Delta Velorum Foxes are tall looking foxes that are only located on the remote planet of Delta Velorum.

Standing between 2 - 2 1/2 feet at the should, Delta Velorum Foxes are very tall in appearance compared to Red Foxes on Earth. They tend to be long legged in appearance and are well known for their endurance and agility. Males tend to be more muscular then females while female are more slender and elegant in appearance. A Delta Foxes fur tends to be very soft and short, and come in a wide variety of natural colors. It is not uncommon to see them in roans and dun colors similar to horses and are commonly seen in cat colors and patterns as well (such as calico, tabby, bengal markings ect). However the combination of colors and patterns are limitless, and each Delta Velorum Fox is different from the next. No two are ever the same in looks. Delta Velorum Foxes can come in any eye color and combination - no matter if it's natural or unnatural. A fox with two or more eye colors (known as Heterochromia) is uncommon but not unheard of.

Personality:
Ripty has a duel personality just like he has a duel base coat. Its almost as if he is two
Foxes rolled into one and often the two personalities clash and he seems to suffer
from bipolar disorder. His primary personality is the following;
Ripty is not anything close to being a social butterfly; in fact he struggles to socialize
and always seems socially awkward around anyone and everyone. But this is not
entirely his own fault, it is not that he doesn’t like the companionship or presence of
others he just isn’t well practiced. He was raised by a single mother who was some-
what alarmed by his chimera markings so she kept him hidden from others for a little
while so he never really got the chance to have a real kithood where he could learn to
properly mingle with others.
But Ripty is not solitary in one bit, he does not like to be alone or see others alone. He
has taken on the guardian angle role when it comes to his sister because she is all he
has left after their mothers passing. He is committed to providing for her till she is old
enough to provide for herself. This brings out his hidden and unexercised leadership
skills that he doesn’t actually know he has. Ty is protective of those he cares about and
will do anything to keep them safe, including throwing himself in harms way.

His alternative side is not nearly as adorable and humble. This is the side of him that
he does not enjoy very much and often tries to supress as best as he can;
When this personality shines through he demonstrates a high egotistic personality. He
is ruling and aggressive and often scares himself with how high on himself he actually
gets. He is slightly grotesque and confrontational. The only time that Ripty actually
uses this personality for his own advantage is when he finds himself in a confrontation.
When his mind is tangled up in being this other self of his he is more witty and quick
thinking, he finds that he is more confident in himself to be able to manage himself
and often it saves his but when he does get caught up between a rock and a hard
place. But he dislikes this personality and tries to escape it every chance he gets,
especially so that his sister does not see it, he doesn’t want her to see that ugly side
of him.

History:
Ripty's mother had fallen in love with the wrong kind of Todd and when she discovered that she was pregnant with kits she knew that the todd she was with would not stay by her side. she gave birth to her first litter ad a very young age and only had a single kit. This being Ripty. she was startled by the kits unusual coat coloration and at first was concerned that the kit would be teased for it. she she kept him stashed away from the wrest of the clan for quite some time. She raised Ripty by herself without the help of any others. Ripty adored his mothers strength and resilience and fantasized about all the great adventures they would have together.
But Ripty's mother fell in love with another Todd that Ripty knew would take care of the two of them. he was about ready to accept this new male to be his fatherly figure when His mother announced she was pregnant with her second litter. Ripty was excited and anxious about the upcoming delivery and resented his mothers new mate for putting him in this situation. but what came next was far more tragic then him loosing his mother's sole attention; instead he lost her altogether. Complications within the birthing process caused Ripty's mother to look a lot of blood. she managed to deliver one pup but was overcome by the amount of bloodless and passed away.
Ripty was left an orphan with a newborn baby sister to care for. It was time for him to grow up, he had to if either of them were going to survive. He found a nursing Vixon to take his sister into her clutch until the youngster was big enough for solid food and began to educate himself in the ways of an adult. When the war broke out between his home clan and a neighbouring clan all Ripty could think of was his sisters safety. since she is truly all he has for family he couldn't bare for anything to happen to her.

Let The Journey Begin
Ripty rested in the shade of a small shrub that hid his dark pelt from any prying eyes as he slept. his shoulder was torn open from the last confrontation the clan had faced. It had already begun to mend but it was still sore and the fresh tissue that had just barley began to form was fragile as the soft leaves of newly sprouted grass. shadows flickered over his closed eyes as a light wind tickled the stubby branches of the shrubbery. Ripty's eyes moved erratically behind his eyelids as he dreamt of the war. bead of sweat had formed on his brow from the deepness of his sleep. For once in a very long time of war, Ripty had finally managed to tame and ride sleep. But sleep was dangerous. The enemy still lurked here and he in the depths of his rest he was vulnerable to attack. From the hidden shadows of the tall grass a figure approached him. its steps silent as it stalked closer and closer, eyes firmly glowed to him in preparation for the attack that would come.
The figure reached his hidden resting place and prepared to spring. it crouched, wiggled its haunches and lunged landing square on his exposed soft belly. Ripty jolted away and with a sharp snarl kicked the attacker of and sprang to his feet to face his opponent. "RYN!!!!" He snapped at the young Vixon that stood grinning before him. Her eyes glittering with amusement. "I got you" she beamed. The young pup badly came to Ripty's shoulder, her dark chocolate coat and vivid eyes reminded Ripty briefly of his mother. "I have told you not to do that!" he scolded approaching her with his hackles raised in warning "what if i had attacked you, i could have seriously hurt you!" the little female chuckled and flipped her long tail at him. "You would't be able to catch me," she teased, but a sudden sadness came over her face at his words. "I just hurt everyone" the pup's ears drooped and Ripty instantly felt awful for his sharp words. "That is not true" he cued and pulled his sister close to him with one paw so that she was pressed against his side. "You can't listen to a word any of those other pups say" a darkness came into his voice as he thought of all the youngsters that teased his sister for what happened to their mother. He wished he could protect his sister from their cruel words but he couldn't.

his sister relaxed a little and he let her step back. She put on a half hearted smile that seemed to be as forced as she could possibly manage. "Everyone is about ready to go" she announced with a bit of sadness in her voice. "I came to get you to make sure that you didn't miss leaving with the group" Ripty smiled at his sister. He stood and stretched, but felt the tender scab of his injury pull slightly from the effort and he winced. His sister glanced at him "we can leave tomorrow if you want?" her eyes were filled with concern and he laughed, pleased that she had been concerned about him. "Ill make it" he nudged her and began to walk towards the group of gathering foxes who where preparing to leave. "Its safer to travel with the group" he added. Ryn bound ahead of him to reach the rest of the group and sought out the few younger pups that she called friends. But Rypty was not as excited to leave this place. These grasslands had been his home since birth and he had shed his blood for it. He would have died for it if the Clan had not decided to leave for better, safer grounds to claim. He glanced over his shoulder at the beautiful meadows he had grown up in and sighed before joining his sister with the rest of the clan. This was a new beginning, they would leave all of the death and pain behind and find safety and happiness where ever they chose to live. But Ripty felt like he was leaving someone behind hear. "Goodbye ma" he whispered into the wind, allowing his words to be chased through the tall grass by the breeze. this is where she was buried and forever these lands would represent her to him, leaving thus place was like abandoning her.
"Ripty" He heart Ryn's voice calling to him and he glanced over at her. He had promised his mother that he would de everything to keep her daughter safe and make decisions that ensured her safety. This move would take her away from war and death but also far far away from the mother that she had never known. He felt torn but knew that she was where his life had to be and with on last goodbye to his dead mother Ripty caught up with the group and started the journey to a new home….

Braking Ice and Promises
Ripty thought that leaving would be the hardest part of the trip, he was wrong. The terrain seemed to transform as they walked. Their lush green meadow was replaced by rocky tundra and then in turn changed to mountain range. They had to cross the mountains to put a barrier between Them and the clan that had sought to wipe them out, it was the only thing that would guarantee their safety. The weather turned cold as they climbed higher and higher into the peeks of the treacherous mountains. Ripty hung to the back of the group, nudging straggling kits forwards so that they would not be left behind. Many stumbled, many caught their paws on the sharp edges of rocks and left red smears where their bleeding paws trudged un carelessly. They even came across snow, something they were not as used to in their old home. at first the youngsters rejoiced and bounced joyfully around in the heaps of built up snow. But quickly they became soaked to the skin and the cold chased them back to their mothers sides.
Ripty found himself sulking, he hadn't wanted to leave his beloved home, all of his memories before the battles and threats of war had been there. When he remembered laughing and playing he was there. It felt wrong to leave something that meant so much to so many. He carefully watched Ryn from a distance, cringing every time he say his little sister trip or fumble. He had been forced to grow up so quick in order to care for his motherless half sister but he would not trade one second of it. He felt overwhelmed with a sense of duty to ensure that she would have the best possible future, in a place that was free from war and bloodshed. He was reminded of the bloodshed and terror every time he took a step as the edges of his still healing wound tugged slightly, it was the only thing that helped him convince himself that leaving was a good idea. For days they wondered the steep sloped and deep reveals. The deeper into the mountains they went the colder it seemed to become and the deeper the snow seemed to be. at the highest point the clan came to a halt at the crest of yet another reveal.
Bellow them they all saw a frozen river, too wide to jump and with no way around it, and from beneath the ice the frightening gurgling of rushing water spoke clear of the danger of crossing. They descended to the bank and all stood mesmerized by the glittering, smooth surface that stood between them and the rest of their journey. At first no one moved, no one dared to brave the thin ice. But finally the bata took his first tentative steps out onto the ice. The surface moaned under the weight but it held. Slowly and cautiously they all began to cross, their tentative steps were always answered by the groaning and creaking of the ice. Ripty once more waited at the back, wanting to make sure that Ryn made it across before him. He watched her take a few stupa onto the ice and he felt his heart begin to thunder in his ears with terror that she might not make it. carefully he shouldered his way to the front and watched her from the edge of the ice nervously. She was light because of her small size but the ice had began to thin from the heat of everyones paws. Ripty listened and the sounds he heard made his hair stand on end.
Under Ryn's tiny paws came the sound a crackling ice. She hesitated a moment with every step, each time the sound grew louder and more frightening.Then visible cracks began to appear around her. "RYN!" Ripty barked his warning just as Ryn's front paw broke through the thin layer of ice. without thinking about his own safety Ripty sprang onto the ice. He would not watch his sister fall to her death through the ice. He reached her quickly and grabbed hold of her scruff. With a mouthful of her fur he lifter his little sister off the ice and flung her through the air onto the other bank where the rest of the pack watched anxiously. Ryn landed awkwardly but safely on the bank of the river and scrambled to her feet. Unfortunately her heroic brother would not be joining her…
The ice beneath Ripty's paws gave way so suddenly that he had no time to react. His body was plunged into he freezing icy water beneath the ice and his limbs were caught by the current. he scrambled to catch hold go the edges of the hole he had broken and keep his head above the gushing water. at first he succeeded, fem the far bank he could hear yelps of shock and his sitter screaming his name. But his grip was slipping. He felt his claws come free of their hold and he was dragged under. The last sight he saw was his sister running towards him, and then nothing but the clear blue underside of the ice. He scratched desperately with his claws hoping to slow his decent down the river. shadows moved above him onto of the ice as members of the clan tried their best to brake holes for him, but they failed. the cold water burned against his skin and his eyes swam. but the worst part of all was the screaming pain in his lungs that begged for air. how long would he last? how long would he suffer before he surname to the deadly cold water and its cruelty of no oxygen? His struggling slowly grew weaker and then stopped all together as his body was thrown across the bottom of the river and his vision became spotty. He had thoughts of his sister and his mother before his conscience slipped away all together……..

Lonely Traveler
Death seemed strangely more terrible then Ripty expected, since in fact it felt just as painful as life and with no light to walk towards. He did not know how long his body drifted under the ice and how it was possible that he had found himself washed up on the shored of some unknown lagoon. The truth was this was not death, no, it was far worse. Ripty lay broken across the jagged rocks of a gravely sandbar. His formed seemed completely lifeless except for the shallow, weak rising and falling of his chest. but the pain in his body was not nearly as painful as that in his heart. The pack would surely believe him to be dead. The clan would continue on and take his beloved sister with them. He could not bare to think of how the youngster would blame herself for his death, just another weight thrown across her tiny shoulders. She was out there now, probably far far away from him grieving for the brother that had been her only sense of family her entire life. It sickened him and distracted him from the pains of his battered and bruised body.
after several hours of lying motionless with water lapping at his hindquarters, Ripty attempted to move. he lifted his head to peer around but the fatigue ad stiffness of his muscles made him lay it back down instantly. Every inch of him ached and felt frozen. he felt as though lead weights had been attached to his extremities making it impossible for him to bring himself to rise. but he could not lay here and allow himself to waste away. He had to get up and he had to try everything in his power to continue on so that he could find his sister. Returning to her was what gave him hope to continue on. Ripty struggled with several failed attempts to get to his feet but ended up succeeding. He stood wobbly on his feet and coughed up all the remaining water from his lungs. His front paw had been twisted unnaturally and now felt tender to put weight on. He managed to pull himself out of the water and higher up onto the shore where he found a dry spot to lay down and rest…..
His new surroundings were oddly different from the mountainous cascades where he had fallen through the ice. He observed that there were mountains all around him, peeking down from above the tree tops. Yet where he now stood seemed to be in a dish, or valley cupped in the palms of these strong silent mountains. Trees that seemed to have stood for hundreds of years waved unsympathetically at him as he slowly began to recuperate from the whole ordeal. This place felt wrong, it felt old and resentful. the lake from which he had drug himself out of was fed by the waterfall that seemed breathtakingly high. Once more Ripty wondered how he had managed to survive. It took him several cold lonely nights to finally feel brave enough to stand once more. his stomach snarled with hunger and his throat burned with thirst, these two basic needs for food and water however where not his main motivation. His motivation instead came from the thoughts of his sister who now had no one to look out for her. this thought sickened him, it made his heart ache with sadness that he had broken his promise to always be right where she needed him to be.
Finally finding the strength to stand, Ripty quenched his parched throat and scrounged around looking for edibles within the old forest. when he had managed to find a few morsels he continued on in the same direction he knew the clan would have continued forward in. In his mind he reassured himself that he would see Ryn again, she would surly be waiting for him when he reached the no clan home. it lifted his spirits as he traveled to the far end of the valley and continued to move for several days. His progress was agonizingly slow since he was held back by the battering his body had withstood. but as time past his legs became more sure once more and his breathing easier. His body however was shrunken from the lack of a decent meal. His coat had lost its lustre and hung off of his bony frame like moss on an old branch. This forest, although beautiful, was more like a desert then an oasis. it lacked life other then frees and grass, bushes that might have produced berries seemed to be withering and held no fruit and not a single sent of prey lingered among the leaves or litter. This place felt frozen in time where everything, especially the trees slept.

~~ Few weeks from when the journey began ~~

The endless days and nights alone in the wilderness was not the hardest part about being separated from his family. It was knowing that his little sister was out there with no one to watch out for her, she was still so young and so vulnerable. Ripty trudged on and on, his legs grew weary with the lack of rest and the emptiness of hunger, he didn't want to be away for much longer. But he had no clue where the clan was heading, There had been little talk about where their new home would be exactly. All Ripty knew was that it was beyond the mountains which he had nearly completed crossing. He wondered what lay ahead for his clan and what other clans might be awaiting their arrival. This hastened his pace instantly as he feared they would not be greater with kindness and that he would not reach Ryn in time to protect her from an attack she would not be prepared to escape from. This is why he traveled restlessly on through night and day. His shoulder wound that had ailed him at the beginning of the journey had now healed completely and his trip down the frozen river had released its grip on his tired muscles. He moved with speed now but he was flanked by loneliness and constantly felt the knot of hunger in his stomach.
Something within him told him he was finally close to the end of his journey. It had been almost a month of endless travel and his body showed the ware and tare. His coat was dingy, his ribs showed through and his body was lean and thick with newly toned muscle. Ripty's heart had changed as well, he no longer looked to the kindness of others, because in his own mind there was none to be found there anymore. He now saw the importance of being completely self-reliant, the only person who mattered now was him and his sister. The end was in sight, but would his body hold up until he reached it, only the last leg of the journey would stop him from reaching the the place where his sister waited for him.

~~ A few days later ~~

How much longer could he force his body to continue, a day? a week? he knew he would not last another week and certainly not much longer then a few more days. If he did not reach the new lands by the following night he feared he would surely die and in his death he would have failed both his mother and his sister. His pace was agonizingly slow and every step felt as though it might be his last. his tung lulled from the side of his mouth as his ears drooped. His breath ached and his legs shook as he fought to stay standing. He was about to give up, lay down on his side and awake death to come and relieve him of his pain and suffering so he could find peace away from here. But then he saw it. he blinked his eyes as he crested the last rocky jut tout and saw the world beyond. This place stole his breath and he found himself numb to the pains of his body and he stared in Awe of the beauty of it, this had to be the place. There was no other that could possibly be the place of his clans new home. In his excitement he forgot all feelings of pain or exhaustion and flew forward in a mindless exploitation of energy. he charged down the side of the mountain as fast as his travel wary limbs would carry him, till they failed…
Just before he the slope of the mountain began to level off Ripty tripped. his speed made it impossible to recover his feet and he rolled nose over tail tip down the remainder of the mountain and came to rest in a crumbled heap against a tree trunk. his body appeared broken and lifeless. He did not rise and it seemed as though no life remained in the shadow that had become of him. Here he lay till night fall, a chill fell around his lifeless form. This how he was found, thought to be dead until he was rolled over and let out a slight whimper. He was cared for where he lay until he was able to fight himself out of the sleep he had been forced into by his weak and frail body. When Ripty finally opened his eyes he looked up into the face of a female with golden war paint. This fox explained to him about the clans of this territory and that he was now in the territory of the Voidrunner Clan and she was the alpha. Ripty was fascinated by his new found acquaintance and questioned her hesitantly about the possibility of a new clan moving through the territory, But to his horror the female confirmed his worst fears. there had been no signs of his clan clearing the mountain. His only thoughts where that his sister and all those who knew had perished and that it somehow was his fault. The female told Ripty that he could not leave this place now, for her clan was a secret and for him to leave and go forth to find his clan would be a deadly threat to her and those within her clan, he agreed to her terms. Here he would remain and pay the debt to his new companion who had nerved him back to health.

He marks the end of his journey. The road has been rough and his family has been fractured. In his mind he would have been better off if he had just stayed where he was. Now he is here, trapped in this place with foxes he does no know and his sister's fate is unknown to him. it hurts him to think of her and all he can hope is that they made it over the mountains and have found a nice home somewhere beyond where he is now. He has sworn to keep the Voidrunner clan's secret safe and therefore in making this promise he has broken the promise of protecting his sister. He will remain here and pay back his debt as a member of the Voidrunner clan till the day he is either released or he passes.
