Comrade {m} and Feuror {m}
It had been a year. A year since I had gazed into the sky blue eyes of my lover. A year since I had heard his laugh.
A year since the car accident had put him into this coma.
This isn't real. This isn't real. This isn't real.
This had to be a nightmare.
Because, really, in what kind of universe did parents decide that they were sick of waiting for their son? It what type of world did parents sign the papers stating in one way or another that they had given up on him?
Even now, with the hand on my watch ticking closer and closer to the time when the doctors would, as his parents said, "put him out of his suffering;" I was the only one in the small hospital room. The only person holding his hand, murmuring words of love, praying to every god out there that he would wake up.
But, as always, my prayers were in vain.
I was unable to keep in a quiet sob as I reached down and gently brushed aside a wayward strand of his jet black hair, letting my fingers linger on his skin.
"Sir, you'll need to leave soon."
Startled, I quickly turned at the words, facing a much too cheerful nurse. Unable to find my voice, I simply nodded and turned back to my lover, not caring that the woman had seen the tears in my eyes. I silently cursed her as she clicked away down the hall. It wasn't fair that in a few hours she would return home to her own lover, while I would return to a now silent apartment that I had once lived in with the man before me.
Those days seemed like they had taken place in a different lifetime.
I didn't register the fact that my tears were now falling onto the white sheets, that my hand clamped around his like a lifeline was shaking.
"Please, please, please. Remember us? Remeber me? Our plans? Our dreams? The day I told you that I love you?"
All I could do was beg and plead with him, with the gods, with anyone willing him to pay for him to stay here longer.
Unfortunately, no one was listening. No one cared to help this man. I myself had devoted all of my income to keeping him alive, but it wasn't enough.
Doctors say that they want to help people. Ironicly, as soon as the money stopped coming, my lover's doctor stated that there was nothing more that he could do. Wonderful timing, for him.
"Sir, you'll need to leave now."
The cheery nurse was back.
"One.. one more minute, please..."
She nodded, but remained in the doorway.
Fine, stay. It's not as though your presence could make this worse.
With a suddering breath I leaned over the man before me and gently brushed my lips against his.
"It's not too late, love."
Apparently he thought otherwise.
I kissed him one last time and murmured a last goodbye.
Silently, I walked from the room.
Not too late. Never too late.
I saw the doctor entering the room and the nurse shutting the door.
Not too late. Never too late.
The clock on the wall disagreed.

--"So you will be staying I take it,” Voldemort drawled having just explained that disobeying him was something this girl wouldn’t want to do, but to his surprise, not that he’d show it. She smirked at him.
“Oh I suppose so. I mean it will be free room and board, right?” She spoke as if bored, as if the Death Eaters circled around her didn’t intimidate her in the slightest.
“I guess you could consider it that,” Voldemort seemed amused by her.
“But I do have one condition”
“Really. What would that be?” Voldemort kept his voice cool and was slightly amused by this show of what he believed to be bravery.
“This place is so dreary. I need to be able to get out and have fun. I mean real fun, not whatever these old men think is fun… but I presume they don’t do fun. Do they?” she looked around her purple eyes shined with laughter. The Death Eaters shifted as her gaze sweep through them. Some stepped forward brisling with anger at this foolish girl who dared speak this way to their Lord and them.
Bellatrix opened her mouth wand raised to crucio this strange girl who provoked her short temper, but Voldemort raised his hand to Bellatrix. “No Bellatrix. We want our guest to feel welcome, and I’m sure we can arrange something. Why don’t we give her Draco to escort her to where she wishes,” Voldemort smirked at Lucius who knew he was being punished again through his son, and this wasn’t a suggestion.
“Huh is Draco younger than these? I do not want to be lugging an older man around that would be counterproductive,” she shifted her weight to one foot putting a hand on her hip and pouted. Draco stepped out from behind his father and at Voldemort signal that it was okay for them all to take their masks off all of them did so. The girl looked about with a smile and then she stepped toward him and squealed, “Oh you’re definitely not old,” Draco looked nervous. She turned to Voldemort, “Can I keep him?” Voldemort gave a small chuckle at the twin looks of horror that went between Draco’s parents and the shock on Draco and the rest of the Death Eater’s faces.
“Fine by me. Why don’t we get you settled into a room...? You still haven’t given us your name,” Voldemort reminded since when they’d first asked for it she’d stubbed them with a ‘Why do you need to know?’
“Call me Fae, since that is why you wanted me, because of what I am?” She teased making her wings visible for a brief flash. They all gave her such tense attention at that it seemed as if time had stopped.
“Fae then, Draco take Fae to a spare room,” the Death Eaters crowded the circle around their Dark Lord cutting Draco and Fae out. Lucius and Narcissa held back a bit watching Draco walk her out.

“Well this place is lovely, but what’s with all the boring?” She was half skipping beside Draco up the stairs and through the long gothic halls.
“Malfoy Manor is my home, and is not boring” Draco stated trying to cold shoulder her.
“Oooh,” she mocked, “So sorry! This manor’s yours then?” He turned to stare at her raising an eyebrow. She stopped short and tilted her head, and he just whipped back around and rushed up the stairs not even bothering to check if she followed. She stared after him for a few moments before trailing behind him.
“So when can I take you out to a teen club?” She asked flitting around behind him.
“A what?”
“Teen club, it’s a muggle thing. In America there are some really good ones, so I spend a lot of time there.”
“Muggle, really?” He asked as if he didn’t care, but his faint at monotony didn’t happen as well as he probably hoped. “How do you get to America, by Floo?”
“Oh I have my ways,” she smiled sweetly and allowed her magic to pulse which made the chandeliers and other priceless artifacts jiggle and some crashes came from the distance. Draco whipped around.
“What is wrong with you? You realize everyone downstairs is probably wondering what just happened!” He had been too nervous lately emotions tight like a coil, so he sneered in her face implying her stupidity and his anger at her.
“Calm down I can assure you they didn’t noticed a thing. Well, at least until they see whatever has broken,” she laughed in his face. He glared and she wasn’t fazed in the least still giggling.
“You are so strange,” Draco sighed and opened a door to a beautifully arranged room with a bed fit for a princess.
“Well I’m above 70 years old, but still a teen, so I suppose that is true,” she danced across the room and leaned back on the bed.
“And now I’m disgusted. Stay here-”
“Disgusted? Aw now I’m sad Draco-Wait you’re leaving?” She’d spoken over him and he was giving her that ‘you idiot’ glare again. She pouted and looked at him through her eyelashes as she played with her hip length flaming red hair. Her features practically glowed with their bright colours in the dark neutrals of the room. Draco looked at her flabbergasted for a moment before slamming the door.
“Aw he’s no fun,” she flopped back on her silver and black ornately decorated bedspread and stared up at the tool and curtain of the four poster thinking what was it she had gotten herself into this time.

Abhorrette && Dannegiare{ p.arts one and two }
I've seen her five more times since we spoke. But I don't go to her, and she disappears if I ignore her. I spent a while pondering about the rabbit, but I couldn't find any reason for her to want such a tasty snack to stay alive. Doesn't she eat rabbit too? Was she saving it for later? Or maybe she was bringing it back to her pups, if she had any? But then, why wouldn't she just kill it anyway, so that it couldn't run away? It all seemed too peculiar. I couldn't understand at all.
And then I realized something else about her.
She wasn't scrawny like the rest of us, she was full and healthy.
Where was she getting all the food?
And that's why I'm out in the woods again. I left without my hunting group this time; there's not anything for them to find. If anyone can get to food, it's me, not them. I'm the only one who can see her, I'm the only one who can get to her.
But she isn't here.
"Abhorrette!" I call for her, desperately now; my stomach must be trying to digest itself by now. I'll be nothing but fur and bones if I can't find food. We've already lost a packmate to hunger this week; more will follow him if this continues.
And still my hallucination doesn't answer me.
"Abhorrette.." I murmur, one last time.
A low whistle sounds to my left. "Wellp, assa naeme I 'aven't 'earld in a looongggg while." The voice is scratchy, slow as molasses, and thick with a scottish accent. I turn toward it, and my boring brown eyes rest on a scruffy old fox, who smiles at me with the three teeth he has left.
My head whips around a few times, just checking to make sure he's talking to me. "You... know her? I ask uncertainly. How could he possibly share the images my brain makes up for me?
"A'course I due, tha girll's a foalktale ya idiot." He stalks toward me the way foxes do, shoulders shifting up and down like a cat. "Once snow white, and now steined wit' blud, she traveils wit' a snack the waey no o'er should, no loanger the sweet Sugarrette, now Abhorrette, the Marionnette." He looks at me expectantly, and narrows his eyes when the look of confusion does not leave my face. "She was liek youh, once," he explains boredly, poking me in the chest. "One a' yourrr kind, she used ta be. Sweet as anythin', ya knoe, loved everythin'. Dissapearred years agoah, nevah seen agaein. We tell 'er stoary to ouar kiats, ya knoe."
All this seems so unreal to me. "She used to be all white?" I'm still trying to wrap my head around the beginning of his rhyme, let alone the rest.
The mangy old fox shakes his head at me sadly. "By the looks a' youh, sonneh, ya needa stop sulkin' arouund about lief, an' git payin' attention to tha worrld." He sneaks off, leaving me to my self-pitying, depressive self.
And I know he's right. There's no point being depressed. But there's no point being happy either, in this world.
Wait.
"She travels with a snack the way no other should..."
Of course.
The rabbit.
I bolt off as fast as my legs will take me, desperately searching for her.
"ABHORRETTE!
