"Thank the gods"! Rin yelled into the blanket, muffling her words so as not to wake the others. She cuddled back up to Pallon's side and closed her eyes, trying desperately to fall back asleep.

Kalten shook his head with a smirk, "No, he just pinched my nails is all". He held his hand up to examine his fingers before giving a thumbs up to Cass.

Pallon chuckled slightly as he drifted back to sleep, cuddling Rin.

Cass nodded. "Oh, good. I was worried he'd actually hurt you."

Pallon put her at ease and Rin finally went back into a peaceful sleep.

Kalten smiled and shook his head, "Pinched fingers are painful, but what kind of man would I be if I went sniveling because of a bird bite"?

Pallon remained peacful this time.

"Better than many Alenthians I've met." Cass replied.

Many of the guards had taken to the inn for the night and were drinking away the wearisness from weeks of travel. They had been on the road for nearly a month and a half, and the mountians were in sight. It was estimated that in a days travel theyd be at the base and would begin their acent into Ceveria the day after. Tovheir however had deemed that they stay in this larger village for a day before setting off again, so they could rest and resupply.

Pallon, now showing no sign of ever being poisoned stood watch dilligently at the door of the tavern while the others of their main group gathered in the corner of the bar. Apparently Tovheir and Taivil always chose to sit in that particular corner in every innn and tavern as a way of finding each other and isolating their location.

Taivil stood behind Niannas chair, leaning against the wall with his arms folded. He seemed the most eager to keep moving and was not appreciating Tovheirs decision.

Tovheir sat in the very corner, seemingly oblivious to Taivil's annoyance, drinking a mug of ale.

Wolf and Nick were sitting in the rafters above, lounging carelessly.

Rin stepped down from the stairwell that lead up to the inns rooms. She had regained much of the sleep she had lost on the road and woke refreshed for the journey ahead. She seemed almost as eager at Tai'vil with a hint of nerves. She skirted the bar and came to sit beside Nianna with an eager smile, "Oh I'm getting so excited! We're so close to the border"!

Kalten sat at a table behind the group picking at the plate of food infront of him, none too impressed with the cooks. He pushed it away and sipped at his small glass of water.

Nianna smiled at Rins excitement. Her hands were in her lap. "It wont be much longer thats for certain."

Tovheir set his mug down, and watched the little liquid left in it as he spoke. "We still have at least a weeks journey until we get to where were going. Not to mention most of you will find the trekk miserable becasue of the steep ingrades and freezing nights. H*** half of you will regret ever taking-"

Taivil smacked him upside the head. "Oh shut it." He mimicked a voice that was probably one of their cousins, "Just because you're miserable doesnt mean you need to purposefully drag everyone else down with you." He returned to normal voice. "Isnt that what Crii said after Nima left me? It's been a month and a half Tovheir. Betrayal hurts. Believe me, but you have to move forward."

Nick hung from the rafters and poked Kalten in the shoulder.

Rin leaned forward to look at them both flatly, "That was so motivating that I may just start climbing the mountain tonight". Her excitement faltered for a moment and she shook her head, "He's right yaknow, because I don't say that very often". She leaned on the bar and ordered an ale.

Kalten leaned back on the chair, tipping it on two legs to look up at Nick. "Yes? Can I help you"? He replied with a smile.

Tovheir glared at Taivil and then faltered. He sighed and finished off his ale. "...sorry..." He mumbled.

Taivil gave Rin a half smile. "I think that was a compliment!"

"You look lonely..." Nick replied still hanging.

Wolf took the chance while Kalten was distracted. He hung from the rafters and grabbed the plate of food. He quickly lifted himself back up, not dropping anything and sat with a grin.
