... ohhhhhh The Mortal Instruments?? Is that what y'alls are talking about??
I'm so confused about those
I never read them and I've either heard very good or very bad things, nothing in between
is that like
City of Bones and Ember and whatever?
@elizabeth OH OH ME -raises hand-
ok
hold up though
I LOVED the idea and the characters
HOWEVER comma the writing could stand to be better
especially in the second book I feel like "bloody" is every other word Newt says
and I'm like OK I GET IT HE'S ENGLISH
... but he's still my favorite
and I was kinda disappointed with some aspects and kept a mental list of things I would personally change
and oh my god
THEY CHANGED ALL THE RIGHT THINGS IN THE MOVIE AND I WAS SO EXCITED
I usually HATE film adaptations
but oh my god
The Maze Runner movie was A+ all the way
mmph
I can't wait for the second one tbh
... the second book made me very angry
... but I think the second movie will be good
... but of course that's just my opinion

Oh I HATE book Teresa with a fiery passion
I actually like movie Teresa
as for Thomas, I think they did an excellent job making him seem more
... well, ballsy in the movie
and smart
like I feel like in the book he just kept stumbling across things on accident like
"lol I have no idea what I'm doing but look an invisible hole"
... the invisible hole
was so-
oh my god
and the fake sky
and the telepathy
and the way he escaped the griever with the ivy
I was like holding by breath during the movie
I was OVERJOYED that they changed all that
because now they could see the maze up in the helicopter and I fangirled so hard because I was really hoping thatd be in the book but then the sky was fake
and with the telepathy I was kinda just like
...
really
unnecessary
and how INCREDIBLY unrealistic it was to swing... from ivy... fast enough... to escape a griever...
the way they escaped was way better in the movie
I liked the blades and how they changed the sections
... ok now that my ranting [on the first book] is over
...

YES
for me the book and the movie are just great
you're very perceptive captain i must say
tris was such a generic boring character that roth tried to make people sympathise with
to be honest their casting for divergent was really bad
I think emma watson would've suited tris much better than shailene
I mean, the book described her as hollow and thin
not like...that
also can I just say that Four's nose looks on the verge of snapping in half when he's kissing her
calm down boy

i just realized that i said westerfield instead of dashner eheheh wrong author oops
i'm sort of mult-tasking right now eeeeeeeeeeheh (kill me now i'm doing homework at ten pm hah no sleep tonight)
@ capt funny thing, i didn't realize that newt was english until the movie came out xD i was so confused
next to harry potter and the hunger games (sorta), tmr is one of my favorite film adaptations
i wanted tris to die from the beginning. i didn't really like her and almost everything she did was predictable from a point. tobias says don't do that. what does she do? doesn't listen and causes unnecessary troubles and wrong moments. caleb got on my nerves. he was just-ugh. and then with insurgent when they all found out the whole 'behind the walls' secret thing i was like "really. had to be her mom -.-' " i just didn't like that xD
@ asherwy DEAR LORD you can not be any more right with the casting. not only were they off with how people looked physically (which sometimes, you can't really help it), but with tfios coming out only three months after divergent? like um i know it can't really be helped but ehehehhh. my friends dad was like "so she's sleeping with her bro and this dude who has a weird fetish for numbers?"

heuheu so much hatred is being unleashed
I KNOW
TRIS JUST-
UGH
but please guys, four's nose, i was trying so hard not to laugh in the movie theatre
I can't agree more though, like why would you make the same girl get smoochy with a guy named after a number and then get all depressed with a guy that used to be her brother
haha number fetish that's funny
I JUST WANT TO FIRE THE CASTERS FOR DIVERGENT

Aye I guess my opinion is a little different here
Like I adored book Teresa and the book but then I was just like ? with the movie
I guess I didn't mind what they changed but probematically I liked how it was in the first place so idk
Okay the Scorch Trials though
That was SO angering I was just like 'really oh well well'
I guess those books for me always seemed to be confusingly fast or really slow
But the movie just seemed... Off to me
In casting and in how they changed the plot
I don't know
But onto Divergent because that's like one of my favorite books
Yeah I started like screaming and getting so annoyed because that is not what they looked like at all
Nope nope I mean Tobias's looks ?
And in Divergent
I was kind of happy because the plot followed the book but for me it missed all of the good parts that made it my favorite book! I mean seriously the movie was just
Action
Action
Actionnnn
There wasn't so many scenes and there weren't even a couple of characters
And I'm not going to even rant about Insurgent
That list is to long to write
Do you guys even know how much they changed?? How much of that movie was wrong, not supposed to happen, and just seriously.
I mean I liked the second movie as well, but it wasnt the book. It was something else that Idk. I liked it as a different movie.
As a side note, anybody here like how the Hunger Games Triology is going?
she/them
writing is everything

*jumps inside*
Did someone say hunger games?
I personally am in love with them, but that's just me. I've rea all the books and seen all of the current movies.
Yes some people think it's just typical, but I love it. The movies were off, but they did do a pretty darn good job at making sure it was at least somewhat the same. I found it interesting also how they took the lyrics from the hanging tree song and did that, when it could have been any tune at all.
I know some of you probably have a hatred for the hunger games too, but I personally think it's awesome.
Although one thing that bothers me is when people just junk it's a love triangle- because it's really not. I feel like the movie kind of portrays it like that, which wasn't my favorite part.
Molingjaay Part 1 is an amazing movie, and I was very impressed. A lot of people said it was broong, but it was actually very interesting. They put Effie into it, while she wasn't in the book at all. That is one thing I have to say they did right. Even if it wasn't in the book, they made it for the movie right
That was long.
And before anyone goes arguing about something, remember I just woke up and typed this on my phone so yes there is going to be mistakes and stupid things I've said. I am really tired

Honestly, I hated a lot of the recent dystopian fiction, and haven't watched any of the movies because movies of books always annoy me so much (Especially Coraline. Great book, great movie, completely different.)
I liked Maze Runner, but read it two or three years ago and don't remember it very well.
Divergent annoyed me because I had an idea for a world the was very similar, but way cooler, at least six months before I read Divergent, but if I somehow get anything in that world ready to be published, everyone would think it was a bad copy of Divergent.
And the Hunger Games. Time for me to get really ranty. The first Hunger games book was good. The later ones felt like the author had no idea what they were doing and just knew they could make money off Hunger Games. Also, does it really make any sense that everyone in the Capitol would like watching kids kill each other? What the heck, people? And I've heard the hanging tree song on the radio, and I liked the tune I made up for it more, but I don't really think I get to complain about that. I do have to say though, the writing itself was pretty good. I seriously could not put any of those books down. Plus it made me realize that a lot of the books I liked the writing in were written it present tense, and made me try writing in present tense, which I now always do.
I'll send out my soul
To worlds more beautiful
