I hope she will! I swear she's getting grey on her face, but she's still as active as ever so it helps.

I'd love to have one of your hammies, but I don't agree with posting animals and getting one over here just wouldn't be worth the quarantine time.

Orion did once, as a baby, and Honey peed a couple of times on my mum when she was young xD It was Hercules, but he's still young so I'll let him off. His little group had just arrived in the store the day I got him, so he really is a baby <3

    GUYS GUYS GUYS
You know I was asking about shelves?
Guess what! I found someone on Ebay who sells wooden shelves that come with little clips to get them on the cage. They're textured and stable, and they come in a range of sizes. There's some that come in the size I need for Hercules' cage. They're expensive, so I'm going to talk to my mum when she gets home about them, but I think it's what I'm looking for!

Those look fun! :)

Ugh. Chrysie gained 2g yesterday but had lost it by this morning... I'm going out to get esbilac because it's apparently better than KMR, but I'm not sure on anything else... I honestly am not sure she's going to make it.

Hey guys. I don't believe I've posted here before. I have a male Chinchilla named Patrick. Recently, he found a new favorite activity. It's destroying his cage. I feel like I'm cleaning it everyday. He tips over his pellets and hay and scatters them EVERYWHERE. He scatters his bedding everywhere. He just makes a huge mess.

He has toys to chew on, and Patrick gets let out of his cage for around an hour each day to run around. I thought that would be enough activity for one little Chinchilla, but maybe I'm wrong. I am kind of tired of having to deconstruct his cage each day to clean it.

Any suggestions?

He might need more out of cage an hour a day isn't very long for something as active as chinchilla.
Also how big is the cage they need alot of cage space to be active.

His cage is huge. He has three level plus one of those hanging bed/nets at the top. He's been fine up until this past week when he started acting like this.

Edit: I am unable to find the exact cage on Amazon. Though it is similar to: This ferret cage. Obviously, it doesn't have wire floors/ramps. They are plastic to avoid hurting Patrick's feet.

He still might need more out of cage time, even with a huge cage ( we know which cage you mean ) it still might not be enough exercises.
You could try upping his play time see how it goes.

Been using vetbed in Theodora & Ambrosia's cage for the past couple of days, and am I'm loving it! Soooo much better than fleece.
Got offbrand stuff from an LPS, so it doesn't hold the pee in the bottom like proper vetbed does, so I have to use puppy pads underneath, but the top is completely dry! Even with those two, who are probably the messiest pigs I have. It's load easier to pick poop off of too!
Hopefully will have them all on it soon!

Thinking I might use it in the rats too, but make fleece covers to fit over it, 'coz I reckon the fluffiness of will be more inviting to chew on XD

@ Keriae

Didn't realize you were looking for new shelves, or I'd have linked you those earlier XD I've been looking at them for the rats.

@ Cyrinus

He's just being a chinchilla. They are incredibly messy, destructive creatures.

@Spider I made a post about covering shelves with fleece, but I don't trust fleece with Hercules xD Still need to speak to my mum though, she's in a mood xD
They're great though, aren't they? Don't know how thick they are though.
