1X1 with ~Griffin: Scout and Akane

"Oh please tell me," Ami begged. "Please please please please please, Akane."

Scout hid a chuckle behind his paw, his tail wagging in excitement and anticipation for the story.

[Maxella Roe]

"Well, a long time ago, the famous Queen Medb of Connaught gathered herself an army of men. All because she wanted to gain possession of the most famous bull in all of Ireland. A chieftain of Ulster named Daire was the rightful owner of the bull. The men of Ulster were brought down by a terrible curse. So it was up to the seventeen year old human to single-handedly defend Ulster by himself." Akane pictured the story in her mind with shadows and figures of what she thought humans might look like based on how Nuala had described them. She continued with the long story, Ami listening eagerly to the tale as she told it, and in the manner of young children, popping an occasional question here and there, which Akane gladly answered.

When the story was over, Ami yawned and cuddled closer to Akane. "Thank you for the story," she mumbled sleepily.

Scout stands and walks over, picking Ami up in one of his front legs. He nuzzles her cheek before carrying her to the beanbag they use as a bed and laying her down. "Sweet dreams," he whispers, nuzzling her forehead.

Akane smiled as she listened carefully to Scout tucking his daughter safely into bed. "You're a wonderful father." She praised him. "Seems to me like you mean the world to her. She looks up to you like you hung the moon." She smiled as Scout made sure she was safe and warm.

Scout blushed and moved back over to Akane, rubbing his cheek against hers. "You would be just as good a mother," he whispers. He really thought that she might be the one. Ami took to her like flies to honey, and he could tell she really cared.

Akane blushed warmly and smiled at Scout's praise. "Well, I do love children. And your Ami is really a sweet, sweet girl. You're lucky to have a little Voxxie like her." She flicked her ears affectionately.

He blushes, wrapping her in a hug and holding her close. "You could stay here, you know," he whispers. "Be a part of my family. We could go on adventures together and never have to say goodbye."

[Maxella Roe]

She sighed. "That's a big decision Scout." She said evenly, hoping he wouldn't take that the wrong way. "I think I should... well, think about it. I'm not quite sure yet, I just met you, and Ami, and you're both wonderful. And I really like you Scout. But I will need a bit of time to make a decision. We just met today." she smiled at him and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

He nods, blushing lightly. "That's okay, Akane. Take all the time you need." He just wanted her to be happy more than anything. It was almost like he needed her to be happy more than he needed air to breathe, so he wouldn't pressure her. That was the easiest way to lose a friend, and there was no way he was going to lose her.

She smiled. "But, I would love to stay the night with you if you would have me." She said, rather relieved that he hadn't been hurt by her statement. She found it rather endearing that he seemed to care so much about her that he wouldn't try to pressure her, or force her to make a decision quickly, one that she may regret. She wanted to stay with him possibly forever, so she hoped this went well.
