I believe it's actually unfair to them, since their side is worth 2 early '09 rares. An '08 rare is worth an '09 rare + a '10 rare and the other pets on your side don't add up to another '10 rare.

1. Unfair to them. The gap betwene their pink/purple/white string horse and your emerald b-wolf is only an '09 uncommon (or an '11 rare), not an '09 rare and a '15 rare.

2. Unfair to you, like I've mentioned above.

Unfair to them. Their recent store pet is worth a late '10 rare. Your late '09 uncommon is worth a late '11 rare, so if you took out the '14 pets, you'd have to add another late '11 rare (or a late '09 uncommon) in order for it to be fair.
