She looked over at Darkwing and padded over "what is it?" she asked him "something wrong..?"

The warrior cat nearly plowed into Mistystar in his haste, but luckily he managed to stop himself just in time. "There is . . ." His chest expanded heavily as he inhaled huge amounts of air. "Near the clan. So close, way too close." Darkwing took another second to compose himself before his great grey eyes met Mistystar's. "Badgers. We have to do something."

"Stormjaw" she yowled for the deputy of the clan, he could get a few warriors to come.

Storm jaw padded over to Misty star, Runningblade still padding after him. "Yes?" He asked the leader.

"we need a few warriors, Darkwing reported a badger too close for comfort.." she meowed

Darkwing had managed to calm himself, and was now standing stiff and alert - he was all business now as he spoke to the warriors who approached. "I didn't see the size of the animal, and I'm unsure how many there are, but there's at least one down there that could cause us problems if something isn't done immediately. With Featherflight close to having kits and the small amount of apprentices we have, we can't afford to allow the beast to wander." He turned back towards Mistystar. "This way." He turned on his heels and sprinted down the path he'd taken before, following the scent he'd found earlier.

"come on" she meowed to Stormjaw and followed after Darkwing 'why now..?' she thought.

The scent grew stronger with every step, and now that Darkwing knew what the animal was the smell was enough to choke him. How could he not recognize badger? A fox he would have known immediately, but these were a lot more dangerous. He moved quickly, practically tripping over himself in his haste to get to the hole he'd discovered. Finally he stopped and looked towards his clan mates, his eyes serious. "The hole is there. I think-" A sound made him stiffen, and the smell of badger was suddenly overwhelming.

Oakleaf-
He purred. "I see. Fernpaw, would you like to go?" he asked the apprentice. Why does Blindsong always look at the ground? I feel bad. Is it me? he wondered.

Iceleap padded over to Mistystar. "May I come along?" she asked the leader respectfully.
