She had been blinded by a great
light of fire that had been thrown
into her eyes by an enemy
but she pushed on and in
the end defeated thousands
of her own to become empress.

I had lost my sight in a battle to protect my home, my stars. I used almost my entire life force to shoot a beam of light large enough to wipe out their planet in exchange for my vision. I was told never to look but I stole a peak and regreted it the rest of my life. Its not so bad being blind, you "see" things you've never seen before. I see stars, not just stars, but hope.

what caused their blindness?: Vashnu was an astronomist obsessed with the stars, and more specifically, the one we all depend on. Yes, the Sun. She would test it in any way she could; photosynthesis, solar energy, and especially solar radiation. In one particular set of tests she was in the desert and stared at the sun too long, causing her blindness. Because of improper protection, she died of skin cancer, but carried the blindness from the sun into her doll life. She does not regret what she did, and she still has a love of astronomy, having people draw indented braille star maps for her.

Everyone's forms were beautiful and very well done, but I've decided Rivkah will be the proud new owner of this doll, and especially loved the braille star maps :)
