Mhambi stands at five feet and eight inches, her shape feminine and small but usually hidden under loose fitting clothes. Her skin is dark and her features prominently display her ethnicity. Exotically upturned eyes, full pink lips, and the angular outline of her face paint her as a mirror image to her mother. She is very, very meticulous about the condition of her hair and, for the sake of her desert excursion, she's opted to keep it tied back in a braid or clipped close to her head.

{ Personality }

The anthropologist is a curious, excitable sort. She is dedicated, setting herself on a course to follow to it's completion, and consistently and passionately driven towards her goals. Her excitability and habit of babbling about her favorite cultures often cut short friendships but she doesn't seem to mind, seemingly more interested in her studies than in forming lasting relationships. She adores studying the lives and culture of people, especially South African people, and hopes her trip will give her first hand experience in her field.

{ History }

Ubuhle Vanell was a quiet, sweet resident of South Africa when her husband passed away. Pregnant at the time and having no way to support her coming child the mother-to-be fled to France to join her sister in the hopes of finding somewhere comfortable to raise her child. Here she met her second husband and, though their life in France was beyond comfortable together, she missed some aspects of her home country. The tiny, sparkly eyed Mhambi grew up on a mix of French culture and stories of her ancestral home, always dreaming of the aging culture her mother had described. Now a nearly-graduating university student, Mhambi hopes the Kalahari Desert will bring her a little closer to the dreams she had as a child. Her time in France gave her a very strong French accent.

Khalil is a lean, muscled six feet. He's dealt a lot with infant and juvenile elephants and the lifting involved with such a specialization has shaped him into a well sculpted young man. His features are particularly sharp and masculine, especially in the angle of his jaw and the hard set of his brow. However, his stoic appearance is usually lightened by a bashful smile.

{ Personality }

The biologist is a lot like the elephants he holds so dear. His attitude is calm and put together, his physical presence imposing and kind, and his demeanor is spiritual and introspective. His calm, stoniness is, in a way, appealing and reassuring but, unlike his elephants, he does not travel in a safe group and so when in danger he is easily startled. He enjoys drawing his subjects and keeps a book of detailed sketches and journal entries but rarely shares them, as he doesn't socialize enough to have anyone to share them with.

{ History }

Khalil is very quiet about his early life. He believes it was rather cliche, and considerably boring. His family lived all over the place, following his adventurous missionary father, but never really settled down He had exposure to many countries and cultures but never was he so captivated by anything more than elephants. After his father's death his mother settled her now smaller family in Denmark, where Khalil chased his degree. His visit to the Kalahari, he hopes, will further his conservation efforts toward protecting his beloved subjects.
