beast's underbelly had been exposed for someone to get a hit in.

Allya observed the beast with ongoing trepidation, her muscles coiled beneath her filthy skin in case she had to run for it. As an arrow whizzed past her and into the beast, she worried for a moment that she had released her own. Had she let it go unwittingly? Perhaps she shouldn't have felt relief when she found it wasn't her, but she couldn't help it. When the lumbering beast made for the other archer instead of herself, she was morbidly glad. The sharp arrows only served as a nuisance to the creature, it's great, big head snarling and spitting at the long-haired elf. Quickly abandoning its previous meal, it shot for the woman and essentially destroyed her. Before she could notch another arrow, she was tossed aside like a ragdoll, life leaving her eyes as she met a rock with a sickening crunch. Although a shame, Allya felt no grief for the woman. She did not know her well, despite their shared race.

Before Allya could do anything else, Alyce leaped. The lithe rogue dragged her blade into the beast's tough hide, successfully angering the livid creature. Mouth frothing and eyes wild, it howled and writhed and threw itself against the trunk of a nearby tree. Alyce was caught right smack in the middle. Eyes wide and jaw clenched, Allya observed the unfolding events, a vague sense of concern folding in her gut. She was frozen in shock. A small voice in the back of her head reprimanded her for such behaviour in the battlefield, but she couldn't help it. Such a being...she had never seen anything like it in all of her travels. Inhaling deeply, she drew back her bow and watched the angry beast...waiting...she didn't want to miss for fear of ending up like the other elf. With careful observation, she found the right moment, right angle and let the arrow fly. It whizzed through the air, air whooshing as it went. What seemed like minutes were barely seconds. The pointed end found its mark, burying grotesquely into the beast's right eye. It roared and wailed, outraged by the wound. Fear and adrenaline coursed through Allya's veins like a rushing rapid. Shakily, she notched another arrow, prepared to let it go.

Her heart thudded almost painfully in her chest, pink cheeks pale at the sight of the monster. Still protruding from its eye, the cheap arrow held strong before the creature's lumbering paw came up and slashed it away. Blood oozed from the wound. Allya feared she was going to retch. She prayed Alyce did not intend for her to kill the creature, for that was simply not her way. Carrying a great, heavy sword to pierce the beast's belly was beyond her capabilities. Hopefully Fabian was far more up to the task. If he was, she was ready to cover his back (a little regretfully, might she add).

Fabian had never felt like this before.

He felt sick to his stomach at the sight of a once great horse laying on the forest floor, [removed] black fur darker than ever with the tide of blood. That on its own made him feel atrocious. [removed] In seconds, an arrow had landed in the mass of scar tissue and fur on the beast's back, and then Tauriel was dead. This wasn't even a fight, not any more. The bear could kill them all with one swipe of its paw; they were nothing more than pesky flies around its hide and it was dealing with them as such. This was not a battleground: it was a killing ground.

The epiphany struck the warrior hard, like a particularly hard punch to the gut. We have to end this before we're all too injured to even stand. At this rate, they'd end up dead on the spot or any injuries they acquired would see them die over the course of a few days, covered in dirt and uselessly fighting infection. This stupid quest would end before it even began and everything so far (which, okay, was not that much) would have been for nothing.

Alyce apparently seemed to be having similar thoughts to himself, throwing herself at the demon animal and attempting to cause it injury. Her blade did nothing to the thick skin, sinking in at hardly an amount worth thinking about. Allya proved to be a woman of quick mind and even quicker hands, notching an arrow, taking aim and letting it fly the moment the beast moved from the tree it had attempted to use to kill the rogue clinging to its back. Fabian had cringed at the sight and even more when he was sure he heard something crack in the female's body, even from this distance. Still, Fabian had nothing to lose and everything to gain, and you didn't need to be a genius to see the opening that Allya's arrow in the bear's eye left wide open like a door.

It was foolish, and stupid, and utterly, utterly a death wish, but still the man rushed forwards, booted feet pounding on the floor. He ducked under the flailing forepaws with claws that looked to be half the length of his sword, and was soon in front of the towering beast, directly faced with the soft belly. He managed to get one large cut in, [removed]. It didn't do much, only break the skin [removed]. If the beast had blood in there, of course. Fabian hardly saw any of it, for a massive paw came out of nowhere, hitting him on the side of the head and sending him flying. The man landed awkwardly, maybe on a small, protruding rock, and something snapped in his shoulder. Not quite unconscious but very near, Fabian could feel the blood on his face, and he could hardly see anything through it. What he could see was blurred and unfocused. All he could do was lay there, prone and feeling like death warmed up, and hope that someone would take his place and slay the animal. His sword had flown from his grip and was nearer the animal than he was: someone had to pick it up and make this end.

Alyce  obias  aux
Human  Spy

With:  the  Party

The world swirled around her. Colours blurred together, the edges of the trees melting into green swirls that twisted around her. Every bit of her body was simultaneously screaming in pain and completely numb. Nothing felt quite real. She tried to move, but she couldn't tell if it was her fingers that had twitched, or everything but her fingers. How the hell had this happened again? What had she done to deserve this? She opened her mouth to let out a groan, and was surprised at how loud and animalistic the sound was. It took her a couple of moments to register that she hadn't roared, and that she was in fact, still in imminent danger.

With the kind of willpower one developed only from dragging oneself from bed with a raging hangover on a regular basis, Alyce managed to force her hand against the trunk of the tree she'd been crushed against, pulling herself into a sitting up position, hoping to get a better view of the situation. It was pretty dire. The bear wasn't more than a few arms lengths away from her, but thank God someone had managed to shoot an arrow into its eye. It was blind on this side, so it probably hadn't noticed she was still breathing. Judging from its wild flailing and the fact it was still screaming, the arrow had only just hit its mark.

It seemed the bear had more important things to worry about than an injured rogue though. It was such a surreal moment that her brain took a few seconds to properly process that this was indeed happening. Fabian was charging the bear. Fabian, whose main priority was survival, was charging the bear, which had killed half their party within a few seconds. Fabian was charging the bear. Her heart leapt into her throat as she watched the knight run forward, slicing into the animal's stomach. She cheered, despite the pain in her chest, as the beast screamed, only to have her jubilant cry cut short as a massive forepaw connected with the warrior's skull.

Fabian crumpled, defeated, and Alyce felt herself grow stiff against the bark of the tree. Her breathing grew shallow and quick, eyes trained carefully on the bear, which was now on all four feet again, snuffling in a way that would have been pathetic had she not just seen it kill two people and a horse with less effort than it took to slip on a boot. The beast turned its head, [removed], and Alyce was sure her heart had stopped. This was it then. Her whole wretched life had all been leading up until this moment.

Apparently though, she was destined to survive. The bear, apparently deciding that this prey was too troublesome, was retreating, lumbering off at a fairly impressive speed given its size into the undergrowth. Alyce remained frozen in place for a couple of seconds, before letting out a long, shaking breath [removed].

The adrenaline wore off pretty quickly, and it didn't take long for her ribs to start complaining, but she was a little too exhausted to care. Curling up and falling asleep among the corpses seemed very appealing right now. "I can't believe that just happened," she whispered into the soil, shorty before erupting into manic laughter. her chest complaining with every hysterical giggle.

Allya didn't like the looks of this. The bear had already struck down two of their companions without breaking a sweat with little damage on its part. By some great miracle, piercings its eye had, in fact, aided the trio. For an amount of time, the monster completely ignored Alyce and well, Fabian, just as Allya hoped, charged like a bull. His great sword sliced through the skin of the beast. Allya was ready to crack a small smile when suddenly, the warrior was swatted away more like an annoying fly. Her heart leaped in her throat, less so for the man, more with the impeding realisation that 'if it could do that to him, what could it do to me?'. Fabian slammed against the Earth, a sickening 'thud' announcing his landing. The elf considered rushing to his aid, if only to scream out of horror and beg for him to get up (she wasn't below that to survive), but there was the more imminent threat of the creature. Now, as the only healthy enemy, she wouldn't be surprised if its hungry gaze swept to herself.

To her relief, this wasn't the case. The great bear instead cast a swift glance towards Alyce and it was almost as though time had stopped. Blood still oozing from its eye, it turned and bolted with worrying speed. Although certainly glad, the archer was confused. Why had the animal retreated? It was evident that it would have won the battle, injured or no. Certainly, it would have at least attained some personal vendetta against those who wounded its thick hide? It was far too convenient - far too simple. Allya didn't like it one bit.

Her attention was drawn from her musing to the crackling laughter of the fellow rogue. Alyce bathed in the blood of the horse's corpse, giggling like a madman, her mirth booming across Narivi. It was disturbing, to say the very least. Deeming it safe, Allya sheathed her bow and arrows. It occurred to her that she could just leave now. The two were incapable of chasing her in their condition and the stallion lay dead at her feet. Regretfully, however, a small, niggling part of her conscience dutifully reprimanded her for such abandoning thoughts. She may have been ruthless and they may have kidnapped her, but she wasn't about to leave them out in the forest to die.

Deeming Alyce at least semi-able (considering her insane laughter), Allya darted over to Fabian. In all honesty, he didn't look so good. A flow of elvhen curses left her chapped lips. Despite living on her own for so long, Allya only knew the bare basics of healing. A few herbs, a good eye and some home-made techniques were all she gained over her travelling years. She recognised the head injury (as well as a possible concussion) and the dislocated shoulder, but beyond that, she was of little help. Noting his failing consciousness, her hand struck his cheek, fast and hard. It was ironic she was doing it for his safety and not for her own personal pleasure.
"Stay awake," she demanded coldly. Eyes scouring the area, she thankfully spotted a few of the pouches the company had snatched from her. She grabbed one and from it, gripped a handful of medicinal herbs, all but attempting to shove them into Fabian's mouth. "Chew," she demanded. Hopefully it would ease the pain of his wounds and clear his head a little. Casting her gaze over in Alyce's direction, she grunted, gesturing for the woman to make her way over if she could. Allya had no idea of the wounds she sustained as well. Heavens above, she couldn't believe she was doing this. Half an hour ago she would have bolted at the chance.

"The closest town isn't too far from here," she said to Alyce. "You will be able to gain aid there." It would take a little while to walk however, not to mention with the looming threat of further danger. The scent of blood would soon attract other animals, such as wolves and various scavengers. It would do them well to vacate the premises as swiftly as possible.

The warrior had no idea what was going on at all. He didn't know if the bear was leaving, he didn't know if it was getting closer to him, ready to rip him into shreds and that would be the end of it. Actually, he couldn't even remember what had happened, how he had ended up on the forest floor with the scent of iron and death strong in his nose and his dead horse a pile of organs not far away. The man couldn't get his head around it; the last thing he remembered was capturing - if it could be called that - Allya and tying her wrists together. Other than that, Fabian had literally no idea what was going on.

His position could be quite comfortable, actually. If it wasn't for the fierce pain in his left shoulder. If it wasn't for the blood dripping down his face, slicking his hair to his forehead. The man could feel it drying, making his skin prickle and cool. Fabian felt properly sick now too, like if he moved he would immediately vomit everywhere. The man's eyes stared up at the forest canopy, blinking away some of the blood and being utterly confused by how his vision was blurry and double. There was a severe headache forming behind the front of his skull, though in comparison to his poor arm it was nothing. God, Fabian even felt dizzy; the forest floor was rocking under his back like the pitching deck of a ship in high seas. That was almost enough to make him vomit anyway. In the distance he could hear Alyce laughing like a maniac. "Shu' 'er up," Fabian begged, actually begged, wishing he could roll over and shut out the noise. Every word he spoke was highly slurred, and before he could say anything else Allya was crouching at his side, slapping his cheek and soon shoving leaves into his mouth.

His tongue felt thick and heavy, totally taking up his mouth as he fought to chew on the leaves, trying to figure out what else the female elf had said. Something about staying awake. He could do that, if he tried. Maybe. By the time he had decided that, she was saying something about getting to a nearby town. They'd have people to help them, wouldn't they? Still, Fabian didn't feel like he could get up right now, and he could hardly ask the women to carry him. Besides, he was currently somewhat distracted by how foul the leaves tasted, and, for a moment half-heartedly tried to spit them out, chewed scraps latching onto his lips before he gave up. Should he swallow them?"M' arm.... pu' it back in." He mumbled around the half chewed mess in his oral cavity. The man would feel a little better if someone would just put his arm back in its socket.

Alyce  obias  aux
Human  Spy

With:  the  Party

Eventually the pain in her chest made her stop her panicked laughter. She was content, for the moment, to lie among the organs, her thoughts pleasantly fuzzy in a way that normally required copious amounts of alcohol, or other such substances. The world seemed to be moving much slower than it had been before, a far more comfortable pace than how it had been but a few moments before. Her heart was no longer trying to force its way out of her body, which was good. Alyce sucked in a long breath, her ribs complaining, trying to steady herself.

Slowly, she pushed herself into an upright position, running her hand through her hair. She wasn't terribly surprised when it came away sticky. Unlikely to be serious, despite the blood; head wounds were always messy. She blinked a couple of times, trying to focus. God, she felt rough. If she was feeling lousy now, she shuddered to think what it would be like tomorrow morning. At least there is going to be a tomorrow, she reminded herself. She fancied she could still smell the death on the bear's breath. Well. At least she knew what her nightmares would be about for the next few days.

Carefully, she examined herself, coming to the conclusion that her ribs were the worst of it. That was fine. She'd dealt with far worse than a few cracked bones before. Wiping her bloodied hand against the fabric of her tunic, she surveyed the scene. Apart from all the bodies decorating the area, all seemed calm enough for now. They were in no immediate danger. That thing would have scared off anything that could even remotely have posed a threat to them. Still, best to move on as soon as possible. Allya had come down from her tree, and was tending to Fabian, which was a lovely bit of irony she'd save for later. The warrior must have been badly injured, probably worse than her. She hoped he'd survive. He was a friend. Not a particularly good one, but a friend. Alyce had precious few to lose.

She made the mistake of trying to stand up, only for nausea to immediately overcome her. The entire forest began to spin around her, almost making her lose her balance. Through willpower alone she managed to remain on her feet. Well, willpower and a hell of a lot of practising walking when hardly able to stand. If only she could say this was a position she never found herself in. Vomit, her old companion, chose to an appearance, presumably to ensure she wasn't feeling in the slightest bit well, which was charming. She threw up on her boots.

Swearing a little as she wiped her mouth, she managed to straighten up a little, her other hand pressed up against her abdomen. There was nothing they'd be able to do here about it, so best just ignore it. She was good at ignoring things, especially things about herself. One of her many talents. She shuffled over a little stiffly to her only remaining companions, grumbling quietly to herself about demons and magic and her own stupidity. "Well," she breathed, weaving some humour into her voice with too much effort. "That went well." She leaned a little against Allya, trying to steady herself as the world lurched again. Good times.

She couldn't quite suppress the smirk as she witnessed Fabian's slightly bewildered expression. He was a composed man, and she relished any chance she got to see him as anything less than stoic. One day she'd manage to get him drunk enough to prove he was actually human and capable of expressing emotion. She'd tried that a few times in the past, but it had almost invariably ended with him remaining just as expressionless and her passed out on the floor. The man whined pitifully, slurring something about his arm, but to her ringing ears it was mostly unintelligible babble. "God, you're looking rough." She spoke as if commenting on the weather, looking him over. His arm was hanging limply at an awkward angle. It needed pitting back in, presumably something Fabian himself had noted and failed to communicate.

"Have you done this kind of thing before?" she asked Allya, gesturing vaguely towards the man's injury. She wouldn't be able to do it without jarring her ribs. "I can talk you through it if you haven't. Probably. I've never tried giving instructions before. Normally it's me with this kind of injury to be honest." The sooner this gone done the better. Alyce could pick through the remains of their comrades for anything that might still be useful to them while Fabian got patched up, and then they could get out of this leafy green hellhole.

Allya was about to bark something in Alyce's general direction before the woman finally ceased her hysteria. As she hobbled over it appeared that she too was injured to an extent. Whatever it was, she could do little other than feed her the same herb. Whilst external injuries were easily treated, internal ones were not and, other than the head injury, everything for Alyce appeared internal. Hearing her retch, the elven rogue grimaced, a little concerned for the spy. She was, after all, the only decent one here. It was a shame her sacrifice had earned her such injuries as Allya walked away scot-free. As Alyce leaned lightly against her, she dug through her pouches once more to produce more of the herbs, offering them to the woman. It wouldn't do much, but it should make her feel better. They were probably marginally more tasteful than the puke she had regurgitated earlier on, anyway.

At Alyce's words, Allya made a few vague motions with her hands.
"Once or twice," she responded honestly. She was far too careful to earn herself an injury like that and it was rare for her to have companions. She specifically recalled one such individual - an elven boy her age who had drifted from his clan. He had managed to dislocate his shoulder after a particularly nasty run-in with a few bandits. Allya, naturally, had panicked, but the man had been patient enough to guide her through the setting process. Frightened and inexperienced, she had set it too slow and too painful. However, she had got it done. That was the important part. Unfortunately, the aforementioned elf man had later died of disease, but that was not her doing.

Swallowing the lump in her throat, Allya's small hands found their place - one bracing Fabian's back as the other gingerly gripped his arm. She inhaled deeply to calm her nerves. Hopefully, the warrior was too out of it to note her shakiness.
"Alright, on the count of three," she said. "One-" Purposely cutting short, she slipped the bone back into its socket, teeth grinding together at the feeling. This was precisely why she wasn't a doctor. If she didn't get around so much she had no doubt that she'd be absolutely useless to the two before her.

Offering no sympathies, she dusted her hands off on her filthy (and now a little blood-stained) tunic. Perhaps it'd be wise to invest in a new one, she thought as she absently thumbed a hole. Her green eyes scoured the area - the donkey! She'd forgotten all about it. Perhaps it could provide purchase for either companions should they collapse. For now, however, she'd see how well they could walk. An hour ago, had someone told her she'd have an arm around Fabian, she may have spat in their face. Still, there she was, struggling to get his good arm around her shoulders to lift him to his feet. What kind of horrid thing she'd done to deserve this type of karma was beyond her.

"I suggest at least one of you rides the donkey," she grunted, using her strength to haul Fabian to his feet. He was at least a head taller than her and whilst he had pounds of muscle, she had only the little that lined her arms and calves. At least he wasn't wearing anything overly heavy. "We must make haste. I do not wish to be here when the stench gathers other beasts."

((Disclaimer: I know nothing about relocating dislocated shoulders))

Fabian didn't care for Alyce or what she was doing. He was too busy being grateful that she'd shut up and that he was alive, so when he heard her vomiting in the somewhat distance he just closed his eyes and tried to regulate his breathing. Deep breaths were what he needed, slowly breathing in through his nose and exhaling through his mouth, listening to the almost complete silence. This plan worked a little, as the world gradually stopped shifting under his back, but then Alyce commented on his appearance. "Go away." Was all he managed to say in response, his mind too muddled to come up with a decent comeback. Not that it mattered, because soon Allya had one hand on his back and the other one gripping his arm. There might as well have been no warning.

To say that Fabian screamed was an understatement.

He roared in his pain. He swore so much his face, if somehow possible, became red with rage before colour drained from his skin. His legs jerked violently and he almost shot straight up into an upright sitting position - as it was, the only reason he didn't want how bad his head felt. And then, finally, the pain subsided as much as it would at that moment and the man's arm felt as best as it could, given the circumstances. But then a black wave of unconsciousness ran over the man like an incoming tide and he was out of it.

Not for long, for when he awoke a couple of seconds later the elf was hauling him to his feet, one arm supporting his greater weight as she struggled to get him vertical. To be honest, Fabian didn't really help matters much. This new position had him swaying strongly as his stomach contents moved up his esophagus and he desperately tried not to faint again (he'd done it once, he wasn't doing it again), the skin of his face now ashen and grey. "I fink 'm gonna be sick." He managed to warn them - what a gentleman he was! - before he was following Alyce's earlier lead and hurling onto the leaf litter. You'd think it would have been something impressive, given his bulk, but really it happened in quite a weak manner; it could have been comically weak if not for the circumstances. Still, his shoulders shook as, after everything came out, he continued to dry heave for some amount of time until he dared to move his injured arm to wipe his mouth. That wasn't a good idea, as he suddenly felt like cutting his arm off was the best thing to do.

At the suggestion of riding the donkey, Fabian would have run over to the animal if he could. As it was, he couldn't, so all he could do was nod and hope that the elven woman would lead him over to the animal. There was no way he was going to be able to walk more than a few feet.
