Tired, the tom lay down, he had no apparent reason as to be tired, but it was probably because he flirted with practically with every she-cat (and tom?) in sight. He was tired from mates chasing him away, he was tired. Though flirtign was important. He came to conclusion that not getting killed by his clanmates was important too. This explaining the reason as to why he was lying down high in a tree
