Thank you!

It's actually paper clay coated with a tough layer of Aves Apoxie Sculpt, both for durability, and that's what I've sculpted the details into.

is it weird that i'm not even finished the two other costumes I'm doing for the one con i go to a year. but i'm already looking forward to doing my next cosplay project. which is either gonna be gala fluttershy, princess luna, loki or claudia donovan. Haven't decided yet.

oo yes
personally i'd like to see luna or loki done. =v=
i just got the best idea to draw

Where do you cosplay? Conventions, Movie Theaters, etc.
Do you buy your costumes, or make them yourself? I make my costumes. c:
What was your first costume? Bellatrix, from Harry Potter.
What is your favorite costume that you've done? Loki, from the Marvel cinematic universe, and I'm not even finished with it. hehe
What is your favorite costume that you've seen someone else do? Probably Fahrlight's Loki.

Here's some of the armour that I've done. c:

-snip-

My helmet is still in progress. xP

holy moly wow i love all your armour especially the loki helmet *-* < 3 good job.

you cosplay at movie theaters? i've never heard people do that before tbh.
do you get many weird stares and glares when you do?

I've heard of people doing it
my mum did for a midnight screening when the hobbit unexpected journey came out in cinemas

I half finished my rapunzel skirt (pic here)
the only reason it's half finished was because i had to stop because it was getting too cold to leave the window open while the paint dried. But I will finish it tomorrow so that costume will be done and dusted.

and drafted a pattern for my honey lemon chest plate (pic here)
I have a wig head that should be arriving next week so I should be able to start on the helmet soon too.
I have a ton to do on that costume, and I would like to get a good chunk of it done before my time gets munched up for three weeks while I take a course.

@Uchuujin: I definitely recommend trying out Apoxie sculpt if you can. It's really amazing stuff.

@Barry Allen: Oooo. That Rapunzel skirt is lovely!

Thank you! The helmet was definitely the most difficult thing that I've ever sculpted. It comes apart in two pieces -- one part goes on top, and the bottom portion comes forward from the back, slides up, and then clicks into place seamlessly just below my cheekbone, just like the original screen-used helmet does. That way, it is 100% fitted to my head and face and doesn't wobble around at all when I'm wearing it. I could literally hang upside down and it wouldn't slip off.

And yes, movie theaters. I get lots of stares and funny looks, but I've only gotten maybe two glares that I know of. Mostly people just want a picture with me, which is fine. c:
I very often go with a small cosplay group, so at least I'm never the odd one out. Sometimes we'll meet other cosplayers at midnight showings and such, as well. It's usually really fun.

most of the cosplay events that i've been to outside of cons are picnics. And I'm usually there with like between 10-30 other people. so we get weird looks occasionally, but i just try to ignore them. I'm there to hang out in costume and make new friends.

the one time when I was the ONLY cosplayer for something like this was for a meet up of bronies in my area back in 2012. And I didn't care that I was the only cosplayer. I was loving being able to show my love for a character from the show and make some new friends who had similar nerdy interests to me.

@Kat
Thank you! and your loki cosplay looks super amazing btw. Loki is one I'm looking to try and tackle in the next year or so.

is it weird that I have a hairdrier that i've used more for drying paint for cosplays than I have for my actual hair?

it looks like i'm gonna try and tackle princess Luna next. I have a good few base pieces to get started. Just need things like wig and wings.

BOOM Rapunzel is done!!

My con in a month and half or so is for three days, with the first day not only being on a weekday but being a half day.
I'm swapping red riding hood which I was going to wear on that day for Princess Luna. Ordered the wig last night, should be here in the next three weeks or so.
Got wings and hair colour spray to tint them (it's cheaper than spray paint and I don't need ID on me to be able to get it)
Got some shoes (second hand and hardly worn) that I can paint up
and after that... All I'll need to do is that chestplate/necklace thing and her cutie mark.
Got a couple dresses that could be a good base for the costume as well.

anyone else here use the cosplanner app?
i'm finding it's easier to keep track of all my projects on that than a word doc
