Gabriel is a big goof ball . He is always smiling and laughing, often acting childish in some way . He does it to make others laugh, and usually makes a clown out of himself . He loves to have fun and is constantly poking jokes at others and teasing them playfully . He sometimes goes a bit too far, as he doesn't know when to shut his trap . The doll tends to get into more trouble than he usually bargains for an has to stumble his way out of trouble . To add on to his large mouth he is very witty, often making smart remarks or coming up with decent comebacks . This doll will mock others playfully . He will copy body movements, repeat others in a silly voice, or pretend his hand is saying what the other is saying . That being another way he gets in trouble . Gabriel is the name for Christianity's messenger angel, and is appropriately named so . But instead of spreading messages hie tends to spread rumors and gossips . Gossiping is one of his favorite pastimes . He loves to talk and will talk about anything and everything, whether it is true or not . This doll is extremely dense, making him somewhat gullible as well . If you tell him one thing he will believe it, but you have to do it bluntly . If you try to hint at something he will never figure it out . All of this throws together to make one crazy mix of a spaztic doll but in the end he is a sweetheart . His ears are always open if another is willing to talk . When he cares about another than he will do anything to make them happy and smile .

Cannot sing

This doll, if even to save his life, cannot sing . When one would look at him they would expect him to have the voice of well- an angel . He is rather tone deaf and cannot sing in the right pitch or key at all . He prefers to strum on his lyre rather than to sing .
When not flying anywhere, he will fly in one spot upside down

Gabriel is always zipping around from place to place, doll to doll, carrying messages and gossip . Because he is almost always moving this guy doesn't land very often throughout the day, usually the moment he lands someone will ask him to run an errand . Because of this the doll will hang upside down in the air if he is not needed .
Hair is always a mess

Gabriel's curly white mop of a hair do is always a mess . No matter how much her tries to brush it into place or how much hair gel her uses it never sticks for long .
Won't eat anything orange

We all have that one particular thing that we wont eat and just can't explain why, well, Gabriel's is orange food . Carrots, some cheeses, oranges, cantaloupe, pumpkins and everything else . He doesn't like the way they look or smell or even taste . Everything about them is thrown off by the color . This doll refuses to eat any of it due to none being aesthetically pleasing to him .
Doesn't understand modern technology

What is the point of a toaster ? Why do you need a screen with mini humans in it ? Can't you just use candles ? This doll is a bit old fashioned and doesn't get the use of modern technology, often finding it useless or too difficult to use . The toaster usually scares him half to death and lamps are just plain annoying when he trips and gets tangled in their wires .

Ｈｏｂｂｉｅｓ

This doll's favorite thing to do is to play his lyre, and has become quite the hobby for him . Whenever he has any free time he will laze about and strum on her strings, Phanuel often signing along to the tune of the song .

Ｆｅａｒｓ

The dark

Gabriel is terrified of darkness . When he is completely surrounded by the vast nothingness that is the dark he feels like he is suffocating . He can't help but feel small and helpless, blinded but something he cannot touch . Because of his fear he tends to have some sort of light source with him at all times, mostly being a candle or lamp as flashlights are "awkward" and "difficult to use" .
Being alone

He doesn't like to be alone . This doll is in constant need of a companion and if ever separated from others he panics . He always holds his shadow close, careful to not forget her if he ever sets her down to avoid this problem .
Mirrors

Evil things lie on the other side of mirrors . Gabriel doesn't like to look at them, fearing that he will see something on the other side if he does . If he spots a mirror of any kind his first instinct is to cover it up instantly .
Anything macabre

He isn't a big fan of horror movies or scary stories . Any thing creepy or gory isn't for him . Gabriel can be a big cry baby when it comes to things like that and is usually scared for weeks on end after watching a movie that is even remotely scary . His shadow teases him about this quite often .

Phanuel was far from a musical instrument before she was turned into a shadow . The lovely lyre was once a child's puffy snake sticker, the kind that you stick all over your school notebooks and make crinkly noises when you press down on them . She was the only sticker to remain on the kid's notebook until the end of the year . She was extremely happy, as she was toted around everywhere in the kid's backpack and constantly saw the child's face when she was pulled out . Although when summer rolled around the child did the thing that all kids typically do- throw out their old school stuff . Since Phanuel was stuck onto the notebook she was thrown out with the rest of the old school supplies .

Ｒｅｌａｔｉｏｎｓｈｉｐ ｗｉｔｈ ｓｈａｄｏｗ

These two have a strong relationship with each other, well, Gabriel is overly attached to the poor lyre . He is constantly keeping the shadow in his eyesight, and will never leave a room without making sure he has picked Phanuel up . Phanuel doesn't mind the excessive attention and is overly spoiled because of it . She treats Gabriel as an equal but is treated like a goddess in return .

Gabriel is basically tone deaf . He is always off pitch when he sings and his voice slides everywhere . He can't tell a "do" from a "mi" and god forbid him to actually try and sing a whole song . Because he lacks the talent to sing he lets his shadow do it for him . She has a much better voice than he, one that is soft and sounds like the chiming of bells on a Sunday .

watching from the heights of heaven the angel watches as they call out to their family, watching once more as the situation transpires. The Angel of the lords has watched time and time again children's delight in the discovery of their god. And to the watchful eye of the man in gold he sees as Buddha, Allah, Yahweh and Brahma blessed. The man in gold once saw Jupiter, Zeus and their brothers praised, witnessed the worship of Ra and Amun. The angel, servant to the gods has seen the rise and fall of worship, walking among those religions.

The name of this doll is Helios, a name fit for a king, or uhh, a servant of a king I suppose. Helios was named after the titan of light from whence he was born. Made as a gift for the original Titan, Helios has settled in their doll's form around that time. Athens being what they would consider their birth place. But, that's only for their physical form. Seeing as Helios literally represents gods throughout the centuries there's no actual age or name to the spirit of Helios, nor is any one person or god, or spirit for that matter who can gauge the age and or origin of the spirit for Helios, so as far as we know Helios is both ageless, and gender-less. Crafted from materials found on mount Olympus, Helios' body was made to last the ages, however, they have tanned or darkened over the millenniums. Though we know little about their history, a mysterious being are they.

Helios was there as the earth was formed, though they speak not as not to disturb unmindful believers and here the man murmurs of his God's creation of world. And Helios watched the rise and fall of theories, the praise and constant worship of the sun and the trusting of the moon.

Name meaning:
Seraphim are the priest-like angels. Traditionally they have six wings, but this Seraphim only has four.

Nickname:
Sera.
Pronounced like the girl's name Sarah. He doesn't like his nickname that much.


Sexuality:
Heterosexual.
While not terribly interested in dating or marriage, Seraphim thinks it would be nice to have someone who loves him in that way.

Religious Beliefs:
Seraphim is a Christian. He believes that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, then rose again. He believes that Heaven and Hell are very real, and is very sad that he likely won't be able to go to Heaven because he is a doll and will likely live forever here on Earth and in the Dollhouse.

Seraphim is not without his struggles. He doesn't understand why God doesn't allow homosexuality, or why he lets good, loving, God-fearing people suffer hardships and persecution. He also struggles with personal things like doubt, laziness, and not giving people space. Not that any of these things are sins, but they can still interfere with having a relationship with God.

Personality:
Seraphim honestly loves everyone. He talks to everyone who will look at him, and is obviously not shy in the least. He has loves to make friends and have large yet somehow still intimate parties with many people invited. Seraphim is very creative with his parties, making colourful and pretty decorations and inventing fun games that help his guests get to know everyone. Sera has a sort of air about him that makes people feel at ease when they are with him. He is easy to talk to and likes to help people, but sometimes takes his help too far.

Seraphim often finds himself bending over backwards to help people, whether they want his help or not. This annoys most people to no extant. When they tell him to back off or go away, Seraphim is deeply hurt. He can't (or won't) understand why his help is unaccepted. He goes into a sort of hibernation and will be incredibly lazy until he finds some new "project," or person to help.

While being lazy, Seraphim does absolutely nothing except lay on the bed in his room in the dollhouse and cry. He might attempt to read a book or play a video game while "hibernating," but never gets very far in either. It's hard to read with tears in your eyes.

The few things Seraphim absolutely will not tolerate are insects, spiders, or zombies. He finds these things absolutely repulsive and will not have anything to do with them. Even if it means losing a friendship or not being able to help. someone, he refuses to deal with these things. Out of these three things, Seraphim finds zombies the most repulsive because they are simply undead. It is impossible to tell where something's soul is when it is undead. Is it in Heaven? Hell? On Earth? None of the above? Seraphim feels sorry for zombies, even though they don't exist.

Complements?
Flattery will get you almost anywhere with Seraphim. He loves to be complemented and sometimes fishes for complements. Seraphim always acts surprised when he's complemented, even when he was fishing, and thanks the person profusely.

Hardship?
As stated before, Seraphim is a big baby. He breaks down and cries, mopes around, and is generally very lazy and sobby during hardship. Only make things worse. Seraphim just needs his time to get over it and for the situation to pass.

Being alone?
It depends on how Seraphim is alone. He can handle solitude, with no one but himself and Grandmother pretty well for a while. When he feels like people are avoiding him, however, Sera goes crazy. He (you guessed it) becomes very sobby and mopes around. Sometimes he gets very annoying, and begs for attention.

Hardship?
Grandmother is an avid follower of the saying "Keep calm and carry on." She has to be, considering how much of a baby Sera is and how much he needs her. She doesn't overreact and in fact barely reacts at all.

Being Alone?
Grandmother doesn't mind being alone, in fact, she loves it! She would get lonely without Seraphim, but can do on her own for a while. Grandmother finds other dolls and shadows annoying, especially hyper and young ones. She's too old and tired to have to put up with things like that.

Grandmother's story starts far back, a long time ago in ancient Rome. She was a bracelet that went on the forearm. The bracelet was gold and depicted a snake winding around a tree branch. The tree branch was a special tree branch; it had music notes instead of leaves.

The woman the bracelet belonged to was a wonderful musician. Before she married, she made quite the living singing and playing her lute at parties and festivals. After she settled down, she put aside her music, only occasionally playing for her children or at small house parties. She was a wonderful mother and eventually grandmother. She eventually passed away and left her snake bracelet and lute to her grandson. Her grandson became a wonderful became a wonderful lute player, just like his grandmother, but he could not sing at all. Eventually he married a woman, and gave her the snake bracelet as a wedding present. She was a wonderful singer and they made a wonderful pair.

Their happiness could not last, however. After the Great Fire of Rome happened, Emperor Nero began to persecute the Christians. The lute player was suspected of being a Christian and was executed. His wife was devastated and couldn't bring herself to sing anymore. Eventually she fell on hard times and was forced to sell her husband's lute and her beautiful snake bracelet. She was inconsolable when the Romans took her away to be executed, too. The lute was tossed into a blacksmith's fire as the fuel that helped melt the bracelet. As the woman drew her dieing breath, Grandmother, the shadow, was born from the blacksmith's flames.


Seraphim was the last doll a the little girl would ever have. "An angel to take her up to Heaven," her parents had said, but of course not in front of their daughter. Their daughter never was very healthy, and they knew this winter would be her last, especially after the sleeve of her coat became stained red after she coughed.

She had just taken a turn for the worse when the doctor came in. They really knew it was hopeless when he came out shaking his head.
"Just go and be with her." He said. The parents rushed in to her room to hold her hands and kiss her forehead one last time.

The doctor had waited to give the parents his bill until after the funeral. They knew they wouldn't be able to pay it, they just did. They took second mortgages on their house and cars, sold their televisions, did all they could. They sold most of their daughter's things, but couldn't bring themselves to sell her doll. Finally, they knew they had to. It was a unique doll so they knew they could get a good price. They sold the doll to a collector who they knew would take care of it. The doll was put in a glass case and occasionally admired by the collector's guests, but otherwise ignored.


Grandmother had made contracts with many dolls during her lifetime, and she was tired. She missed her old dolls, and she was so, so old. She could feel herself wasting away from the lack of love, and she was willing to let herself go. Somehow she found herself in the doll collectors house, so she thought she might as well take a look to see if any of the dolls begged to make a contract with her. And one did.

Grandmother resisted the temptation to make a contract with the angel doll. She wanted to fade away into nothingness, to be able to die, to rest. But something about this doll called her. He seemed... Different than the others, if that were at all possible. Begrudgingly, she made a contract with him. Just one more doll, then you can die. She told herself. Grandmother did not regret this.

This doll's favorite thing to do is to play his lyre, and has become quite the hobby for him . Whenever he has any free time he will laze about and strum on her strings, Phanuel often signing along to the tune of the song .

The dark

Gabriel is terrified of darkness . When he is completely surrounded by the vast nothingness that is the dark he feels like he is suffocating . He can't help but feel small and helpless, blinded but something he cannot touch . Because of his fear he tends to have some sort of light source with him at all times, mostly being a candle or lamp as flashlights are "awkward" and "difficult to use" .
Being alone

He doesn't like to be alone . This doll is in constant need of a companion and if ever separated from others he panics . He always holds his shadow close, careful to not forget her if he ever sets her down to avoid this problem .
Mirrors

Evil things lie on the other side of mirrors . Gabriel doesn't like to look at them, fearing that he will see something on the other side if he does . If he spots a mirror of any kind his first instinct is to cover it up instantly .
Anything macabre

He isn't a big fan of horror movies or scary stories . Any thing creepy or gory isn't for him . Gabriel can be a big cry baby when it comes to things like that and is usually scared for weeks on end after watching a movie that is even remotely scary . His shadow teases him about this quite often .

Phanuel was far from a musical instrument before she was turned into a shadow . The lovely lyre was once a child's puffy snake sticker, the kind that you stick all over your school notebooks and make crinkly noises when you press down on them . She was the only sticker to remain on the kid's notebook until the end of the year . She was extremely happy, as she was toted around everywhere in the kid's backpack and constantly saw the child's face when she was pulled out . Although when summer rolled around the child did the thing that all kids typically do- throw out their old school stuff . Since Phanuel was stuck onto the notebook she was thrown out with the rest of the old school supplies .

Ｒｅｌａｔｉｏｎｓｈｉｐ ｗｉｔｈ ｓｈａｄｏｗ

These two have a strong relationship with each other, well, Gabriel is overly attached to the poor lyre . He is constantly keeping the shadow in his eyesight, and will never leave a room without making sure he has picked Phanuel up . Phanuel doesn't mind the excessive attention and is overly spoiled because of it . She treats Gabriel as an equal but is treated like a goddess in return .

Gabriel is basically tone deaf . He is always off pitch when he sings and his voice slides everywhere . He can't tell a "do" from a "mi" and god forbid him to actually try and sing a whole song . Because he lacks the talent to sing he lets his shadow do it for him . She has a much better voice than he, one that is soft and sounds like the chiming of bells on a Sunday .

The doll goes by the title of Azrael Levi, often called "Levianthan" in jest
because of the old stories of leviathans as the first monsters. His shadowy
companion is titled Antebellum, an adjective describing a society before a
great war. His snakelike lyre doubles as a confidant and messenger, often
acting upon its advantages of being bound to him; namely, communicating
only with him and often appearing invisible to any foreign dolls.

Azrael is named for the angel of death for good reason. In lore, Azrael had
an eye and a tongue for each person on earth, and an eye blinks each time
a person has died. He watches over the populations on earth and shepherds
souls across borders. In this Azrael is well-named, as his purpose is to have
a hand in the fate of each doll that reaches the dollhouse, and is rumored to
have communications with the mysterious and fabled owners of said
dollhouse, though he sheds no light on such gossip.

the narrator ignores him and begins to read from a scroll as he goes back to work, strumming a lyre when he's not poring through books or calculating with an abacus.

Dolls' past lives are varying in importance and experience. some have previously been dolls, others people. Azrael was the latter. One cannot go into excessive detail concerning it, as he is very private about it and will most likely silence you before you can spread anything around. All that is known - or assumed - is that his negligence and arrogance caused pain or loss to someone very dear to him, and the actions of his previous life still haunt his every waking moment. Whatever being is in charge of the dollhouse gave him another chance, and he takes that very seriously. He becomes immersed in his work, often so dedicated that people find him to be a killjoy or an emotionless fiend. Despite his straightforward work habits and blunt attitude, he is quite compassionate and uses what people skills he does possess to work hard in every aspect and keep the dolls and shadows that he socializes with comfortable and happy. More than anything he is upset by others' pain, and because of that, he will exhaust himself while trying to improve the lives of near-strangers. He tends to become quite motherly and overprotective, however, and people find him terribly clingy.

the occupation is an extension of the personality as a passion and as a survival.

Azrael was allowed another life as a doll, under the condition that his entire being be dedicated to the good of the dollhouse and of those inside of it. There was no reluctance in his agreement, as he felt he had a lot to make up for in the horror that he instigated as a human being. And that is how he started his work, assigning dolls different appearances, homes, and jobs while studying them and what would make them most happy. He became a ferryman across lives for those entering the dollhouse, and a guardian for the new dolls that could easily get themselves into trouble or be bullied by those who made such. Among these responsibilities is a unique one; he can speak to other shadows, whether they be contracted or not, and help them find an appropriate doll to strike a deal with. He and his own do many tasks within a day; adding to the large memberlist whenever a new doll comes in, making sure the new arrivals are comfortable, or even boring tasks such as cataloging or making rounds around the dollhouse. Whatever needs to be done to make the Dollhouse a safe and joyous place, he will do it. In any event of supernatural attack, he would be the first to rise to its defense.

Azrael is not a religious person; some Dolls discard religion as they enter the Dollhouse because of the nature of the place that they are in. In his opinion, religion is a fairy tale that gives you hope, and it is not needed when dolls have their own little miracles from day to day, and can instead depend on each other. People do whisper about who exactly has control of the Dollhouse, or better yet, who "owns" it. Some say that it is one being with an affinity for dolls and a penchant for magic; others say it is a group of toymakers that bring life to their creation. Azrael does not perpetrate these rumors out of respect for his superiors, and also because he often does not deal with them directly, but through messengers. Whatever the case, he is content with doing his job and taking care of the dolls.
