Rats don't have as "terrible" demand as many people think. Yes, rats are less wanted than more popular species like cats and dogs. No, not everyone barfs when they receive an "unfair" trade with a rat offered for their other species. Why do you think you rarely ever see List rats such as the jack-o'-lantern or rose rats up for trade or auction? The rose rat is huge, you just don't hear about it. I wouldn't say CS's rat following is exactly small, but it is indeed nothing compared to the dog fans; still, there are plenty of people who want those rats, even if only for a complete collection. My only point here is, please don't keep saying "oh, rats have terrible demand." Words are powerful. I would really appreciate if people could try saying "rats don't have the best demand" "-whatever species- is more popular than rats" or something similar. I at least want to see what happens if new players aren't told "rats have bad demand, you want to get rid of them," especially since they won't be parroting it and spreading what isn't entirely true. Outright saying rats have bad demand is both exaggerating and furthers their "bad" rap, so please just think about trying it. :\

The only trick (besides finding someone who can afford it) is finding someone who wants the rat enough to pay for it fairly or to underpay reasonably, rather than this ridiculous "one bottom tier Advent for your pathetic Main List rat." The problem I see is that most people don't have complete collections and thus are focusing on more popular species of List pets since they will only gain value with time (and more demand), thus the rats get overshadowed. I say, give it some more time. I have plenty of pets I don't want sitting in my trade groups either, but I absolutely refuse to take any underpay that I do not find reasonable. I just refuse to give in like that, both for myself (I don't really make "profit" anymore) and for the rats; massive underpay like that will only reinforce the idea that rats are lesser and thus it's okay to underpay horribly for them, something that would get an irritated post on the TRT if the rat were instead a dog.
