1X1 with ~Griffin: Scout and Akane

"Yeah. It's much easier to share the responsibility with someone else," he says softly, reaching the entrance to his tunnel and stopping. "Well, we're home," he whispers, nuzzling her cheek before leading her down the slightly winding path that curled around large rocks and hard bits of clay that he hadn't been able to dig through.

She nodded at his sentiment about shared responsibilities and simply tapped him lightly with her tail in her agreement as he started down the winding tunnels, leading her closer to his home and his family.

He smiled. "Don't worry about Ami, she'll love you I'm sure," he assures her.

"I hope so." Akane pursed her lips thoughtfully, patting the little pouch at her side. She still had a ripe strawberry in here, and thought she might just give it to Ami. She smiled at the hopes of meeting the young Voxxie as soon as they got out of the tunnels.

After a few more minutes of walking they reach the bottom, Scout immediately being tackled by a small form. "Daddy, you're back!" Ami squeals happily. "Did you have good time? Did you go an adventure? Can you tell me about it for a bedtime story? Did-" She stops, lifting her head and smelling the air around them. "Who did you bring? Is it a new friend for me?"

Scout laughs and sets her down gently. "Ami, this is my friend Akane," he introduces, knowing Rosehip has snuck her way out like she usually does. "Akane, meet the little furball I love, Ami," he says playfully, ruffling the fur on his daughter's head.

{Okay, that's beyond adorable. XD}

Akane smiled. "Hello Ami. It's nice to meet you. I'm Akane." She extended her paw to the little Voxxie's in greeting. "Your daddy has told me so much about you! I'm excited to get to know you." She told her smiling brightly. She was so much cuter in person.

Ami moves over and hugs her, though it's a bit of a reach because of her small size. "It's good to meet you too," she says with a smile. "Do you know any good stories?"

Scout laughs. He had seen that coming, because Ami loved them, but he doesn't say a word. He'd let Akane get to know her a bit more first.

"Have you ever heard the story of the Cattle Raid of Cooley?" she asked, wagging her tail lightly, pulling the young Voxxie close as she awaited her answer.

"No. The only stories Daddy tells are one of his adventures," Ami answers. "Would you tell it to me please?"

Scout sits down, eager to hear the story as well. He had to admit, he didn't remember the stories he was told as a child, and he had left home as soon as he was old enough. If he could learn a few to tell Ami he would gladly listen.

"Well, it's an old Irish story, told to me by my friend Nuala. It's a human story too. I don't know where she learned it, but that makes it more of a mystery." she started smiling at the little girl's excitement.
